Democracy comes in many different flavors. At the top, US has the most advanced constitution and the has the best scholars that understand the civil liberty and the democracy.

Just think about the democracy built by the people know nothing about, that includes Gen. MacArthur also.

There's no group of people equivalent of ACLU in Japan. Maybe Seihokyo would be the closest but most people even know about them.

Candidates have no chance of winning without a help from powerful lobbyists.
