hey chrhuber2008 i've been wacthing your videos for quite a while now i like the beats you've made but i just want to know what's the name of that song from bob james?????
for all those stuck up dick heads out there sayin reason takes no talent! WELL DUH but not everyone can afford thousands of dollars of equipment to put a smile on you fuckin face (:O BIOTCH!!!
Where is the creativity? Reason software is for persons who lack scientific understanding of acoustics. It is too simple. My DAW requires more creativity, and is designed for thinkers. BTW, you got too much of a saw wave in your sound. Check out my latest video, and tracks. Chuck-Z.
im beatmaker n im work in reason...n this bit is totaly ok...i mean in the fl studio n other shit its no way u can made beat like this...all from me...
this is dope. where is this dudes webpage at. see this one took this dude a few hours or days to prefect. i saw some other fake dude on here like grab 4 kit samples do some tweaking and call it a beat. im going to have to be posting a beat soon. also easy way to prove u actually made a beat haha.
good beat, love hearing others reason beats. my friends just talk shit about reason, i like it. check out some of my beats, all made on reason 4.0, check it!
Yes, you can do that. Download the free program Audacity so you can import and convert your mp3s to wav file. You can even get ReCycle and chop it up in there if you want. However, you can import the wave file into NN XT and chop it up there and have the different parts assigned to keys. I use Dr. Rex and NN XT for sampling. When I want a sample as is, I use NNXT, but for chopped sample beats I use Dr. Rex.
I do a Combi with two malstroms running dual sines panned soft L and R, then within Malstrom I detune one to +1 and one to -1, both porta knobs set to about 1/4...
For something a little more fat, sometimes I'll throw in a square on one malstrom and the unison+reverb trick works nicely for those weird harmonics that make it sound like a real outboard synth...
Check it.. to all yall who are arguing bout what program is better and what-not... Just Blaze put it in perfect words... you aint gotta have $100,000 equipment to make a $100,000 beat.. and thats real
Not talkin crap but I don't see what the big deal is with reason. I'm on a Mac dual 2.8 Quad core, Logic Pro 8, Native complete, And use Moog and Korg hard keys. My quality after mix is always better than any people I know on reason. I feel (my opinion) is that reason is entry lever stuff no matter what rap producers can make a funky loop with it.
i was talking about FL compared to Reason, not Logic 8... I got Logic 8 myself on my Mac (just don't really know how everything works yet, but i'm gonna find out soon) Logic is definately better than reason, gotta agree on that.
I meant FL effects are f*cked compared to Reason's... But FL has other good stuff
I hear this over and over and if I was given the new reason, I would use it's plug ins for sure. If your into rap or hiphop and you need a loop;reason. It's simple and the masses can grab it and run. TOP PRODUCERS, rap? dirty south? yep. TOP PRODUCERS, synth pop, trance, glitch/idm, anything but rap? NO. Most consider Reason, fruity loops and so on like crayons as a child learns drawing. It's easy for them. As an adult using color pencil, CLOSE TO CRAYONS, is the way to go.
we could argue about this all day. when it comes down to it all sorts of producers are using reason simply because it is more like an analog rack module than any other software. is it the best? definitely not. but for the price and workflow it is.
I'm not dogging people who use reason unless it's all you use. It's a tool just like another program. I don't know one who has moved on in their electronic music that still uses it. Plus, some people play real instruments and sometimes it's a fused with electronic. You should shop around. There is so much more out there if you want an arsenal sounds and tools. They may not be cheap or easy to learn but you will be stoked when you use them. oh... hiphop, check out kubus & bangbang "learning curve".
Reason using the maximizers and mastering suite properly, exported in 24 bit into pro tools just as the beat track sounds top knotch. Its all about the person using it no doubt.
Reason is good, I agree, but definately not one of the best. Reason is mostly used a lot because of the sound quality, stability. When it comes down to REAL Pro producing: Logic Pro and Cubase mostly... as I said I work with 4 programs: Logic Studio 8, Reason 4.0, FL XXL 8 and ACID Pro 7... Logic is by far the best.
It all depends you know, if your a good producer, you can work with anything, and i mean anything. I mean, check out NFX beats man. He does some shit on FL Studio thats Heavyweight hip hop quality. The only limit is the limit of your own imagination true that. i use Reason or FL . . for the simple reason that they are the easiest to illigaly download haha. But ive just orderd an iMac with Logic pro pre-installed, so we will see how that goes init :P
Yeah, i get what you mean... There are great producers on soundclick who use FL. My point is not how you produce, It's about the sound quality. The quality of how 'real' or how 'good' a sound sounds.
there isn't one best, reason hardly has the editing, or mixing capability of digi's protools especially tdm, and logic pro is an excellent all round solution. Cubase is great for certain applications as well.
It depends on how you use reason. i've been working with it for many years, and you can achieve a lot with editing... you just have to figure out how to place effects on the instruments... ah well, this conversation could go on forever :P , anyways,, just use what you like best
nice one... like the melody... you could've put some more work in it though to really make it bang if you know what i mean, some more effects maybe (i would equalize it a bit with the melodies: HF down a bit, and maybe a PEQ in it for that bass sound (dunno really what it is, coz the quality is not that good))
also check out my beats and tell me what you think, i work with reason too (for over a couple of years now: started with 3.0, now 4.0,, you love the Tjor too??,,,, great with pitching)
actually reasons refills haev tons of patches used for diff synths and shit in reason, so basically, samples are in wav. which arent special really, ur right... but you cant load a thor patch or nnxy patch into fruityloops so there blha blah
Dude there is nothing wrong with reason as a software it just the person using it. I use reason for only a year thats after putting in like 9 years on FL Studio and my beats are fire sound wise and layout. Just step your eq game up in the end thats what really matters once you switch to reason its hard to go back at least for me that is.
I feel just the same. This is some good shit man. Everyone always says this is better that's better but at the end of the day it's how you use and integrate the tools you have.
You can easily download reason off a torrent site, if you want to know message me and ill send you a link,, Ive used Reason through V2.0 - V4.0 now and ive always rocked it on my mac, check my vids, i got one with a reason beat on leopard.
You can ReWire. But there are tons of ReFills out there that give you the same, and usually better, sounds than a VST. =) Hell, there are Yamaha Motif ReFills for Reason. =) I have 'em. Along with Fantom X ReFills. =)
why rewire when you can do everything you do in reason in fl studio, and those fantom and motif refills can be used in fl studio too,i have reason 4.0,but i feel like it limits me too much,i rather use vst's like trilogy, hypersonic, nexus, papen blue, massive, and so on,try messing with fl studio,u'll see the huge difference, not to mention the synth maker in fl studio 8,that lets you make ur own synth, just try it,you wont be dissapointed
Well, everyone has their own opinions/preferences. But FL's overall sound quality is nothin' like Reason's quality. No matter what I do to an instrumental in FL, I can still tell a slight, but noticeable, difference in the sound quality. Reason sounds more clear. But it's cool. Whatever works, right? =) How do you use ReFills in FL? I've never heard of that. =P
well u must be doing something wrong because fl studio has better sound quality, specially if you give your instruments reverb and lil effects(which most producers do),and those reffils u are talking about arent legit, they come in wav files which you can use in any producing program,so there really isnt anything special about reason when it comes to sounds
LoL. I highly disagree. Ask anyone who REALLY knows the technical aspects of the two softwares. Face the facts. Reason has a better sound quality. Not that FL's is shitty ... it's not. But it doesn't compare much to Reason's quality. =P And those ReFills ... they ARE legit. They didn't come in wav's. They came in Reason's ReFill format. You load 'em up in the NNXT device and use 'em. They're perfectly legit. I know several people who bought 'em from the same place.
Please don't talk crap... I use both programs (FL 8.0 XXL and Reason 4.0 - with Rewire) and Reason is definately better in most views. Lot better sound quality, lot better effects, lot more freedom to do anything you like. But I'm not saying FL is bad, coz it is in some points superior to Reason: pitching is better with FL and there is much less overload in FL when using drums and bass a lot
well they do sound bad if your exporting everything without the hq and the normal 128kbits,change that when you export and then come talking, theres a difference between having bad effects and knowing how to use em,get ya producing game up homie, peace
ah well, not that much difference though if your ecporting it with 320 kbps. you can hear a slight change, but that change is still nothing when comparing reason quality to FL's... It's not that I'm a real Reason fan or sumthing, it's just how i experience it. I mean I use 4 programs to make beats: ACID Pro 7 , Reason 4.0 , Logic Studio 8 , FL Studio XXL 8.
FL produces the worst quality. Logic 8 the best. Don't get me wrong, FL has many nice stuff though (otherwise i wouldnt be using it)
think so 2...sound of FL sucks a bit .. i began with FL. its a nice program.u can start good with it but there are better ones..my favs r ableton live and reason
aahhhh... change the bass kick and make the pattern more groovy. no homo. and also lower the bass line an octave n you will have a masterpiece my friend.
sounds sorta like a West Coast mixed with East Coast flavor kind of beat i like it sounds raw. I got FL Studios I'm hinking about getting Reason but it seems alot more complicated and way different.
yea man u really need to get ur own web site to stream ur music. id love to hear ur music with out youtubes sound quality. i subscribed to ur channel so let me know if u get a web page. u rock! Keep producing!
man.. u should upload the song somewhere. even if its just a stream only option, id like to hear the song without the shitty youtube quality and all the clipping.
soundclick you can usually do it on there or other music sites you usually have to pay to join. Or just look for management for your tracks. get to work in full in studio and get your stuff out to artist
@Crhuber2008 can you send me download project

I'm new to Reason... is possible to import a wav file and use as a note of the keyboard with different pitches depending on the key you press?
Domenicozzo 2 years ago
ja youll have to use the nn xt sampler to do that youtube it or right me if u cant figure
kerone030 2 years ago
thanks, I did it with the nn xt, is also possible to keep the tempo constant, so only the pitch changes?
Domenicozzo 2 years ago
Yes, you can do that. Download the free program Audacity so you can import and convert your mp3s to wav file. You can even get ReCycle and chop it up in there if you want. However, you can import the wave file into NN XT and chop it up there and have the different parts assigned to keys. I use Dr. Rex and NN XT for sampling. When I want a sample as is, I use NNXT, but for chopped sample beats I use Dr. Rex.
enachioken 2 years ago
Cool, but in NNXT it's possible to have only the pitched changed, not the tempo of the sample? I mean depending on the key you press...
Domenicozzo 2 years ago
Unfortunately, NO. When you change the pitch in NNXT it also changes the speed(tempo) of the sample.

why rewire when you can do everything you do in reason in fl studio, and those fantom and motif refills can be used in fl studio too,i have reason 4.0,but i feel like it limits me too much,i rather use vst's like trilogy, hypersonic, nexus, papen blue, massive, and so on,try messing with fl studio,u'll see the huge difference, not to mention the synth maker in fl studio 8,that lets you make ur own synth, just try it,you wont be dissapointed
phorse323 3 years ago
Well, everyone has their own opinions/preferences. But FL's overall sound quality is nothin' like Reason's quality. No matter what I do to an instrumental in FL, I can still tell a slight, but noticeable, difference in the sound quality. Reason sounds more clear. But it's cool. Whatever works, right? =) How do you use ReFills in FL? I've never heard of that. =P
matt040287 3 years ago
well u must be doing something wrong because fl studio has better sound quality, specially if you give your instruments reverb and lil effects(which most producers do),and those reffils u are talking about arent legit, they come in wav files which you can use in any producing program,so there really isnt anything special about reason when it comes to sounds
phorse323 3 years ago
I know several people who bought 'em from the same place.
matt040287 3 years ago
well theres only one way to know, how bout we make a beat upload on here and let people decide which one has better sound quality
phorse323 3 years ago
Please don't talk crap... I use both programs (FL 8.0 XXL and Reason 4.0 - with Rewire) and Reason is definately better in most views. Lot better sound quality, lot better effects, lot more freedom to do anything you like. But I'm not saying FL is bad, coz it is in some points superior to Reason: pitching is better with FL and there is much less overload in FL when using drums and bass a lot
mdie1234 3 years ago
well they do sound bad if your exporting everything without the hq and the normal 128kbits,change that when you export and then come talking, theres a difference between having bad effects and knowing how to use em,get ya producing game up homie, peace
phorse323 3 years ago
ah well, not that much difference though if your ecporting it with 320 kbps. you can hear a slight change, but that change is still nothing when comparing reason quality to FL's...
Don't get me wrong, FL has many nice stuff though (otherwise i wouldnt be using it)

think so 2...sound of FL sucks a bit .. i began with FL. its a nice program.u can start good with it but there are better ones..my favs r ableton live and reason

soundclick you can usually do it on there or other music sites you usually have to pay to join. Or just look for management for your tracks. get to work in full in studio and get your stuff out to artist
