  • Classic ......I remember when King I was hosting talent shows in Paterson at Zenas.....Thats where he got it all started

  • in the book "check the technique" Ice T admits that he used this beat for 'Colors'. they added a baseline and that was that.

  • @nadastarr word

  • M P A R E!!!

  • KING SUN IS MY NIGGA. WE GO WAY BACK , PATERSON NJ. HOLLA AT YO BOY QUEST 4 LIFE , UNION AVE MY NIGGA

  • This is the BEST HIp Hop EVER song written...in history of its time!

  • Been looking for this one for almost two decades. Too bad K.Sun never admits he's from Paterson, N.J.

  • ♥Thiis iis ma style♥

  • Used to hear this track on Saturday night's on WYSO, Antioch College radio.

  • Zakia Records!

Rare - got cutmaster dc on this label

  • Hah this is pretty funny--King Sun with his '80s flow. He's pretty good at it though. I still like his harder '90s flow.

  • @cybersalad THIS IS WHERE ICE-T GOT COLORS FROM....

  • @taylor4660 I don't agree 'cuz Ice T made a song called "Killers" about 4 years before He made "Colors" and instead of it going "Colors, colors, co co colors." It goes Killers real fast then Killers fast, then Killers a lil' slower and slower....he got it from his own song. I'm sure you can find it on youtube..........

  • @ChrisinEC he used King Sun's flow for colors....the first line is the key as "Iam a nightmare..." the music is different.....Ice was rappin fast back then....when he did Colors he slowed down the delivery...

  • sun owns that scrathing sound

  • OhhhhhShiiiiit! I loved this shit when I was a kid. He dissed Rakim, Ra's response was on My Melody.

  • @jruperro where did you get ur info dun? This dude would not diss the fiend.

  • @teeosupreme To those that listened 80's shit in the 80's it was an accepted notion that Sun was dissin Ra and vice versa not info just a hunch. If you know about rhyming from the perspective of an emcee its easy to sound like your dissing when your not but usually you remove questionable lines unless they're there on purpose

  • @jruperro I came up on spoonie and the treacherous and have been in the illest of emcee circles since 81 and have never heard this. I know the lyrics inside out to both of these cuts and cannot find the disses. I know for a fact if you were talking about a kane and ra diss i could support that. I find it hard to believe that Ra wouldn't have name dropped if he was dissinthis cat.

  • @teeosupreme I too listened to Spoonie and the Treacherous 3 and Cold Crush and T la Rock and Busy Bee I watched Style Wars and Wildstyle when it came out. Im not from ny but this is how me and people I knew took it and accepted it as fact I cant say that its actual fact cant say that its false. Oh and Ra dissed Kool Moe Dee, Biz Markie, EPMD, Special Ed, Kool G Rap, and Hammer without namedropping

  • @jruperro ur entitled to ur opinion fam. Ra and g rap were mad tight so there was no diss there. as for Moe Dee, a battle tested cat he would've certainly answered ra like he did L. As for Special Ed and biz mark, They were no threat to even warrant an attack from ra. EPMD I'll give you that one because of the LI connection.

  • @teeosupreme First off on the song Poison by G rap and Polo when he said "They gon bite this just like they bit its a demo" He was referring to I know you got soul having the same sample as Its a Demo. On Musical Massacre Ra says "If this a demonstration it cant be the same show maybe your too fly somewhere over the rainbow" G Rap had a song back then called Im Fly. Then Ra says "The potion ( as in Poison) was weak make make another antidote".

  • @jruperro If I remember correctly, dj polo also said you fat sap Sucker. ra's not fat, nor was eric. Heavy d perhaps

  • @teeosupreme Tell me what song by Heavy D that sampled "I know you got soul" like "Its a Demo" and it aint like Eric B was skinny and Eric B said he took credit for beats people produced and vice versa "thats the game". and then explain why Ra said "If this a demonstration it cant be the same show/maybe youre too fly somewhere over the rainbow....the potion was weak make another antidote..."

  • @jruperro i KNOW YOU GOT SOUL BY BOBBY BYRD.....THIS IS THE FLOW THAT ICE CUBE BORROWED FOR COLORS....LISTEN TO THE 1ST VERSE OF COLORS... AND THEN THE FIRST VESRE OF ICES

  • @teeosupreme The Wanted Dead or Alive album was supposed to be produced by Eric B. but Large Professor did it while Eric and Ra was on tour. Eric B took credit for beats produced by Large Professor which is why in the song Snake Eyes he says "False producers tellin lies". But on the posse cut Money in the Bank theres a sample from Road to the Riches "The road gets rough". On Untouchable Ra says "A host of emcees try to make the road rough but Im coastin".

  • @teeosupreme On the wax version of How you Like Me Now, Kool Moe Dee had a report card for all the rappers out at that time and graded Rakim a C and said Ra's vocabulary couldnt match his. On Musical Massacre Ra spits "Minor old timer weak rhymer stand liner you wont be inclined to go so yo maybe later youre gonna be, but for now youre almost one of me". He also says "What you oughta do is pick up a tempo" referring to Moe Dee's stiff delivery.

  • @jruperro kmd has since chgd his mind in his book....Ra is#3 of all rappers.

  • @taylor4660 u r right with all your posts...especially the grap stuff....

  • @jruperro ll used this style in original rock the bells

  • @taylor4660 Didn't Rock the Bells come out well before 1987????

  • @teeosupreme Incidently he dissed LL on NO Omega "You need more power better bring battlecat cuz this aint grayskull and you aint rippin jack". In reference to Cool Js Walkin with a Panther album cover and the song Jack the Ripper. Marley Marl tried to get Ra to write for LL but he wouldnt so they got Kane and G rap instead, I heard that from Mix Master Ice. Also on My Melody when he goes "My wisdom is swift no matter if my momentum is slow emcees still stand stiff". He was talkin about MC Shan.

  • @teeosupreme And as for Biz, Biz used to beatbox for Ra back when he was Whiz Kid and had a song called Nobody Beats the Whiz, taken from the Whiz record store commercial. Later ofcourse Biz comes out with Nobody Beats the Biz, and Rakim famously kicks on I Aint No Joke "Nobody beats the R so stop yellin". On Untouchable Ra spits "As we go deeper its hard to find dont even think about it cuz you cant read my mind". Because of Special Ed sampling his voice for his song Think About It.

  • @jruperro Respectfully I have to disagree. Most of what you are saying is pure conjecture, speculation, and coincidence. You do make a decent debate. Peace out fam.

  • @teeosupreme The part about special ed mc shan and the song nobody beats the whiz came from a Rakim interview in rap pages. The part about LL came direct from the mouth of Mix master ice utfo's dj. The part about Eric B. and Large Pro came from rap pages and source interviews and moe dee did do a rap report card on the back of "how you like me now ". So you can plead no contest but where is the speculation coincidence and pure conjecture

  • @jruperro There is no need for me to plead"no contest" Just because you say it was in some now defunct magazines, does not and i repeat does not mean that it's fact. like I said, It's purely speculation. we can go back and forth and that's fine.

  • @teeosupreme The source aint defunct, and no being printed doesnt make it fact, but since it was printed and not disputed it is presumably true. It also makes sense, for example in no omega Ra says "mc grand poobutt". I never heard of no beef between them so why go outta the way if not to diss. Look at Rakims admitted disses they werent outright cuz he was clever. Ra said himself on here he japped instantly if he thought you was comin at him, Eric got a show we should see if he can verify things

  • a yo fam, check out my cover of jay z's kingdom come. youtube teeosupreme covers jay z's kingdom come. i was rhyming when king sun was getting down. just want peeps to know that cats like this is still doing it!!

  • djjeah!

  • Banger!!

  • Damn!

  • its cool to here these lyrics sampled all throughout hiphop and then go back and here where they all came from

  • I come from the hard core hip hoppers era when it was considered bitch for an hip hopper to be an R & B fan this was one of many songs to help lock down that status HARDCORE HIP HOP 4 LIFE !!!!!!

  • this song is the business D!!!!!

  • Kick ass jam!!

Sun came really hard on this one and made clear, he ain't nothin' to fuck with!

I'm glad, finally someone has uploadin' it.
