And you're right, that expander tool sucks in tight spaces. But Wirsbo thought of that and came up with the cordless expander tool that costs $1500. I'll stick to crimping rings. I've never had one PEX leak, freeze break, copper ring corrode, etc in more than 10 years.
I've used it and I have the certification card, I just don't prefer it. In north Texas, most people feel the same way I do. Zurn PEX outsells Wirsbo by far.
and then you have to wait to turn the water on, and then you shouldn't move it AT ALL or it will leak, and then you better hope you have clearance for that silly ass expander tool to work, and then you better not put any pressure on those cheap ass plastic fittings or they will break. Wirsbo SUCKS.
I use wirsbo turn up right after it's done, never have any leaks. However I make repairs the pbl using the crimp style all the time. the copper rings corrode. Wirsbo is the better style

I dunno about the wirsbo/zurn controversy (I just started looking at using pex), but the audio on this video was pretty poor.
If anyone has links to discussion boards/info on the wirsbo/zurn thing, a pointer would doubtless be appreciated.

Go Wirsbo! His Vanguard expander tool wouldn't be very useful in tight crawlers.

JG is the best no tools, just push it to fit it!

Wirsbo is way nicer - no metal - no crimping - expand pipe to go on fitting and it shrinks back down.

Well you either haven't been taught right or you're a dough head - haven't had a leak or problem in years.
