I love Sheila! She is easily one of the most talented artists, ever! She was a one woman band! Moreover, I loved her style and fashion! 80's need to make a comeback...lol
It's funny that Rihanna and Keri Hilson's hairstyles are so popular now, considering the fact that many women from the 80s and 90s (Sheila E., Whitney Houston and Toni Braxton) were rocking the same cute, short cuts back then. @mjj69able Yeah I totally agree. There were these idiots saying that Janet Jackson ripped off Beyonce's "Single Ladies" because Janet did her "Make Me" video in black in white. WTF!! Me and these other people went off. It's ridiculous that a lot of people don't realize that this has ALL been done before. Take Lady Gaga for instance. As much as I like her, she's really not original, but people think she is. They're always saying, such and such copied Lady Gaga. This kind of stuff kills me. lol
Music these days cannot be compared to that made in the 80's or earlier! Things have changed considerably and not for the best in this field. The Minneapolis scene, moulded around Prince was one of the best of that period! Sheila E.......Quality!

@FjordFairlane Maybe so, but that hair isn't really doing it for me. Give her a modern hair style and she's be hot. In the 80s, male and female entertainers wore almost the same outfits and hair. Yikes.
@MGTMuhammad All the artist from this have done well. Run DMC have continued to do well. Sheila E is being inducted into the West Coast Hall of Fame and received an honoray doctorate in music, The Fat Boys only one left alive is producting and dated Halle Berry, all have done well.

Good music can com from any era. But it has to come from persons who study music and play instruments. Using computer software is no substitute for the hard labor of learning to write music. Many teens in the music business are not adept in writing music and don't produce anything of quality. Sheila E is an example of someone who worked and payed her dues in music. Any performer would like to have a "sit in" with her.

Rhianna is doing her best to clone Sheila's look...Rhianna's pretty, but not as pretty as Sheila was.

Rhianna is not doing Sheila E! She is the new Pat Benatar or Tina Turner.

@FjordFairlane Maybe so, but that hair isn't really doing it for me. Give her a modern hair style and she's be hot. In the 80s, male and female entertainers wore almost the same outfits and hair. Yikes.
