yeah this is what happens when you are a true artist. You give something so authentic, so genuine, so pure to the world to enjoy and your temporary audience tend to dislike quite seemingly. Then after the artist dies that is when he/she receives their deserved recognition. It's very sad. many people don't realize the immense amount of difficulty that lies under the practicing of opera. ive been studying opera and it is SO difficult and takes years and years to master. be thankful for the amazing artists who've worked their butts off to make angelic sounds when they open their mouths. just sayin

The story/setting and choice of a mezzo-soprano was progressive, even slightly scandolous for Bizet's time. Yay! I feel smart. Now I must return to my studies of Justin Bieber.
