Andy has such a knack for playing these riffs that remind me why I love rock and roll. Every time I watch one of his videos, I have to go headbang to like four different songs afterwards
this amp has no clean headroom or shimmering cleans. for cleans this amp is a total zero. at 2:12 you need to put the amp on standby and let the sound come to a stop before you switch to a different wattage or else you could fry the amp.
You know, it may seem trivial to a lot of viewers, but one of the things I personally like about your demo videos is that you generally try to play a small handful of different styles. So many demo videos on youtube make it hard to imagine the possible applications of an amplifier, because they're all made by guys who just want to play a bunch of repetitive, wanky blues riffs. Great video. Thanks!
so it seams to me that there really arnt any tube amps that can get darker less middle distortion.IM not liking the fuzzz off tube but love the clean. ITs a hard thing to find the right amp.
I'm playing in a death metal band and use this amp because of it's felxibility in tone. even if it's retro I think you can use this amp in every situation! remember that speakers (I use celestion vintage 30, they sound very aggressive), your guitar and your style define you sound!
@poombi hey dude, is this amp loud enough to gig with? and do you need pedals to make it sound heavy? i play metal also and i'm interested in this amp.
@heygermandude - The Royer goes into a Universal Audio tube pre, then into our RME Fireface. We did a Scoop video awhile back that details our recording process. We would recommend checking that out. Thanks for watching!
hi andy would you mind if im going to asked ur personal choice between orange TH30 & dual terror in terms of overall gain, tightness of sound, of this both amp..?thnks..
Can i ask how up front is the midrange tone in real life....on most apms I try I dont like the sound when the mid range is up so much...but the orange sounds different even though it has high mids....are the mids controllable at all with the tone knob or any other way...thanks
@imgonnastayeighteen nobody answered my question, so i'm gonna answer this myself, if anyone is interested.I bought this head three days ago and i have to say it sounds great even without Fx loop. Maybe it's because the volume of my Fx Loop was always high on my older amp and i didn't notice the difference, i don't know. But it's a great head, if you have money buy it.
@imgonnastayeighteen delays sound like crap in front of an amp man, they gotta be after disortion. That happend to me I coodnt find an amp I really wanted with a loop, so i just gota plexi clone kit and mic it thru a pa with a boost pedal...so basicly i have it u just hear the regular amp then hit the boost pedal and the pa gets up to the same or a little louder volume then the amp and I can use delay just fine.. just mic ->boost->chorus->delay->pa ...just thought i'd share an ok way to do it
It won't be the best effect friendly amp out there, it's not super high headroom, and a lot of your effects will become useless when you wanna use the amps overdrive, because most pedals should be placed before the overdrive:) especially delay and reverb, as the echo will distort too and sound very shrill
you know what im going to do? I'm gonna buy this thing. and a cab. And someday down the line, I'm going to invest in getting it custom made with wood and orange tolex, so it'll look like an AD30 or something like that.
So, is it completely switchable from 30-15-7 watts, or do you just have to turn the volume down halfway on the 15 watt Tiny Terror channel? I would like it to be switchable down to 7 watts so I can crank up the volume and get the tubes really hot and overdriven to record without blowing the roof off the place. Is this possible? Thanks Killer video, by the way. I think i have seen almost all of PGS demos, you guys are great. Keep it up!
@Thatfenderguy My brother owns the original Tiny Terror and we play a fair bit of Rise Against stuff. While I know that they're not hardcore, the amp can definitely get a huge and powerful sound. Hell, I've used it to play punk with a tele!
