U2s first 5 albums were better than any group including the Beatles. When U2 got away from guitar, harmonica, piano, bass, and drums, then they became another band.....
Music and sound, not video and lights made the concert, and U2 was the best.
I saw this band when they came to Canada in 1981. They played a small venue called the Irish Centre. The concert was incredible. My buddy and I said that this band, one day, would be the biggest in the world. Were we ever right!!!!!. Incredible musicians incredible song writers. NOTHING MORE SHOULD BE SAID. THE BEST OF THE BEST!!!!!!! end of story.
Edge isn't exactly technical but he is a sound-scapist, he is a genius at creating things on a guitar that other people would not see the potential in, Adam knows how to lay it back, and Larry knows how to go with them, they are one of my all time favourite bands
@irishben36 ..... oh man ur talkn some rubbish!!.. edge is a genius.. Bono an unbelievable lyricist.. and adam is brill too.. they haven't sold 150,000,000 + albums for nothing!!
@irishben36 - Ok, for those of us not blessed with your insight, give us an example of what you consider to be a good guitarist, bass player and singer...... Strap yourselves in this could be fun!!!
I saw this concert live at the lorelei, one of the beautyiest locations ! I'm missing that time.. with good feelings, good music and a lot good people ..
I saw there a lot of very nice concerts with very good friends.
Me too man,it was like travel back in time, diferent mood, diferent fashion, people etc.I listen and listen The BOY album many times,it's always like first time, that's the proof of his awesomenes
One of my favourite songs from the early days, great that they included them both on the Vertigo tour ,but this is awesome, they are just the best live band ever!!!
Watched this live at 19 years of age at Swedish Television. The best concert I've ever seen til this day. Newspapers wrote about it the day after and praised the genuine approach and directness of the band. Heart to heart! Truly awesome.
