Death is natural, and so is killing(food sure as hell doesn't grow prepackaged from trees). It isn't hard to understand why the general population would find various degrees of it amusing.
Bringing up porn is relevant, as it is basically the same thing. Not exactly sure why you brought up celebrities, but I can only assume they are natural as well.

@Lazypackmule Hmm.. Of course death is natural, I'm not so sure though if killing another human is something that can be considered natural. I think it is really the most unnatural thing. I can understand the interest in death, it's a mystery after all, but I can't understand that someone would find something amusing about it. I don't think you'd laugh at someones death bed. I saw this video of a man being shot to death, and if something that made me physically ill.

Okay, maybe celebrities don't really belong in the same category with these two, but they're really just something I can't stand. I'm not shocked to find porn or killing from Youtube or the internet, only at the reactions some people have. I don't know what it is. Has Hollywood made us immune to violence? Or killing? If so that's truly disturbing.

If anything, society as a whole has been "sensitized" to this type of stuff for years.
The Romans had the colloseum, the Aztecs had that soccer-type thing they played with decapitated heads, virtually every Medieval/Renaissance period society had public executions. They did it because it was fun and people liked to watch. Saying it isn't human nature at this point is inexcusable.

That's my personal moral judgement. I can't do anything about the fact that you don't share this view. Let me just say that it's unreasonable to try to justify anything based on what's happened before, I could justify keeping a slave, or holocaust or whatever. I don't buy that human nature crap anyway.

It's pointless to describe the differences between a robot and a human. That being said, we're not robots. Our behaviour isn't shaped entirely on our biology(unlike animals). We have consciousness, we don't only act on stimulus-reaction basis. And what do you even mean by natural?

Since you're so fond of biology.. Our brains are wired so that when we e.g observe someone getting hurt, we've the capability to experience it ourselves. (mirror neurons). Yeah sure biology is a (small) part of us, but a much bigger one's psychology and social setting in which we live.

Biology is all we are, as there are no parts of us that are not biological. Our conscious and subconscious minds, and the psychology that results, is entirely biological. Basic human instincts are more psychologically rooted, anyway.
And my point with the robot thing was that slave owners believed that their slaves were not people.

@SpartanSlayered If you pause it at 0:24, you'll see that the blade cuts through Morrow's left shoulder, (in a downward motion) severing his head and right arm from his body. You can also see that the child was simply decapitated. A teacher at a film school I attended said that is what happened to them. He was on-set when it happened. He also told me that the crew but the body parts in garbage bags until they could figure out what to do.The kid's shouldn't have been there. Landis is an asshole
