Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne I thought was rather great, But as Batman I felt he lacked the essence of who the Batman is as a person. But the way Christopher Nolan portrait the Dark knight I thought was better than in any other movies of batman.

I think the big flaw in The Dark Knight is all the filler. Why so many pointless subplots? Why have Bruce Wayne go to Hong Kong for 20 FUCKING MINUTES! What was the point of Coleman Reese? Did they have to drag out the finale that much? Some of this shit needed to be trimmed down or just taken out all together. The movie was too fucking long.

it's called art in motion. It had character depth, suspense, fantastic dialogue, tremendous action scenes, etc. THE DARK KNIGHT is a smart person's movie. Somebody said even if the Dark Knight didn't have Batman in it, it would still have been a great crime thriller. And that is 100% true. Idiots like you probably think the garbage that is Iron Man 2 is better. You don't appreciate films unless they are typical wham bam films. @mealex6013 i know! and i think the overpraise and lack of criticism on heaths performance undermines what he was as an actor. too many people i know and meet who say they love Heath and wish he was "still here" and i ask them to name their top 5 movies with him they usually can only come up with about 3-4, and on one occasion i had to convince them he was in over 15 films and lead or was a major supporting character in at least 10 of them.

I saw it in theaters when it first came out, I REALLY REALLY think it sucked. The first one, batman was fighting, but I didn't know if he hit someone or thing because it was zoomed to close and the flashbacks were confusing. Now I know why batman was zoomed in on his fighting, he looks as though he's freaking dancing and stabbing a dog.
uhhh yeah batman is supposed to be the worlds smartest man, so the joker being smarter kind of contradicts that. the joker is just less predictable so its hard to figure out his plans untill its too late
yep Bale is a terrible actor. Also the film's ending was too long, the civilians should have blown up the criminals boat for a nice ironic twist, two-face was a badly developed and poorly acted character, the replacement for katie holmes was ugly, Heath Ledger's performance was EXCELLENT though and was the only good thing about the movie!

I won't even watch this movie now because everyone made a big deal out of it. I new Heath was awesome even before this movie. I don't need this movie to validate it for me. Actually in the orignal comics he never kills anyone, it's one of his rules. After seeing his parents murdered he learned that killing someone would bring him down to a murderer's level which he would not accept.
He first appeared in the Detective Comics series in which he did not show the hesitation with using fire arms. He would shoot people and whatnot. Later they decided to create a hero with the mentality of sparing even the criminals.
Sorry I 'm pretty young so I pretty much only know the DCU 50's (Golden Age) forward. I've read a few of the official guide which never mentioned him intentionally killing anyone and lead me to believe he never killed criminals.

yep Bale is a terrible actor. Also the film's ending was too long, the civilians should have blown up the criminals boat for a nice ironic twist, two-face was a badly developed and poorly acted character, the replacement for katie holmes was ugly, Heath Ledger's performance was EXCELLENT though and was the only good thing about the movie!

I agree keaton played a better batman then bale. But I like nolan vision of batman better then burtons. In burtons film batman goes around killing people like crazy for one thing which is stupid. The acting in nolans films is much better excluding bales performance as batman. Actors like michael cain, gary oldman, and heath ledger really play the parts good so I can overlook bales crappy batman voice.

I wouldn't be that interesting if Joker would be in the next movie (If Heath hasn't died) because Batman has so many villains.
And so what if The Joker was killed in Batman '89? None of the movies have had the same villain in two movies in a row, with the exception of Scarecrow.

it was a big mistake killing the joker in such a silly way. the relationship between batman and the joker in the 89 batman movie was not properly developed.

Yes, Scarecrow had a bigger role in the Begins, bit wasn't the main villain, which was pretty bad because R'has Al Goul was not interesting. And having him for 5 minutes in Dark Knight is a failure, would've been better not having him in the movie.
The relationship between Batman and Joker in Batman was very well done. Batman made Joker and Joker killed Batman's parents. Don't argue with the fact that this isn't the true story of those charaters because the Joker's make up in DK was one big fail

I just dont like batman being portrayed as such a wimp. Most of the movie was him hiding in the shadows too afraid to answer the bat signal.
The batman I grew up with showed up immediately and was ready to face the danger and be the superhero! This was a role Keaton played very well!

I won't even watch this movie now because everyone made a big deal out of it. I new Heath was awesome even before this movie. I don't need this movie to validate it for me. Besides, when people make a big deal out of a movie, I'm always dissapointed because I expected too much. And I like Michael Keaton too. And Tommy Lee Jones. And Robin!:) Batman Returns is the best.

I actually had high hopes for this film, and was let down. At least in the first Tim Burton film we got to see some character development. This had none. I think Heath Ledgers performance as the Joker was over rated.

Actually in the orignal comics he never kills anyone, it's one of his rules. After seeing his parents murdered he learned that killing someone would bring him down to a murderer's level which he would not accept.

He first appeared in the Detective Comics series in which he did not show the hesitation with using fire arms. He would shoot people and whatnot. Later they decided to create a hero with the mentality of sparing even the criminals.

Sorry I 'm pretty young so I pretty much only know the DCU 50's (Golden Age) forward. I've read a few of the official guide which never mentioned him intentionally killing anyone and lead me to believe he never killed criminals.
