What a great piece of video work.. If you aren't doing vidography for a living you definitely should be!!! Just beautiful moves from Liverpool to the ship and the fireworks. Your eye captured such great angles of the ship. thanks for sharing it with us!!

I watched the QM2 sail in but was in bed when she sailed out but heard the fireworks. I watched her sail out past the house and it was like a scene out of Close Encounters!

We were on the QM2 that night, Liverpool you were amazing! It was a dream come true spending the week around the british isles for her 5th anniversary. The fireworks were spectacular

Much to my regret, I didn't get my hands on HD until after the QE2 was retired. Now THAT was a ship!

That's going to be fantastic, I've never been a fan of crusing but I would love to go on the QM2 after seeing her. Perhaps you can get some good video footage on board.

It Was A Great  Day. your video has some great frames on it. the reflection of the mersey with the ships lights , it really is a great shot. especially as it was virtually pitch dark. i hope you take a look at my little vids , and of course enjoy them. cheers mally

Hi Vipertail, A Truly Magical Video, i was at the cruise terminal next to the ship ( on the opposite side of the ship to your filmimg). i had a g1 android phone and really the shots i got with this were pretty good (for a phone) . yours i rate at 9 out of ten . thanks for posting this beautiful vid.

Many thanks Bob, it was the first time I've used the 'night' setting on the camera and I was amazed that it wasn't more grainy. I may have to venture out into the dark a little more.

That's one special setting Austin, as the night image option normally lights up the scene, but the picture is slowed down so that any movement is blurred but the sound is in real time, I've never seen anything like yours before....absolutely brilliant...Bob
