I wish every country that has Nuclear Weapons would get rid of them. Why keep them? Because of a fear of an attack? Well what about the aftermath? Either way, good / bad exist between those opinions. Not really a thing such as good or bad. They are based on opinions and not an exact fact. All I can hope is for no conflicts involving a Nuclear weapon. Still don't want any conflicts on that matter.

First of all, JSDF is an AWESOME military force. Just because it has "only" 200,000 troops doesn't mean it sucks, the quality of it's weapons/planes are among top of the world. It's just that the militarily superpowers today like USA, China, Russia and India are OVER-DOING it. Those 4 countries were militarily invaded brutally and colonized many times (mostly by western Europe), therefore, they try to assert their own power by being overly masculine. First of all, JSDF is an AWESOME military force. Just because it has "only" 200,000 troops doesn't mean it sucks, the quality of it's weapons/planes are among top of the world. It's just that the militarily superpowers today like USA, China, Russia and India are OVER-DOING it. Those 4 countries were militarily invaded brutally and colonized many times (mostly by western Europe), therefore, they try to assert their own power by being overly masculine. Relax. Their economy is in no shape to be re-arming itself.
Even if they did, current Japanese public opinion is very much anti-war - push as the US might, re-armament would be politically impossible. And I think they're smart enough to remember what happened the last time they tried to take over the world.
And even then if they do launch another attack, China, the Koreas, Russia and every nearby country will be up in arms and roundly pissed.
Conclusion? Japan is harmless.
