Compared to many songs that play on modern radio stations, Drake's Best I Ever Had is a pretty neat song.
However, it doesn't compare to this. You can really feel the soul and LOVE of this band through their voices. It's easy to tell he is in fact falling in love again.
@weeger23 you don't know the first thing about hip hop. Drake didn't steal anything, it's called "SAMPLING". Another thing, Drake's not the one who made the beat, Boi-1da did. You guys all need to stop blaming the artists like they're the ones who make the beats, and start giving the Music Producers more credit and recognition for making something great out of something else tht was also great at one point in time (unless your J.Cole, or Kanye West).
Great hit & yea as ive been reading it does sound very good .....this was one of few i use to really like for white boy music (no offense homeboys)....do they have remakes of this hit?
Thank you from the bottom of my heart MusicMike2 for this great song and for Winners and Losers, I feel like I'm going to get dressed for high school and go...and I'm 49 years old! I appreciate these two songs! :)
Heard this on Radio 2 today and can't say I've ever heard it before, but the 70's were my era, so why not? It's absolutely fabulous and I know it's going down on my favourites list. Thank you so much for posting it here for me to listen to.
Heard this today on Radio 2. Timing couldnt have been better. I was travellling home after 3 weeks away working. Roof down, sea on the horizon knowing I would be back with my family within the hour
Dude, your sound is as good from the vinyl the way you did it, as coming from a CD.Flawless,no crackles or nothing.Cool.We had a lot of great music back in the 70's and 60's and even in the 80's,but no decade of music could touch the 70's.I am a rocker from way back, but I also loved the slower stuff like this a little mellow and easy to the ears music.I was also a big disco fan even though a lot of people weren't,their loss. But I'll always be a rocker and now I rock for Jesus! Take care.
@thecoolestdad ----Thank you. My copy of this LP is very clean. It did have a few clicks and pops but I have a "secret" formula that I use that gets rid of them all.....unless of course it is a scratch or nick. Back in the day, I worked for a time as a sound engineer.....clicks and pops on vinyl were always a big disappointment after working so hard to get a recording to sound "just right". I especially like how this song sounds so good from a quality cartridge and a tube amp.
@MusicMike2 Gotta disagree, the crackles and pops are what makes vinyl real, it's the best thing about vinyl in my opinon... gives it a soul. I much prefer it over clean digital music where it's either on or silent.
I was 9 years old when this jam came out. Never owned it on vinyl, but I have been searching for this song in record shops since I was in the military in the 80's. Thanks to MusicMike2 and YouTube, finally got it. THANKS!!!!
Awesome, yes this was happy feel good music, it put a smile on your face, when I hear the crap they play today I just want to put a gun to my head. The 70's were a great decade.
I played this album to death when I bought it in 1976...I'll never forget it smelled like roses..really did-for years--winners and losers another great one from this album!!
Fantastic job on this song!!! What memories this brings back..I wanna go back to the 70's. So much fun, such great music. Thank you for helping me to go back for just a few minutes.
I'm 58 years old and remember when this song came out. Very beautiful love song. I was playing in a rock band at the time and we were playing heavier songs.
Songs then were about Love! ...... Today it is all evil sounding oversexualized trash. Ask youself why? You may think it sounds crazy but it's all part of a plan. Subvert and destroy the culture to prepare the people for conquest. Look through the Matrix folks, there is a storm coming.
This song is just so amazing!! Always loved this one!! Takes me back to better days. This song takes me back to days of true happiness and innocence. I miss those days. My heart just aches for those days so much. What a time that was! Never to be forgotten! There was a magic in the air back then that you just cant feel today and that is a real shame. This song is pure magic in itself! Missing those days but hold the memories in my heart forever!! ☺♥
I am trying to find the original recording of this song - all they have on Itunes or Amazon are crappy counterfeit re-recorded versions. Maybe other people can't tell the difference, but I can . I wish I could grab this off U-Tube - it's just like I remember it. If anyone knows how I can get a MP3 of this version, I would be grateful.
@buechst: There are freeware programs that can be used to do exactly that...search on the software download sites for something called Any Audio Converter, which can be used to download YouTube videos as MP3s.
@buechst .Damn aint THAT the truth.. Not only is the music posted on U-Tube so much better than ANY paid version...you can find pretty much any kind of amazing forgotten song on here!I found songs I've haven't heard in years here !
@KwyatMan Drake sampled the intro to a song, I've heard it last year while were out in the van hearing this rap song on the radio, but I'm not a fan of rap music in general. I like the original song better than Drake's sampling.
Quando c'erano i "lenti"... Facevi il giro della pista. "Balli?". Grazie!
Man, I love this song. Grew up with great classics like this. This was a # 1 song and deservedly so. They don't write them like this anymore. This audio clarity in this video DOES sound incredible. Wow!
For anyone who encounter the David Hasselhoff effort before hearing this original, wonderful version of this song, please do what you can to block the former from your mind.
Man! You talk about bringing back memories! I was 9 yrs. old when this came out. Disco era was hopping, flared pants, high heel shoes. But this is the BOMB! Love it. One of the best, crisp, sounding songs. Finally, someone that knows how to mix. Thanks MusicMike2 for keeping me young.
One more response and I'll quit bugging you.............ha.....I've played in bands all of my life and grew up on the 70's stuff. My brother and I (who is the drummer) pulled this song back up and played it thru his big subwoofer he has connected to his computer! Wow! Dude! I wish you could've heard the bass response and the clarity of his system!!! We played it about 6 or 7 times in a row! (like a bunch of dand kids who found a new toy! Ha) Thanks again man....great job!!!!!!!!!
@MusicMike2 Hi Mike, thank you so much for sharing all your awesome music from the 70's & 80's. It's so refreshing to hear the old school music that isn't full of profanities and did not require lewd videos to make their songs "classics" From the music fans in Australia & New Zealand.
Hey Mike! I ran down the hall here at work and brought in some co-workers to check it out! They all said the very same thing I did..."Man, that song sounds better than I actually remember it from back then."..... You've done a great job with these tunes and we all say...."KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK"!!!!!
This guy had a great Pop Radio voice for the time! It's so believeable because it makes you think he's really singing to his woman. He's just got to let her know that he loves her........that's what's missing from "whatever you want to call this mess we have today"...no soul at all. No real feeling to it......the 70's had it all!!! Thank you for posting this song!!!!!!!
I have to admit...this is by far the best sounding video on Youtube! They should hire you to do all of them...ha! All jokes aside...these songs take us back to when life was so much better. Our generation had "real music" that actually meant something and we were actually listening to the songs. We held onto them because they meant so much to us....I'm 44 and remember when this first hit the radio airwaves! Makes me want to hold my woman at this very moment.....You did a great job with it!
@Strongdonk1 --- Thank you for the compliment on the sound. I try my best to deliver a sound for all of my uploads that is similar to the way you might remember hearing the song on a high quality FM stereo radio. Sometimes I exceed this.
Never can remember that opening bass so clear. This song may be a piece of mid 1970s soft rock AM radio ballad cheese but it's been a favorite since I was a kid. I understand every style runs its course but I miss that time when some musicians got together and produced songs with solid arrangements that reflected an individual vision. Today, all the songs are built around a watered down groove or a redundant song structure and everything sounds like it is written and recorded by committee.
Man I loved this one the first time I ever heard it and it still sounds just as good as it did way back when...to my ears..so many memories .. they were great....love their voice...and the arrangement of this one...thumbs up...
What a charming that glissando of the bass line in 0,15min, its a great tip top at the beginning of the song , this masterpiece is plenty of harmony, great voices and very moving to me !! Thanks for share it and the sound !
FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE SONG 1-12 SECONDS WAS SAMPLED AND LOOPED
AND AS THE BEAT CONTINUED IT KEEPS LOOPING THE SAMPLE EVERY 12 SECONDS AND U CAN ALSO HEAR THE CYMBALS IN THE SAME SYNCHRONIZATION AS THE ORIGINAL SONG
SO YES ITS OBVIOUS STOLEN THE PRODUCER ONLY ADDED SOME UP-TO DATE KICKS AND SNARES TO THE ORIGINAL SONG
I AM A MUSIC PRODUCER AND I GOT GOOD EARS AND I COULD HEAR EVERYTHING
I'll tell y'all something: one good thing about YouTube is that it offers music lovers a glipse of what yesterday's music was like, rather than just having us hearing the today's craps being aired through the radio wave; this is one cool tune; and it doesn't get much aired much...except through some supermarket speakers!!!
Boy, does this bring back memories of the summer of '75. Hey MusicMike - where is your usual introduction and history lesson? Seemed a little empty without you.
new vinyl they r gougin 4, it was about 10 bucks new in the late 80s and used in the 90s was cheap couple of bucks to under 10, but now its 20 - 40 bucks NEW! either brand new artist or reissues
Mike...this is one of my all-time favorites, and the sound is crisp, clear, best sounding vid of this ever on the Tube.I know, because I've heard all of them.Makes you appreciate this great song even more!...Mike
Thanks for noticing. I'm always striving to deliver the very best audio. This particular track was transferred using a tube amplifier. Although the video is important, the audio MUST be excellent.

Thanks for noticing. I'm always striving to deliver the very best audio. This particular track was transferred using a tube amplifier. Although the video is important, the audio MUST be excellent.

Some scents never leave your memory...like turntables. Great time for music, lovely song.
