  • Hi,

I m new in so pls tell me what is all purpose flour?

  • @pankajak47 it's basically flour that can be used for baking, cooking, etc. hence the name all purpose. It's known as "maida" in hindi/punjabi. some stores, especially indian stores, sell "atta" for "chapatis, rotis, etc." that isn't the one you want! you can easily find all purpose in american grocery stores or even indian stores if you ask. i hope this helped (:

  • @pankajak47

here it's called "typ 405 or 550" but in general you can use anything till wholemeal - it's just a slightly different taste and a bit darker color, but I guess 1050 also should do (it's healthier also).

  • heyy that cake looks sooo yummy. i wish i could make ittxx

  • madhura as i don have oven pls let me know the duration for micro....i've LG micro with convection cooking...pls reply back..

    kasamule sangshil ka......??

    please

  • @sunitavcahvan

I am sorry that cake didn't turn out good. Its probably because it didn't cook properly and second thing if you have stuffed all the batter in single cake tin. Jar as compare to batter cake tin chi size lahan asen tar cake dabla jato. You need quite wide tin to bake eggless cake. Sorry again...

  • @madhura94

today i tried same cake with eggs & it turns so yummy ..........& so spongy

    thank u

i will definetely try next time without egg

  • Tu marathit ka nahi recipe dakhavat...ase pan bahutek baghnare maharashtrians asatat..tar mag marathit baghayala anakhin chan vatel....:-)

  • @vaishali281

Thanks Vaishali for feedback. I truly appreciate that. I would really love to shoot videos in marathi, but then recipes will restrict to Marathi viewers only. We want to reach our cuisine to each household across the world. Thanks for asking :D

  • I have been searching for a good eggless cake recipe for a long time and have finally found it. I tried your recipe today and it came out brilliantly. Thanks.

  • @lwxcmla

Thank you for writing to us. Keep watching

  • My frosting became way too hard after it cooled down and the cake was not done from the inside. It also took 20 minutes for the frosting (that too I used half amount of each to try first), instead of 7 minutes like yours, and wasn't nice white color either (became kind of creamish/pale color). Was it because I made in steel pot instead of nonstick? Or could it be because I used the oven and electric stove top at the same time, that's why neither the cake nor the frosting cooked well?

  • Hi Madhura...I came across ur video for the first time and really liked the recipe...d decoration is simply awesome...u sound to be a very nice girl :-) ...gr8 job and keep it up..!!!

  • @rippankang

Thanks so much for the compliment. Watch more on madhurasrecipecom

  • I love u madhura .. your cake is so sweet and u r too sweet .. :)

  • @hetalpatel41

    Thanks :)

  • madhura, i tried making this cake twice. the first time i made it, it turned out too oily and it tasted like oil. it was very heavy, not fluffy at all.

the second time i made it, it didnt taste like oil, but it was still very very heavy. it was not spongy or light at all. i followed your instructions, why could this be happening? it turned out horrible! maybe it is because i made a mistake, please help me?

  • hey madhura...i loved this recipe...since m vegetarian so was looking for egg-less cake recipe..i tried this and it came out very good...my husband liked it very much..thanks a ton...now i wanna try marble cake...but not able to find any recipe for eggless marble cake...cud u help me out in this?? thnks :)

  • @TheNehaarora10

oh I am sorry that cake didn't turn good. Any cake recipe needs exact measurements and for this recipe you need to use hot boiling water. Did you bake all batter once in a single pan, that could also be reason that it didn't turn fluffy..

  • why do yu apply cold water on the cake??

  • hiii...i tried this cake nd it comes out gr8....i make it in a gas oven ...nd it tastes yummyyy nd my mom liked it soooo muchhhhhhhhhhhhh ........................

  • @khushboo82

Thanks for writing. I am sure you can do this as well. Just follow the recipe. By the way. I live in Chicago.

  • Nice recipe.

  • Thankyou! n_n

  • Could you please talk slowly. English is a simple language, it will sound much nicer when you talk slowly. Sometimes I really find it hard to follow.

I know, as asian we always talk fast, when we learn english but we got to think about our audience as well.

Look at vahchef videos. He makes cooking fun.

    Anyways all the very best.

  • @livefilmsonline

Thanks for the suggestions. Sure, will take care of this in future videos.

  • @livefilmsonline aint u little rude ... if u dont understand her accent its ok dont bother to watch the video ...she speaks understandable english.... be nice plss !!!!

  • @palamiaotisa I am sorry, if you find me rude. I just want her to be successful. As a film maker, I just advised her. She is a nice lady, I don't have no reason to be rude. If you find me rude mathura, My apologies.

  • Thanks for the recipe! You explained it really well and the directions were really easy to understand. I made the cake and it turned out wonderful! Have a wonderful new year and I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos. :D

  • @uni91

I am happy to know that. Wish you and your family a happy and prosperous new year too.

  • I can't understand a word you are saying, plus your talking too fast.

  • @modupeh22

Sorry about that. Will try to improve more in coming days. Thanks for the suggestion

    Thanks. Happy Holidays!

  • wonderful!! innovative buttercream recipe. will definitely try it for the new year!!

  • @saraconnar

    sure, thanks. Happy holidays!

  • You never soak a sponge with cold water! Its usually very light sugar syrup, or some fruit juice, or fruit syrup. Wonder how the cake would have tasted soaked up in just cold water...belch!

  • @madhurikumar9

First of all no cake is soaked in any kind of syrup. We just add few drops of sugar syrup, juice or wine to remain cake soft and moist for longer time. Sugar syrup is mostly used in chocolate cakes as they are little bitter in taste. In my case cake was enough sweet and I didn't wanted to make it over-sweet by adding sugar syrup or juice. You may give it a try and and you would keep wondering how yummy and delicious this simple cake is :) Happy holidays!

  • @madhura94

Pastries are definitely soaked in light sugar syrup which can be lightly flavoured (with flavour of choice). Sometimes, even fresh fruit juice is used. If a cake requires soaking in thin syrup/fruit juice, then the sugar in the cake recipe is reduced to a certain extent. A cake is never really soaked with just plain water. It takes away the flavour from the cake, and renders it pretty tasteless. I make a lot of cakes and pastries too. I have a home bakery, so I know my stuff.

  • @madhurikumar9

its not pastry. Believe me few drops of cold water doesn't spoil the taste of cake at all. I have prepared it so many times for social functions and so far I don't have any issue related to taste or flavor of the cake. Give it a try once and you will come to know. This is one of the best Eggless sponge and butter cream....

  • Nicely done!!

  • @SeriousCakes

    Thanks. Happy Holidays!
