  • idk what you have learned since this video was posted, but of course some of the figures are now in the Crafts Barn in Ghost Town. The (I think) "Chug-A-Chug machine" or w/e it was called was repainted to become one of Prof. I.F. Wells' machines in KOD. I don't know what happened to it after that. Some of the frogs found homes with designers and such, so a few of them apparently still exist. I don't know much else about where things ended up, though.

  • @kittykitty0204 i was able to learn more as time went on, i saw the bears back last year and i wish i saw the frog's! also i wonder if they the chug-a-chug is still around up in the abandoned building... since they have removed many pieces from that scene but in the later areas it's intact. pictures exist just search on google "KOD is dead" sadly it's a sad reminder of what use to exist.

  • haha season of screams dvd

  • and on top of that they closed the kingdom of the dinosuars!

  • WHAT ON EARTH! D : I would rather have a knotts beary ride Then a DiNoSaUr Ride D : ............

  • what the heck? that is so freaky! lol

    you're so funny :-)

  • Im not scared

  • Disney would never buy knotts. I would like to see the employees own Knotts.

  • knotts is better off with cedar park operating it, imagine mickey mouse, and goofy running around there, how lame is that, higher $ !the calico mine and the log ride would be filled up with cartoon figures.

  • The ride will never be Rebuilt.

  • toby maguire? is that you? hahahaha!

  • no lol

  • Funny stuff...Thanks for the freaky commentary too ; )

  • when was this shot?

  • 1982

  • A few years back Disney was going to buy Knott's Berry Farm and make it Disney's America which would keep many of the attractions, (including Bear-y Tales and the rapids) but Knotts thought Disney would destroy all the farm's landmarks but Cedar Fair in the end destroyed mostly all of them.

  • yes i think disney would of bought it.then they would bring bear-y tales back.but at the time when they were going to buy bear-y tales wasnt around by then.the ride closed in 1987 for kingdom of the dinos.but if they bought it i am preatty sure they would bring it back in the same space.but there are huge rumors of knott's resurrecting bear-y tales.

  • The original from the 80's was definitely better. Of course, that was before Cedar began totally demolishing the park. I don't mind a few coasters, but they actually took the Church Of Reflections off the lake....what sense does that make?!

  • it is stupid why cedar fair did that.but i think disney would of been good owner

  • At least the mine train and log ride are still there. Did you get the DVD today?

  • i havnt checked yet.i hope they do.i think why they did not deliver it was cause of the earthquake.i hope they deliver it today.if not i am going to call them.

  • The Extinct attractions dvd, does it only have Knott's rides? If it has Disney rides too please post them! I have some 1959 16mm footage of Disneyland my grandpa made including the original Submarines, Monorail, Matterhorn, and the burning settler's cabin, complete with dead cowboy! Should I post it?

  • extinct attractions has most of the past rides in other theme parks.i only bought the bear-y tales dvd. i will get more later on.

  • yeah you can post.:)

  • did you say "Dr Fucks?"

  • DR FOX.

  • oh thanks, because I like Knotts Berry Farm (but in my opinion, I think Universal is better)

  • yeah

  • good news!there has been talk the attraction will return!i will post the proof soon.if my camera is fixed

  • I bet Kingdom of Dinosaurs would have a great Halloween overlay too!

  • i think it does have a overlay.i dont know if Kingdom of dinosaurs does.

  • Even though the scary stuff is lame, the whole ride is scary because you are going through a dark ride with most of the animatronics covered up.

  • Is this an older Knott's Scary Farm when the attraction was still around?

  • yes it was by the same year it closed to be converted into kingdom of the dinosaurs in 1986.but kingdom of dinos closed in 2004.so many people are saying a new dark ride will be at knott's or the return of knott' beary tales.

  • Bear-y was my favorite ride. Around, 1987 or 1988, I saw one of the frog characters in my friend's apartment. He said that he found it in a dumpster on Beach Blvd. But, he eventually threw it away. I started going to Haunt in 1984, and now I work it every year.

  • i heard the figures were dumped but they werent.they are now figures of the halloween haunt with their skin removed to be turned into monsters.i hope bear-y tales will come back since the kingdom of dinos is closed.

  • Wow!

  • i forgot to metion that rolly crump designed the attraction and characters.it was the first ride in knoots berry farm to approach disney style since the figures moved just like disney's.

  • Does anyone know who did the voices for the characters? They were like Disney's Audio Animatronics(TM) (I know designer Rolly Crump worked for BOTH Disney AND Knotts!).

  • i dont know but if someone has a video of the original version of bear-y tales i could tell who voiced the characters in the ride cause i never seen the original version only pics i found of the original version.

  • I found out now! the voice actors for the characters were the same actors that did the voices for the country bears at disneyland.

  • But did Scary Tales still smell of boysenberry pie? ;-)

Interesting, if primitive, early Haunt overlay, but it does show glimpses of the original Bear-y Tales ride if you use your imagination. (Okay, that black drape is hiding the wolf, and that one's hiding the frogs, and...) Thanks!
