Bifilar wound means that both windings have the same number of turns. If the primary winding has such a high voltage at 12V supply, then the feedback winding has the same voltage since it's the same number of turns. This is Really Bad. The feedback winding should be 10 or 12 turns, about 1/4 the number of turns when the supply is 12V. This is to prevent the high negative V on the feedback winding from damaging the emitter to base junction of the transistor.
very interesting project,, im patrick from philippines, where did you get the toroid,?its very hard to find the toroid in philppines,,do you have extra toroid?please can i have one of your extra toroid,i have my email address here,patrick_nhel@yahoo.com.,,, ill give you my address so you can send me a pc of your toroid, hope you will responce my msg,,
I managed to power a 24V LED lamp with an almost empty button cell... these things are anazing.
I also found out that if you charge a capacitor (through a diode) with it and put the LED there, it is much much brighter. But you probably know that ;-)
hi this is ajimaru from ph. i just want to ask what no. of the power transistor and the resisto^_^ and is it the same diagram as a simple joule thief?
The small audio transistors are doing the oscillation to fast switch coils or large power transistors. Transistors have a input maximum. Just google for the datasheet, specs, and use a resistor, choke, or rheostat to bring it into range.
So does a larger coil or more turns on a coil increase the efficiency or power output from a 1.5 volt cell, or does it just allow for higher input voltage?
I made one of these a year ago, and the sound coming from the coil fascinated me the most. What median do electromagnetic wave travel through? All waves travel through a median, but I have found no one who claims to know for sure about electromagnetic waves.
that let me post you viedo /v good are or were ever a bedini groop v u be in teh addvansed groop i look at all ur pulse motors i think i read that u could never get a full charge i see y ] but u be pull to the ss guy-gals u should see an incrace of ur viedo hits

inverter produces a fixed voltage, fixed frequency sinusoid for powering ac equipment. this circuit produces hv spikes by interupting current thru an inductor, an using a coupled coil to switch the system at its overall resonance.
in terms or circuit design, theu are quite dissimilar
then i know you lill take to new hights do this i get old speaker bigger better rip out so you only have case and magnet
no wiers lay flat on face up [make sure nothing in cone hole fill as much a possable water hook 5 amp battey charger gd to case and and larg nail to center of magnet
All you need to do is put power through water, If you match the resonance with the container, which should resonate at a multiple or at resonance of the input frequency...
Paul--- Great!! That will probably drive an ignition coil that will light a CFL. Good job. Bigger is better. Good scope shots. I still have not figured out how to read mine very well.
What if you double the winds on the toroid?

1/10th of a volt, but 50 amps.
Best way to increase voltage?
Thanks

why don't you hook it op like this:
the light bulb in paralel with the capacitor, and that in paralel with the joul thief?
or won't this work?

what type of transistor did you use, all of the ones that I tried worked fine on 6 volts but died instantly on 15 volts?

Maybe the sound is magnetically induced vibrations in the toroid?

Its high frequency and low current, you should still be careful though.

Apologies if i'm being a bit thick here, but how is this different from an inverter hooked to a car battery?

Thats what I was thinking I have a coil and have dismantled a CFL ready as you may have saw in the video at the back.
Do you just place the CFL wires all in the out of the coil?
Next scope shot I do Ill explain why Im doing it, but Im still learning how to use it easier....

Nonetub 3 years ago
I think it will on 240v Bulbs but pulsed so it works at about 90% more efficient.
kubikop 3 years ago
Hey that sound the toroid produces is just like the one pirate picked up in his radio while used his joule thief.
Btw, have you tried to use a cap as the source of voltage?
Great videos!
Nabo00o 3 years ago
I have on the smaller version, see previous video.
I will need to upgrade the transistor to test it at 240v.
Cheers.

Nice very nice, curious as to what the voltage draw on this is...
marthale7 3 years ago
Thanks
It will be low (was it the current draw you were after?)
kubikop 3 years ago
That seems to be a very efficient inverter. I bet that coil is cold to the touch :)
12 volts, to 2-300+ volts is incredible, very impressive work!
