man they are trying to mix the two most differant styles of music , give them some room !! :) It was a great effort to unite the two totally differant genres , as qawalli and classical are based more on improvisaton and orchestra is all about composition ! I would say it was a great effort , more things like this can create magic !! ;)

im no expert in orchestra but something dont sound right. Both the orchestra and khan saab are amazing but i dont hear the connection. during this qwaali khan saab doesn't sound comfortable, if u listen at 2:23 khan sab actuali loses focus on his raag, stops and restarts to complete it. Overall a fantastic effort from both!

just my opinion, but this sounds crap..i mean Khan Sahab didnt need an army to make qawali sound great, he was enough but along with his party who were passionate made it so awesome. the ones doing the chorus sound dead, orchestra is not compatible and i would have prefered a traditional qawali to remembering Khan Sahab.

I was there for this concert and at first you do feel the orchestra sounds out of tune (something that my mum found difficult to adjust to in the beginning) but once you forgot that there was an orchestra and just listened to the composition and qawwali and appreciated it you actually were able to get lost in the atmosphere and enjoy it...this was one of the best concerts i've been to in a long time...And my mum ended up loving it to by the end

@FaisalDaDon dont you remember qawalis like Dum Mast Qalandar - Nusrat sang them with electric guitars and all kinds of synthetic sounds, at least the orchestra gave it a sense of class.
