  • Roger has a great voice, like made for voice acting.

  • Just found this. Fucking ace. Thanks for posting!

  • did you hear the fool say "its fine to put advertising on tv, because im not paying" i guess he doesnt have cable or satalite..

  • this is why most movies suck.. nobody makes their art, they just do what they think will sell to the most people.. make the most money.. they try to do what the audience wants, rather than being original.. now, that does please alot of people, but that doesnt equate to quality, whatsoever. . most people's taste is garbage

  • he cares about making money off movies, and thats about it

  • I'd watch Snoop in the woods while he rubs two sticks together.

  • When I started watching this video, I was only interested in, and knew of, 4 people sitting at that table.

    Nothing has changed since.

  • 4 very interesting people at that table...

  • What's the black guy doing there? Filling a quota?

  • @Craigmin I'm assuming he's a guy who has made a name for himself in films and comedy, instead of sitting at a computer with no life wondering "What's the black guy doing here?".

  • If I had known about this interview, I would've been there.

Invited, not invited...I woulda been the guy with the gun.

  • I love how soft spoken and sarcastic Rob zombie is.

  • When the rest of the guys laugh at what Roger is saying, they're laughing at him not with him. $200,000 on special effects for Dinocroc and it looks like some 8th graders made it with CGI on A.V. class!

I think it would be cheaper and better to use animatronics.

  • @JonDeth I don't think they're laughing at him at all - they know, and Corman himself knows that they know, that Corman movies are notoriously low budgeted and have an obvious reputation for being so.

I think they're very respectful of Corman, as they should be.

  • @Johnny6666 respectful like when Bruce will not let him finish a sentence and keeps stepping all over what he's saying every 3 words?

I think they could not help but laugh because Roger's movies are notoriously bad but he just refuses to stop making them. I am astounded that he actually turns a profit!

  • @JonDeth No, I think Campbell is clearly respectful. Remember, this could also be the result of editing.

And I don't see Campbell 'stepping all over what he's saying' at all. Corman has the floor for quite some time in this segment, with no interruptions - Campbell is just clarifying what he's saying, or extending a question.

  • @Johnny6666 get real!

When Roger is talking about Carnisour, Bruce rudely interrupts him several times. Let the man speak for himself, he doesn't need someone putting words in his mouth. Clarify nothing, he's trying to rush them past what Corman is attempting to say. You need a fucking dictionary, grammar and etiquette lessons, clarify my ass.

    Not interrupting?

Does the vice president interrupt the president when he's speaking?

    No.

  • @JonDeth I think you're seeing something that really isn't there...

  • Faizon, dude, stop saying fuck.

I say fuck A LOT (bad habit, I know) and even I think he said it too many times. =P

  • What year?

  • NERDGASM!!!!!!!!!!

  • Bruce Campbell and Rob Zombie . . . . my two favorite famous people, also why is rob so quiet

  • Roger Corman and Bruce Campbell... I'm nerding out so hard right now.

  • Call me a nerd, but I love all this talk of budget and spending and returns.

  • i would love to have been on this table, man what a divine setting of awesome people!

  • fa n of rob zombie and roger corman and bruce campbell.

  • Garry Shandling wrote an episode of Sanford and Son where they go camping, and naturally it ends in disaster. I would like to see a black version of Mike Leigh's 'Nuts in May' - that could be great. Address the class issues within the black community. That that idea, someone, and run with it! Hilarity shall ensue.

  • fuckin faizon love, why is he there? theres 20 people that would better for this table than him

  • I agree wtih that part about the commercials before the movie is bullshit. The trailers I don't mind, but the commercials always piss me off. (Unless it's something that isn't annoying as hell, but other than that, I hate them.) When Bruce Campbell said "It's insane, cause I'm paying now, don't make me sit down and suffer through that crap." I was like, "BINGO, that's exactly what I think about that." I love Rob, Bruce, and Faizon in this Dinner For Five, they were awesome and very funny.

  • Aye pirating is kinda lame. Sure its free but its not like a dvd is going to break the bank account. If you like what you are watching and want to see more of the same type of films then you should buy it.

  • Word@ the commercials before the movies. Total bullshit.

  • Like black people have never been on a plane

  • faizon love is a steppin fetching which is why JF has him on so often. He clowns and he is fat and greasy and he can't speak in complete sentences. He fits the Huggy Bear Pimp black guy fantasy for many people. He makes them comfortable. He's not fitting in this episode because the rest of the guests are very creative and intelligent men who have made their own success by having guts and integrity. He isn't included in the conversation unless JF needs him to comic relief. Sellout.

  • Just throwing it out there: I'm sick of paying money for the progressively crappier crap out there. I buy books, DVD's or pay for music if I like it or if it's not total crap. One thing that really gets me is when the advertising misrepresents a product.

  • faz love is funny because he puts the white guys in akword positions but what he says is lagitamently funny so they don't know if it's cool to laugh or not. damn this is a real good episode.

  • Bruce is pretty damn knowledgeable about old movies.

  • i just find it amazing that they're all wanting to talk to Corman, wanting to hear his stories and whatnot, it's really nice to see that they all respect him.

  • @SuperXAsh Yes, and taking notes on business strategies lol

  • I can't imagine telling Bruce Campbell you'd download one of his movies. The problem with this whole illegal pirating thing is that everyone who does it thinks they're some sort of crusader taking on big corporations which is obviously ridiculous. They try to justify their laziness with it. It's an excuse, but like I said people actually think it's good because they're sticking it to the man even though they fuck guys like Bruce Campbell. These guys make much of their money from DVD sales.

  • @Rarab2 I agree completely. Plus it's completely different to downloading music. One song doesn't cost a million dollars to make.

  • @Rarab2

but also it sucks that where i live its hard to get (almost impossible) to find any bruce campbell stuff i.e brisco county jr, Army of darkness, jack of all trades etc etc you can find like the original evil dead and evil dead 2 from some video/dvd rentstores but they usually dont want to sell the dvds..it suvks, i don't want to dl Bruces stuff cause he is just too real and his stuff is classic :D

  • @Rarab2

The problem is, that these filmmakers are working in an intangible medium. The product can be shared or copied at no cost with little effort. This means that your product intrinsically has less value. You've got to be able to adapt to the conditions of the market.

  • @Rarab2 I dont think that a lot of people think that they are crusaders. often i will pirate a movie and then buy it later if it was good.

  • @Rarab2 ...mmm they make most of there money in box office opening night etc..

  • @Rarab2 Ive downloaded a couple Bruce movies in the past. Ive actually ended up buying each of those movies a couple of times afterwards. Within the woods is the only one ive downloaded and not bought because you cant get it anywhere.

  • @Rarab2 thats y i bought evil dead 1 and 2 and army of darkness same with cds

  • corman is awesome

  • Corman is KING.

  • ash v. michael myers. anyone?

  • It would be like End of Days... only BETTER (and funnier)

  • Ash!

  • Somehow I think Ash would confuse Michael Myers for the guy who plays austin powers, and then crap himself when he came face to face. Ash would still completely destroy Michael myers though.

  • "You think the bootlegs fucked up Soul Plan?!" Soul Plane was a terrible movie...that I downloaded....with Tom Arnold....(who was funny in True Lies)....

  • Roger Cormans' voice is very soothing, I could listen to him all day.

  • How does Roger Corman live, the guy is old as young dirt but he seems so clear and ALIVE... how can i end up like that in my 70s or 80s?

  • he just seems like a man who loves what he does.

  • Absolutely agreed.

  • rob zombie and bruce campbell need to make a movie to gether

  • thex65: "rob zombie and bruce campbell need to make a movie to gether"

Yeah, if that ever happened, it would basically be like PORN for me. Good god. But then, anything even remotely connected to Bruce Campbell excites me, so...

On a related note, Sam Raimi needs to get his shit together, kick Bruce's ass into shape (or not, fuck it), AND MAKE EVIL DEAD IV. We don't want your excuses, JUST DO IT.

    I'LL SWALLOW YOUR SOUL, SAM.

    I'LL SWALLOW YOUR SOUL.

P.S. I know Ted will be in this.

  • "That's great!! Shit." Way to add to the conversation.

  • Rogers voice is so cool

why is Faizon there? all the others are involved in Horror/Sci-Fi

  • Faizon and Favreau were in a movie called the replacements. That's the only connection I can think of.

  • Favreau also directed the Will Farell Chistmas flick Elf, Faizon acted as the Gimble's store manager.

  • Favreau also directed and co-starred with Faizon in "Made." Faizon is part of the Favreau-Vaughn troop. Faizon is also in "Couples Retreat," co-written and co-starring Favreau and Vaughn.

  • They also did Made together, which is like the unofficial sequel to Swingers

  • that was a good movie

  • i agree .... i wish robert englund or clive barker were in faizons chair .... faizon doesnt fit in here .... im just watching this for bruce and rob .....

  • excatly

  • He's very funny though.

  • AAAAAAW THE BOOTLEGS

  • white men can't jump

    black people can't camp

  • why the hell would they invite that big black guy? The others all have cool things to say but him.

  • great stuff!

  • Groovy.

  • Fascinating!

  • Great episode, it's cool that they give ideas for getting a movie made.

Oh yeah, Bruce Campbell rules! I saw the pilot for "evil dead" (within the woods) it was good.

  • My guitar teacher got to meet Rob Zombie. No lie. His movies are good, some of them messed up, but he's a cool guy. I like him and I LOVE BRUCE CAMPBELL!

  • Love his music and his videos, don't dare watch his movies. Bruce Campbell's stuff is more to my taste.

  • usually its favreau that doesnt let people talk or he just finishes their sentences for them.

  • Well when you're as badass as Bruce Campbell, you have a right to talk about yourself as much as you want.

  • Faizon Love seems out of place

  • OMG Jon Favreau lost so much weight after Iron Man!!!!!!!!

Its like Peter Jackson after king Kong.

  • this was three years ago...

  • BOOMSTICK!

  • I want to see an episode about do-it-yourself creative genius filmmakers, like Bakshi, Harryhausen, Raimi and Kaufman.

  • Its hard to believe you when you say it once and then come back two weeks later to say it again idiot.

  • I like Faizon Love, but he kind of seems like a fifth wheel on this one.

  • they should this again but argento, cronenberg, bava, dante, roth, and many others.

  • The absolute best comment I've read in awhile.

  • why hank you

  • Agreed, I'd also like to see Englund as he was an actor, producer, and director.

  • that would fucking rock

  • i wonder why with evil dead one and two there were heavy horror themes but in army of darkness it was much more a horror comedy. maybe a communtary on ash's state of mind after being beseiged by demons for so long

  • army of darkness was more comedy because they were contractualy obligated to deliver an r rating.

  • Both Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness are horror comedies. In a way all three are. The first Evil Dead is a straight, dark, scary horror film, but it has a lot of comedic undertones. The violence is very slapsticky in places. They wanted to make the second one more of a rollercoaster ride than the original so as such it has alot of black comedy, slapstick violence and comic routines (example Ash fighting his severed hand). Army of Darkness is the same.

  • Well, Sam Raimi loves slapstick from The Three Stooges.

Main reason he made Evil Dead so horrific was likely cause he of course wanted to make a good horror film but also knew that at that time people mostly wanted to watch horror films not comedies.

EVII was made to bridge the gap between EV and AOD.

Army Of Darkness was what Sam wanted EVII to be, he went back to his comedic roots and Universal wanted the movie to get a PG13 rating though it wound up getting an R rating in the end.

  • nice to see filmmakers (especially ones like these) talking about how movie theatres suck now and movie downloading.

  • "So tell us about Happy Campers" haha

  • just recently discovered the evil dead trilogy. did not know what i was missing all these years. if you watch evil dead watch it with both commentaries, fracking awesome. just watched army of darkness for the first time yesterday and laughed my arse off. bruce campbell is the best actor ever. read his book if chins could kill it is fantastic, damn him all to hell for being so......talented

  • i could listen to bruce campbell talk all day long about anything and everything. i LOOOOVE bruce campbell. we share a kindred spirit he's a fellow michigander and we share the same birthday and same smartass quirkiness, i think it's in all that fresh great lakes water.

  • Bruce Campbell should do the voice for those GPS's.

  • Roger Corman did Carnosaur 6! It was called Raptor! ( hahahaha Eric Roberts )

  • they made numerous ones in the mid nineties, as the gentleman stated in the video.

i don't know why you would watch it if you're not gonna pay attention.

  • Haha just wait, they are going to make a Carnosaur movie.

  • Rogers cool

  • wtf is this? they get hired to eat together?

  • Its a show on IFC...The host gets 4 celebs together to eat and discuss things.

  • Faizon Love gets pretty drunk, lol.

  • damn that jack nickolson lol and bootleg killed soulplane lolz

  • i think you mean simon pegg

  • what the fuck does that have to do with this video. you need to get a girl...looser

  • I love Zombie and Favreau's response to Faizon's comment. Soul Plane was stupid and full of stereotypes, so how's that black people in the woods movie doing? Funny stuff. I love when Rob Zombie says blunty, "Sounds funny..."

  • i had never heard of this dinner for five thing before but im glad i saw it now its good:)

  • Bruce would lay a beat down on Simon Cowell. It would be awesome.

  • dont you mean simon pegg

  • thats because he's a Bigshot in hollywood. these guys respect him and i think it's awesome how much repect there showing for him because i love all the movies ive seen that were produced by Roger

  • roger corman is FAR from a big hot in Hollywood. He is a big shot in cult circles, but doesnt hold much respect with the studios or mainstream audiences. Sadly.

  • ...sadly...

  • Man that Roger Corman has an awesome presence. He's softspoken, but once he starts talking, everyone shuts up and listens.

  • He seems like such a nice man too.

  • Sweet.

  • your mom's incredibly overrated....stupid noob

  • BROOCE FOR EMPEROR!

  • oh sorry

  • For anyone who's interested in making an indie film,it's good to hear from the pros like Bruce,Rob and Roger..Anyone that loves movies, should watch this.

  • Yeah in the first part Bruce TRULY gave some important advice to aspiring filmakers concerning copyrights and business with investors. Alot of people dont do that anymore.

  • Great stuff. Just wish the fat fuck would stop interupting.

  • dude he was invited too , plus hes funny

  • Not the black guy, the one with the beard.

  • Thanks for posting! Interesting "insider" conversation.

  • BRUCE CAMPBELL IS A FUCKING HERO ILL WATCH ANYTHING WITH HIM IN IT

jus caus hes a comic genius i tihnk:)

i even played that shit evil dead game a few years back jus for his one liners in it haha

  • Hes eating at a fancy restaurant for free and talking about films with Bruce Campbell from Evil Dead and Roger Corman who is a fellow director of some cult classic horror movies. Why would he not want to be a part of that? Yeah it can be boring but aspiring film makers really learn alot from this show. I know I do.

  • ME too. People who say that this stuff is boring cannot honestly consider themselves Evil Dead fans. OR SAM RAIMI films. If you REALLY liked those movies, you'd care about the star of the films, Bruce Campbell. I find this inspiring.

  • oh yeah? rob can learn from these guys a lot, trust me

  • Dude you cant even spell rob

  • rob's music isn't bad. man without fear is awesome.

  • Bruce Campbell would kick Chuck Norris' Bruce Lee's and Rob Zombies ass all at once.

  • I love this show it feels so natural, like you're sitting at the table with them. The only problem is I hate when they interrupt each other.

  • thank for uploading these
