  • I'm not trying to be a dick, but this guy would be a lot less irritating if he got throat cancer. Again I wish him well and I hope he recovers swiftly if he does. But it would be a blessing.

  • Very enjoyable thank you

  • I hate how sperm whales don't care to orient themselves the bob up and down side side without pattern or purpose. I just don't like it

  • @38 seconds. Please find that fish and kill it. the crab deserves vengeance.

  • Great video! Loved it. However, I'd like to point out that in Mellville's Novel, Moby Dick was not after vengance, Capt Ahab was. Nor were sperm whales portrayed as marauding monsters, unless attacked :)

  • he has some balls

  • Thumbs up if u also think that Jonathan Bird looks like Kevin Connolly ( Eric Murphy in "Entourage")!!

  • wouldnt a person be easy pray for these guys? why not eat him?

  • Awesome footage!

  • Sperm whales aren't really whales.

  • @gghouck : Birds??

  • @MrBaebel no, they're sperm, Chuck Norris's sperm...

  • Gosh, those whales sure are gettting close! It would be really scary if they weren't such loving and magical-- *SPLORCH* Eew, Icky! Well kids, I guess now you know why they're called sperm whales!

  • reminds me of a medicated peewee herman

  • Stop talking so dam fucking much and show more whale.

  • It's true the sperm whale is the largest predator with teeth that's alive today.

  • the sperm whale has the largest brain of any living animal.

  • @chidiogoms Now tell it with a greater enthusiasm like that guy who says: "They're mammals, LIKE US!!" NO SHIT!!! I've never heard of that! Oooooh, so they have the largest brain of all living creatures? That is so fucking amazing! It has really changed the way I perceive the world around me!!

  • I assume that this is a Natural History programme for children? This Johnathan what's his name is talking to me as though I'm four again!

  • So THIS is where Steve from Blues Clues went. That son of a bitch.

  • heheh... sperm...

  • Great job man!

  • They don't want to waste the energy it takes to digest you. Too small, not worth it. Let's go get some giant squid, bro.

  • There not called PODS... they are family units, and you got to close. Show some respect.

  • :02-:04 that was how long it took to get annoyed of this dude.

  • I'm a homeschool mom, and I thought this guy has done an excellent job! I appreciate being able to incorporate some of these videos into our curriculum. It helps the learning process tremendously. Thank you.

  • ahaha sounds like a such a twat

  • Whale, whale, whale, what do we have here?

  • love the computer if there wasnt 1 i would not have seen this

  • yeah, not mean at all?? haha

    some people are totaly RE-tarded

  • Yes, it is a kids show!

But he provides you with useful information.

  • there fighting giant squid

  • There's no way to tell, being as how whales are VERY smart, that an old bull

who may have had dozens of experiences with ships & men, finally made the

association that a ship meant he was going to get harpoons thrown into his back.

Why wouldn't he then attack the ship in self-defense? I'm sure this could have

happened in Herman Melville's day when whaling ships by the hundreds were killing whales by the thousands. Who could blame Moby Dick for being pissed?

  • yeah what the hell man moby dick wasn't out for vengeance... ahab was

  • Either this is a kids show, or he thinks he's talking to a bunch of 9 year olds

  • @guitayrplaya

Dude, it IS a kids show.

  • Is there such a thing as an egg whale? lol

  • is this a show for children? The moderator talks to us as if we were children....

  • that was fascinating !!! thanks a lot for those stunning images, and just ignore those stupid comments about your enthousiastic voice !

usually morons gather around video games or pop singers, looks like sometimes sperm whales also attract them...

  • really cool video, except for the narration meant for sixth graders

  • this guy is a cock

  • jonathan is fuckin pee wee hermin

  • "is she going to eat me?" oh brother...

  • the sperm whale kids looks like poo

  • Sperm Whale....Moby Dick...>_>

  • @MychalMonstrousity lmfao i just realized that

  • this commentator is meant for 3 year olds Hope the whales don't eat him :)

  • @TheDirtdemon6 Well, sperm whales to have teeth, and open thier mouth more than often. It's not unheard of for a whale to either accidentally eat you, or intentionally. Ever heard of moby dick?

  • nice video

  • Comment removed

  • Absolutely Beautiful Footage. Thank you so much for sharing with us! ♥hugs♥

  • jeez he's talking to us like we're 12 years old T_T but this is really cool

  • sperm whale....AAAHAAHAHHAAHAHAHAAHAHA oh god, I'm sorry but....AHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA

anyway this guy is insane. not because he swims with sperm whales. he's just simply nuts.

  • No do you you fucking idiot!

You have no business viewing this video.

  • Why are they called that. I would've been insulted...

  • @Beeblez55 I have your answer to your sperm whale question. The reason for their name is thta they have a white waxy substance in their head that is called spermaceti and it looks like sperm.

  • why the fuck would a whale be mean?

  • @skatetilldeath6969 Because they are the largest toothed animal on the planet and they eat meat .

  • Awsome...but he dorky..hehheh

  • In my world the Female sperm whale HAS no Teeth,...only males do..and you have mis represented that female sperm whales have teeth,...you do not know what you are talking about as far as toothed whales.

  • @trianglepoints I'm not sure where your world is . but female sperm whales do have teeth. both female and male's have teeth on their lower jaw. some males have been found with a few on the upper jaw but not a full set.

  • @1:34 That guy is on speed.

  • Oh my god? is he thinking he's showing a kid program?

  • He should go and kiss Tilikum :P I betcha he is lonely

  • this guy is soo cheesy

  • Wow you got to have the best job in the world, I would love to do what you are doing. I'm a diver and have done cavern dives and Manatees but sharks and Sperm whales and ship wreks with explosives way cool! You rock where's the discovery channel weekly special for you.

  • only job better then this is masturbation and being paid for it full time. awesome video blueworld!!!

  • that kid i diagnose with heavy adhd

  • Im high at moment to. And also loving the video. If got a sperm whale tattoo. In the 18th century it ment strength. It was a kind of a talisman to the sailors in those day's. And a octopus ment always a save home coming. Got that one to. Now i need an seaturtle on my shoulder. It means protection. Haha living it high.

  • keep on token' my friends :)

  • I loved this video and i am very very high on marihuana, I love sperm whales, and they have been my favorite animal sinsce kintergarden, SPERM WHALES RULE FUCK YEAH IM HIGH

  • im stoned too :)

  • dudes got balls... i swam out to a cali gray whale once and immediately made a u turn when i saw how big the mofo was. Pretty sure sperm whales are bigger...

  • Why is this guy yelling and talking like people who are watching are idiots???

  • I was wondering that too, It's as if he's talking to children and not educated individuals, which is rather annoying.

  • rofl i see y there called sperm whales they look just like sperm

  • Actually, and there is more to it than this, I'm sure, Sperm whales are named after Spermicetti, an oily substance in their brain that whalers would extract when whaling times were more prominent. Spermicetti, I believe, is named after sperm for it does look similar to semen. You might look further into that, but I am almost certain that is generally correct.

  • Amazing. I don't think i'd ever be able to jump into the water like that guy, could you??

  • The one is my pants is called mobyDICK.

  • What do they call the one in your mouth ?

  • They call it the local brothel.

  • Eat him!!!!

  • The sperm whales is very very beautiful animals!!

  • no, i appreciate his efforts.

you on the other hand are a bozo.

  • you must be 6 years old then because thats how hes talking to you

  • @8Eriquo8

Yeah I was really hoping one of the whales was gonna go Moby Dick on him. "the clicking was pounding off of my chest..." would have been his last words

  • yes. i think he is trying to channel pee wee herman...

  • @8Eriquo8 Yes, right away....

  • @8Eriquo8 I'd push a sperm whale down that dudes throat

  • @8Eriquo8 why not feed him to the sperm whale!!!

  • ahhahahhahha sperm wale heheheh

i have discovered an new one blowjob wale

  • This dude was pretty brave. But anytime he was out of the water he was a complete goof.

  • this guys talks like a 5 year old

  • too bad he drowned at the end

  • Not really very dangerous. How many people have been killed by sperm whales? A few. How many sperm whales have been killed by humans? Thousands... Which is the dangerous animal? And which one pollutes the other's habitat?

  • waz up

  • ive tried 2 blow bubble rings like tht but it wasa horrid fail lol

  • isnt he scaryed of sharkes?

  • Dude, one could swallow you whole, I wouldn

t want to swim with them, I do enjoy watching other people put themself in danger though.

  • Johnathan Bird is a tool.

  • Moby Dick may be fiction but the whaling ship Essex was repeatedly rammed and sunk by a sperm whale. Melville actually gives a very good account of whaling and the nature of the sperm whale without resorting to the terms like "gentle giant". Not like this douche.

    Don't forget Jonah either...

  • Whales are smart. They probably recognize who is out to get them and who isn't.

  • "is she going to eat me?'

    retard

  • fuckin' retard

  • Those whales could have totally eaten that dude! And they had a baby, that mother was probably telling him to go the f away!

  • this is so retarded..

  • moby dick is bullshit

sperm whales are gentle and beautiful

  • Not precisely. Moby Dick attacking with VENGENCE and a conscious DESIRE to destroy humans, is false. Sperm whales, just like any other animal are not gentle and beautiful all the time. Given the right situation, where they feel threatened or otherwise, they CAN be aggressive and dangerous - just like the family dog.

Of course, what constitutes 'gentle' play for a Sperm Whale would be a brutal bashing for us. :P

  • have you seen the sperm whale kill a fisherman vid?

  • what a weird animal. i think i would be too scared to jum in with them. cool video.

  • most dangerous animal on earth.

The biggest carnivorous animal on the planet. Give it a drug and watch it kill every boat out there...

  • guy's a freaking idiot

  • This guy's annoying. Yet I am watching him.

  • "Size of a school bus" - Then thats a big fckin bus, because a sperm whale can weight up to 40 t o n s.

  • well said.

  • Which is why Navy sonar, shipping channels and oil exploration are devastating to whales. It screws up their echolocation, and the Supreme Court's recent decision allowing indiscriminate use of sonar will be a terrible thing for whales to be able to survive.

  • they could stun his ass with a high powered burst of their sonar., and they do know what and size of whatever the y are beaming at. and the babies are preyed upon when mother takes long dives unless they pod up and guard and take turns.

  • The video is really interesting but the narrator is *REALLY* irritating. Talk about overacing his part.

  • That was interesting.

    :)

  • this guy talks like he's addressing a bunch of two year olds.

  • Oops. I meant to give you a thumbs down and i clicked on thumbs up.

  • Just last year their was awesome footage of a sperm whale and her calf killing a massive great white shark....but I cant find it anymore...what the heck??

  • great work

  • my son love fishes so i rate it awesome.... love this

  • Fishes is incorrect grammer. It is used correctly as Fish

  • you lost me

  • Nope. you're wrong. Fish can be singular and plural. A school of fish.

  • and it is not a fish at all.

  • He needs to go back to grammar school with his so. The whale is not a fish also.

  • one day this species will evolve to a place such a lively guy is smiled at and not hated

  • he obviously has not read moby dick

  • Nice

  • Gosh! That guy's intense... A bit over the top. Try prozac every 3 day instead of every day.

  • Females do not have teeth, guy.

  • bam bites his arm off :D ncie video immagine blowing it up?

  • well obviously he didn't swim with them at all... lol

  • Am i the only person that wants to kick the shit out of that guy.

  • I know how you feel lol, add some punches too

  • LOL at 7:05 that big fella is definately scanning him up and down.

  • Wow they can really focus their clicks, at 5:47 he's in the water checking the pod and and as soom as the big femalee turns towards him (at about 5:50) u can hear the fast clicks and as soon as she turns away from him (at 5:56) the clicks fade away.

  • Sperm whales do have the largest brains in the world. Their neocortex is more than twice the size of a human's. They're probably much more intelligent than we are.

  • of course they are, thats why they invented computers before we did.

    You moron

  • Yeah, if they're so smart, they should've been able to master fire, electricity, and electronics. They wouldn't let a little think like living underwater and not having any hands (or maybe even language) get in the way of that.

  • LOL how smart are you thinking an marine animal would master fire..... youre kidding right? you know its impossible to start a fire underwater, right???

  • Of course I wasn't serious, hey. I was being sarcastic to another poster.

  • They are smart enough to lead rather peaceful life in perfect harmony with nature.

    Not like us.

  • @fayansiarz Except when they kill and eat other animals.

  • Maybe they don't need to invent computers in their environment...and maybe their environment is enough for their living...for it is never enough..

  • True. I am sure they are...we aren't too smart are we? all we do is pollute the world...

  • Clearly not considering we control the world, and whales don't.

  • I was being sarcastic, btw. Try building anything underwater using flippers instead of hands. Sheesh.

  • And why would whale even want to build anything anyway? This conversation is way too silly to continue.

  • Considering they can comunicate over big distances, I bet they already knew that some crazy guy is jumping into the water to try to take a look at them. So they came over to check it out.

  • Huh?

  • Because we have the money and the means to no longer bother with the monotony of real life. We can blow our money on shit like this. Hope that answers your question.

  • we need to show people about the existence of these animals, or some stupid countryes will still hunting them

  • i'd be freaked 00:11!

  • whoa look at 6:05 at that 16-meter whale

  • I once saw this documentary on sharks where the scientists were on board a whaling ship because of all the blood in the water attracting sharks. They showed a Sperm whale being shot and one of the scientists remarked. "It's so sad, we know so little about them and here we are driving them to extinction." Times have changed for the better though but having somebody saying that on board of the very ship that shot that whale makes me really angry.

  • nooooo the blue whale is the biggest whale in the world, different species. The guy is really anoyying but hes got balls, if those two Whales had swam towards me I think i woulda panicked
