  • This was the first GP I ever watched. This amazing display of sportsmanship got me hooked on F1 and I was lucky enough to slot into F1 fandom just in time to watch Senna reach the peak of his performance.

The next three years until Senna's death were the best years of F1.

Anyone reading this who doesn't know much about Senna - watch the movie/documentary 'Senna'. Highly recommended. Very poignant last 30 mins covering his and Roland Ratzenberger's deaths on the same weekend at Imola in '94

  • blad blood

  • @autorack1 There's only one Murray Walker, isn't there? :D

  • I was there with a couple of mates in the group on the left side of the straight, @ 2.15 the guy with the flag drops his pants and shows his arse, we were level with him. It was a crazy few minutes we were part of Mansell Mania.

  • Fantastic days...

  • 1:53 Get Off It!!!!!

  • @20mlt09 I was surprised Webber didnt get some kind of punishment - it is against the rules after all... not that i'm complaingin mind

  • @suleman021 and a red suite and a blue and yellow car. very strange...

  • "Senna is going to be pointless"

    lol i love that.

  • 1:50 "Piss off mate."

  • 2:17 the guy moons them! then some guy batters him!!! ahahahah

  • 2:20 lol

  • 1:20 wish F1 had camera views like that now in the races.

  • @AbzPoo You do get them- there's footage from Hamilton in Brazil 2008 just after he wins the Championship.

  • F1 died in 2006...Before that it was all about the sport the fans and the heart and soul, now it's all about the tires, the money, the robot cars, the fake circuits who can't compare to the good ol classic circuits etc etc.

  • @Slu4ainika holy shit you must be kidding..so for example in 2005 it was all about heart, soul and the fans? don´t be ridiculous please :D

  • fuckin shit i want to cry, Mansell was a very great driver, a gentleman .

  • 1:50 "fuck off m8"

  • good old days,When f1 driver isn't corporate robots,I'll be very surprised if Vettel gives a ride for Button now

  • @alief54 Sadly, you're right. Another reason why he wouldn't do it is because he'd have to be scared of getting penaltilized by the FIA for that... R.I.P. Formula One.

  • I love the little tap on the head he gives Nige when he gets on the car.

    Magic!

  • Why the HELL isn't this footage in the new Senna movie?? Beggars belief. It's one great racing driver telling an even greater racing driver how much he admires and respects him. Senna may not have endeared himself to all in F1, but they all still knew how great a racer he was, even if they didn't always like the man. This footage shows how much he was respected and it should have been included in the movie!! Even if it becomes a DVD extra, it will be too little too late.

  • @DoctorTimmyTiddles Really? its not in the movie? Im seeing the film tomorrow , i too cant believe this would not be there, how crazy... you sure you didnt fall asleep at any point dude????? Cheers.

  • @DoctorTimmyTiddles The film is about the Senna/Prost relationship, the driving-force of the Senna's F1 career. A fantastic gesture from Mansell, but how does this fit in a film about Senna and Prost, and Senna's relationship with Brazil? Beggars belief that you didn't understand that. But then, I saw the film last night and there were people TALKING as Senna lay there fatally injured; honestly, I was totally moved, and these fuckers have only come along to see the crash and talk through it.

  • @bigmickno9 The film is called "Senna", NOT "Senna, Prost & Brazil". He was a complicated soul, one day slapping Eddie Irvine across the face for overtaking him, the next jumping out of his car to help an injured Eric Comas, to driving himself & Prost dangerously off the track, to being given a lift back to the pits by a driver (Mansell) he didn't always see eye-to-eye with. Yet only two of these got a mention. I just hope the DVD gives us way more on Senna The Man as the movie is incomplete.

  • @DoctorTimmyTiddles A 100 minute film is not long enough to encompass all these aspects of his career. The film IS about Senna, Prost and Brazil (you've obviously seen it), it's not about Senna and Comas, Senna and Irvine, Senna and Mansell. Prost and Brazil are the obvious driving forces behind Senna's tremendous skill and desire. The film is what it is, and is bloody good. If it encourages new interest in Senna's career then people will seek out more about him, then it's done a fantastic job.

  • @bigmickno9 It's not a bad film, I agree, but it's an incomplete one. If you think it should be called "Senna, Prost & Brazil" then why isn't it? Probably because it IS a film about Ayrton Senna and everything else is secondary. As someone who grew up watching Senna in F1, this should've been a more complete 2hr film, which would've been just as fascinating and just as exciting - but it wasn't. As I said, I hope the DVD gives us more.

  • @DoctorTimmyTiddles I never said it should be called that. The film chooses to focus on the relation with Prost and Brazil, it couldn't do it all. Why pick so hard? It was great and I really enjoyed it. It's not an autobigraphy, but a biopic and I've never seen a biopic which manages to tell a story from all aspects - that's the nature of cinema unfortunately. All the facts about Senna's career are out there to be found.

  • Two of the best we have ever had. Mansell is underrated and Senna had a massive amount of respect for Nigel.

Wonderful scene, those were the glory days.

  • Probably one of the best scenes you will ever see in F1.

    Awsome

  • and senna is going to be point-less! haha i lolled at that

  • remember watching this live as a 5 year old kid - my first real memory of F1

F1 hasn't been quite the same since the 90s :(

  • if this happend today, mansell would get a 10place penalty

  • @johnduckable456 true :P

  • Now that's true sportsmanship. Just love it.

  • Truly brilliant.

  • This is ACE!!! Sheer epicness!

  • senna kicks the stewart, so nice!!

  • 1:50

*Official* Get off, you can't do that! *Senna* Fuck off!!!

  • Thats sportmanship at it's best

  • Fair play nigel

  • This is so awesome from both of them.

  • This kind of thing is what made f1 great. Shame it will never happen again!!!!!!!!!

  • blaad blood

  • Fuck will these times ever go back?

  • @soberek I hope so. This was the golden age of F1.

  • I think the guy getting kicked at 2:17 is showing his butt off..hahaha!

  • I agree , for me senna and mansell ( and prost and piquet ) were heavyweight of Formula 1 :) .....

However the fight there was after this contact in the race ......

  • James hunt was with murray walker

  • glory days of f1.

  • One more myst losed it in the F1 :( 2 gods in the same car xD

BTW. Who was the commenter of the race??

  • @fefete the one and onli murry walker

  • This is called RESPECT between pilots..

  • @dkdadlh

But at Spa 1987 there is a fight in the box between them two .....

for this reason there is beautiful action in this video :) .....

  • @4JUGE4 oh,i didn't know that..maybe cause i was born in 1990 xD however they're great pilots,no doubt

  • I was there it was an amazing atmosphere everyone in the crowd was cheering as mansell came past with senna sat on the car! Everyone felt the same it was good sportsmanship!! Great memorys from a special time in F1

  • did some guy just pull his pants down on the track 2.19

  • 1:50 "get the FUCK away!" xD

  • Say, for example, Webber and Hamilton had done this at Suzuka, they both would have been hit with massive fines for breach of safety and assault of a track marshal.

  • Good stuff. Nowadays F1 just isn't what it used to be.

  • 1:51 Getaway Moment there for Senna

  • murray walker "blad blood" - gansta!

  • Who's the TV-Speaker? I kinda like it. very enthusiastic (:

  • i dont get it :D, why does Senna gain the fourth place? becuase he crossed the line? :D, but shouldent his car cross too? :D

  • @malthe122 other drivers got +1 lap instead of time

  • @Viperzz21 yeah, but is it fair that Senna's time count? :D

  • @malthe122 He completed as many laps as the lapped drivers, and did it faster...

  • @malthe122

Cause anybody behind him was at least a lap down. When his car ran out of fuel he was about 1.8 laps ahead the car behind him. So after they crossed the line Senna's car was still 0.8 laps ahead of Nelson Piquet's.

  • 2:17 look at the left bottom corner, one of fans is giving a kick to the other xD

  • @Kajkes

That fan is actually doing a moonie :P

  • @Kajkes lol he drop kicks him!

  • @Kajkes That was a flying ninja kick

  • @Kajkes he moons him before he kicked him

  • @Kajkes LOL! :D

  • Not any blad blood!

  • @plw24 Don't diss Murray mate! =)

  • didnt that happen in 1992?

  • i helped marshal that year , i was near the starting line amazing , looking back its hard to believe my luck back then ,

  • Very good mate it's a shame taxis's Rnt like that any more
