  • I first found Mean Gene Kelton & The Die Hards about 12 years ago, when I downloaded this song by mistake. I was hooked from the very first line.

I ordered the album from the web site, which was sent to me in the UK. The customs declaration was signed by the man him self.

R.I.P. Your gift of music to this world will live on forever more.

  • "If you believe in forever

Then life is just a one-night stand

If there's a rock and roll heaven

Well you know they've got a hell of a band"

  • Cool! That brought back lots of memories of my teenage years in Baytown. Enjoyed it: Thanks for posting this video.

  • Go Mean Gene and Baytown, Texas!

  • I definitely did not get to see Texas Avenue like he did, but I have always wondered about it since I was young. My family had a furniture on Texas Avenue and I was over there a lot and heard stories of what it used to be like and always wished I could of have seen it in its hay day.

  • @ceaton84 I saw it in the last of it's hey day. Around 1980. I was only about 12 at the time. Sad to see the winding stripes gone.
