Wow. I cannot believe some of the comments. It is clear that most of you do not understand the World Systems Theory or have not experienced the migrant labor culture. It is also evident that most of the commentators have not looked at the statistical data concerning income and/or benefits. Also, illegal immigrants are at a disadvantage because they risk expulsion since they do not have "papers"--meaning they are paid at lower rates and struggle for their variant income.

Mexico should make American companies pay decent money to their workers instead of them paying sweat shop wages. I don't blame them for leaving mexico and heading to the US or Canada for work. Mexico has to change!!

Illegals are NOT oppressed!! First, illegals earn about 4 - 6 times what they earn in Mexico. Also, illegals get:
- free health care
- free K-12 education for their anchor babies
- free food stamps for their anchor babies
- free federal welfare checks for their anchor babies
- WIC (nutrional program for babies)
- EIC (Earned Income Tax credits up to $4,200/year)
- Low income housing subsidies

It is true that illegal migrant workers earn far more than they do in their native country. However, they have stopped living in their native country and do so in the host country where their cost of living is determined on a different rate scale. As such, they're not winners but rather double loosers; not able to make a living at home and being exploited as slave labor in the host country without any civil rights whatsoever.
