Okay, well RED cameras are revolutionary in the sense that they are affordable (compared to other shooting methods of the same caliber), shoot at a higher then HD quality (2k and 4k are higher steps up above 1080p) and the cameras are rugged and user configurable (meaning that it'll stand up to the use in the field and it can be built up to any need of any filmmaker). The cameras also shoot film quality footage in a digital format which is crucial in today's world!
