I have question if someone would be kind enough to answer, I'm part of a group that believes it's not fair to wield a spear with one head, the same with long swords.

I don't see how that isn't really fair because it seems like it's punishing the bigger weapons. Yet they claim it's a standard. Is it or are they just B.S. rules?

@SilentRaeth1 It depends on the LARP you are playing, in Amtgard there are no rules like that, but in other games like Belegarth or Dagohir I can understand why they would think that since they use a minimum force requirement on hits.

@Lankywf Yeah I realized it, I didn't have problem with the rules I was just wondering why was all. It was a club at the college I attend so I understand having those rules. I know it sounded like I thought they were completely stupid but I understand why they have them. I just personally prefer practical application. Just my taste I guess.

It depends on the type of game you're setting up. I don't play with spell casters, and we play with headgear and stuff. We generally allow strikes to the head (we've got fencing masks).

I grew up larping, but you guys look a little more rough a tumble. I've love to get in there and mix it up. Where are you located? I also assume you are doing 'limb loss" systems instead of hit points? Kid of like SCA style it looks like, without the heavy armor and rattan swords.
