  • What if I don't have an HD set? Can I get even more channels with analouge?

  • @DoBe0001 If you don't have an HD set you can still get analog channels from Canada. Typically all of the Toronto and Hamilton channels that are digital also broadcast in analog as well in addtion to TVO which is only analog and is on channel 19. If you purchase an analog to digital tuner (ATSC tuner box) it will convert all of the digital channels from Buffalo,Toronto and Hamilton to be viewed on your older tv.

  • @DoBe0001 Sorry to take so long to reply. Analogue has actually gone the way of the Dodo for all of the major networks in Toronto, Hamilton and Buffalo as of September 1st. So if you have an older TV set you need to purchase a digital converter box to allow you to watch the digital channels on your analogue television.

  • Hi does the refresh rate of the tv affect the quality of pix for OTA HD signals?

  • @WMsReligion Refresh rate does not affect picture quality although some feel that a 120hz refresh rate is better for fast action sports like hockey.

  • I live in a condo in Mississauga, I purchased and indoor/outdoor hd antenna which i attached to a divider screen. I get the following channels: 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 4.1, 5.1, 7.1, 9.1, 11.1, 17.1, 17.2, 17.3, 23.1, 25.1, 26.1, 26.2, 26.3, 29.1, 29.2, 36.1, 41.1, 44.1, 49.1, 49.2, 57.1, 64.1, 66.1. I will get ION 51.1, 51.2, 51.3 only late in the evening. I have not tried to get ThisTV 67.1. I face southwest, and am on the second floor and am located west of Mavis Rd on Dundas St.

  • Depends upon where we have to install the antenna, how many TV's you have, what parts we need etc.. You can call our shop and get a basic quote 905-655-3661

  • how much do u charge for the installation in GTA

  • I've been working with indoor antennas in Oshawa and finding that CBC is about the only Canadian station I can get in. And even that is limited to good weather.

  • I installed a customer in Whitby recently and he was getting 40 channels. He was actually picking up Erie, Pennsylvania. His house sat high on a hill and he could see both the lake and Toronto. It pays to have the right antenna installed and have it done properly. It also helps if you are in a good location.

  • Yes intodeep 29.2 is a new country music channel that pretty well everyone gets in this area. 49.2 is CoolTV which is a great music video channel that is like what MTV and Much Music used to be like when they were music video channels rather than reality TV channels. It plays all kinds of music videos from the 80's to present and even throws in some oldies and some really cool live performances. 67.1 is hit and miss on a directional antenna that is aimed to get Buffalo, Hamilton and Toronto

  • Great video - I'm tempted to move to the Golden Horseshoe just for the multitude of free OTA HD.

  • Thanks for showing what you can receive. I noticed that some changes have happened after you shot this video. Have you received TheCoolTV (49-2), CMT (29-2) or ThisTV (67-1) since?

  • I wish I lived in your area so I could get more HD channels but living in Montreal, with my cheapo coat hanger antenna, I get CBC (FR and ENG), CBS, NBC, FOX, PBS, TELE-QC and V. Next August 2011, I'll finally get TVA, Global and CTV in HD.

I wish I could exchange PBS for ABC and have CW show their content in HD but hey, with 8 major HD channels, don't push your luck, right?
