I guess you already know that staying more than 6 + hours infront of a monitor produces eye strain in less than 6 months, after that you have 90% probability to use glasses, and if you continue that for 5 years.. you have 75% probability to obtain glaucoma (the second most common type of blindness in the US according to statistics). You can google it if don't believe my words. I use to study animation, now I try to check mail, edit my recipes (I'm a Chef), watch news and bye computer.
not this one but Elgato make one that does work on vista (xp doesnt work), check their site i think its one the home page...eyetv SAT or something like that
i have a question. i live in a dorm and my dorm has a tv with cable, but do i have to PAY for a subscription to watch on my lapton with this, or can i 'piggyback' the signal to the dorm???? please help!
Bit of a question for you. I've read that you can use the EyeTV Hybrid to play video games through your Mac, which is cool, but I'm wondering if you can also record/take screen caps. That would make it an absolute must have for me.
thats sweet because i plan on getting one for college in a year and have a macbook with a external monitor and have the tv on the macbook screen and then work on the big display.
great video, how much cpu does it take up i mean it looks like you have a killer mac pro but can you watch tv and still use other apps at the same time with no apparent speed loss, I want to get one for my 2.4 c2d imac
Hey Starwarsdude, just curious, when did you get that EyeTV Hybrid? That's the older model. I bought the new model at Macworld for $99.00. The new one accepts the Qam channels so you can get HD from your cable company without a set top box. The new model comes with the EyeTV 3.0 software with Leopard features.
Try Harvey Norman, im from New Zealand, but I saw online you guys have Harvey Norman electrical store. In NZ it sells it at the one I go to, give that a try.

It looks like he has one Mac and one Vista machine... Three displays but two for the Vista one.
He could also be using Parallels/VMWare Fusion to run them both on the Mac.
So most likely 2 computers...
