this trailer is pretty bad... but the movie was good to me, great music and astonishing animation... if you have the chance of watching one of those videos of the origianl stage play; if you will; is obviously better or at least have more merit because of the technical dificulties to express that in a live concert. but, in the end, is good movie, its kind off what watter could imagine originally in his head, but with the advantages of cinema..
It is one of my favorite albums. I just saw The Wall with Waters in Stockholm a couple of days ago. This movie is great, sure a little freaky and disgusting at its times but still really really good. It's deep. Though not for all, I agree with.. uhm.. zeroxfcg that is. My stupid father (love him ofc) showed it to me when i was like 6 (not advisable!) and it kinda traumatized me and my sister.. Have totally forgiven him now but don't think mom ever will lol
You really need to understand the song text in the move, else it makes no sense. So if you watch it, you have to watch it loud. Also I think that the film has got a real deep sense behind it. Some might not be able to see it, but I think if you are a bit clever, you will see the associations to the real life.
Great film, but I don't think it is for everyone.
some of my friends do something i cant stand compare my voie to sids when i sing their songs hes the true master im just a cheap imitation...and also i was born too late to be raised up around such meaningful music (born 1990) but i discovered it for myself when i was 11 (in 2001) and was thinking where has all of the meaningful music gone?!?! i still wonder that i shall always be a fan of old school metal and rock the music with meaning the new stuff can kiss my a**!!!!
yeah the guys who made the trailer knew that adding that sample of the words "the wall" echoing at the end would make ppl run out and watch this. that was like crappy artistic license from hollywood marketing idiots who were cramping in on floyds stuff. how dare they.
If they made this movie now, it would be looked down one. Today's movies all about teenage trends like romance and singing, and more mature movies are all the same bullshit. If this movie out, it would get 9% rate the box office becuase it isn't apart of current statis quote. But it would get 1 billion at the box office because people how would understand this movie and it'sidea.
This is a seriously, seriously under-rated movie....and I also don't like how many people claim this is a "stoner"/drug movie....the film actually tells a very real story of isolation, mental deterioration and how bad life experiences can cut you off from humanity.
I watched this movie in a cinema (LOUD!!) and was blown away.
@danomanno747 Yea that pisses me off too. I think people who say that are not PF fans obviously, and are just too lazy to turn on there philosophical thinking to learn from the movie. Pink floyd is a band where the fans actualy have to work, and think. Pink floyd dosnt just entertain you it gives a great deal of wisdom.
@uh0oo totally. Drug culture ruined PFs image. Just like it ruins everything. I mean, look at the music that DOES come from drug culture. its completely brain dead shit. This, however, is epic!
Beastly, one of the best movies ever, so poetic, artistic and different, i just bought the DVD, i had only seen the TV appropriate parts on VH1 classic, this movie is so incredibly disturbing yet I wanna watch it over and over,
Awesome movie, i saw this film when i was 13 about 7 years ago and i was into Pink Floyd when i was 12 thanks to my mom's boyfriends CDs. This movie became one of my favorite animated movies and my favorite musical.
They should play the wall in every high school on the planet! It's a piece of art that everybody needs to see at least once. Power and money are such interesting subjects.
This is a great album and movie. I have the 25th Anniversary Edition on DVD. I guess there will be a 30th ann version too. The behind the scenes footage is nice addition. Watch out for daily/weekly update bulletins on my channel page.
This movie honestly is very smart in its projection of Psychology and Politics. At first I though it was going to be like one of those BS films like Purple Rain (GREAT soundtrack...awful film lol). But this film was literally magnificent, especially since it's source comes from a freaking album! You don't find that much these days.
it would of been better if it was made the way pink floyd wanted it made in the 1st place, for 1 that twat geldof wouldnt of been in it, waters would of played his part, and there would of been concert footage in it when the songs came on, they should of done it there way, its still good, but should of made it they way it was ment to be
im kinda scared to watch this because I think ill be overwelmed by how powerful it is, and I dont know if I can handle that, but hell with it its pink floyd, so i have to watch it... :P
The University of Michigan is playing this at Michigan Theater tonight. Ironic, yes. But I'm not missing an opportunity to see this at a movie theater.
Never seen the movie, but you gotta love the music.
I recently found Pink Floyd, and so far im still getting into touch with all the diffrent albums, but this has been my favorite band for about a year now. There music is so deep, and natural.
It was not a psychological horror. It's a political horror. It's a comment on how the government is getting bigger and we need to return the values of the founders. Granted this takes place in England but it still can be said about the movie since England is an elected Parlimentary Gov't.
@Idolikenozoik there arent many references and maybe not clear to the goverment but take these into account... police repression , manifestations against crisis and nuclear missiles enstablishments , the crisis which made people steal from shops , the neo nazis representing hitler and all dictatorships in the world in all centuries , the school head its a great methaphor of tyrany and the kids began revolution . but the main point of movie isnt the goverment if not more general: the system.
It is about his psychological state and how he is emotionally building up a wall due to all the crap that has happened to him+ how he is breaking free from his mental anguish- I think psychological horror fits perfectly even though I think your definition of horror is different than ours. *horror as in scary movie might be closer to what you assume that meant* but its based on his mental anguish, not a scary movie type of definition.

its a pity that roger waters and alan parker critize badly the art they have done. they havent realize that it was one of their famour piece of work. anyways this movie means much for my country because it was seen during a dictatorship and the message that expressed about police repiression, wars, bad system, drug abuse, nazis, fascism, stupid strict education has a huge importance. this movie should be dedicated to all the "Pinks" of the world .
13 years old and I've been brought up on Pink Floyd by my dad :) Seen this soo many times now :D this has always been my favourtie pink floyd album since I was little along with the dark side of the moon. Most people fell asleep to nursery rhymes, I fell asleep to Pink Floyd & Genesis XD
My dad's a bass player and i like sayin i learned how to sing Tom Sawyer before i learned old mcdonald and how to mosh to metallica before the hokey pokey!
Is really a strange trailer... well, the movie itself is very strange and original. I saw it when I was a little child and it surely made me change my drawing style for a long time (fron dinsey like animals to more grotesque and surreal things and characters). I only remember some fragments of the animations, mostly from The Trial and Good Bye, Blue Sky, but I definitely have to see it again!
I love the movie ... but the trailer sucks

@kika1117 no it is we dont need no education
krippa123 2 years ago
yes, but the first is is there anybody out there" and later is "we don't need no education" I think he asked about first song.
kika1117 2 years ago
It is called "another brick in the wall - part II", not "we don't need no education". It's okay, a lot of people think that's what it is.
