Picture it! Miami 1985 a wonderful sicilian, a naive sweddish meatball, a slutty southerner, and the every so sarcastic divorcee. Together these four old broads live together, eat cheesecake, and begin a new chapter for telvision history. And today we remember them as the golden girls. Years later we lose our divorcee and that evil little sicilian gecko, and its not fair. Stay golden girls maybe we will met again one day!

I will remember with Estelle Getty cracking us up as Sophia. She's always be beloved in her signature role as Dorothy's mother. Without Estelle Getty, Golden Girls might have not gotten off the ground. Estelle Getty brought her magic and humor to Golden Girls. She will always be remembered and beloved for her most memorable part of the Golden Girl. She will be missed.

I havent missed an episode of golden girls and i tape it daily on dish with my dvr. i watch them every day. they are as great today as they were 20 something years ago. kinda like Dean Martin and his variety show. Timeless!!

Estelle is still alive but she has Lewy Body Dementia which has similar effects to that of Alzheimer's and Parkinsons. It has the countdown to her 85th birthday on her website.

She's so strong! I love her in the Golden Girls. Especially the episode when Dorothy [i think it's Dorothy] asks what she did all day and she says "The same thing I do everyday, I go out to the store and buy an apricot" or something similar. It's hilarious :]
