  • i had one, 20$ not bad

    bad controls tho

might of been me tho, first one ive ever had

  • @IGotMadAtTheCheat

You may be more right, but then again I have already mastered flying these and I must say that I discovered that in order to fly them well you must fly in almost absolute calm conditions and have trimmed the birds...It is not friendly to beginners and your first flights will short ...If you stick with it, You can start getting some spectacular flights!... It all looks easy until I hand you the controls!

  • im crying right now cause my dragonfly wont work. the controler works perfectly but the dragonfly wont charge and the LED light will only turn on if the remote is on and the dragonfly is on whilst in the charger.

  • ibut i dont have the tail what do i do make one???

  • @gillpillandcan ...Time to be creative here!

The tail ribbon part should be easy unless you are talking about rebuilding the whole tail!

  • hacelo volar mi direcsion de gemail es federicosilvi tengo 10 años

  • a cat attacked mine lol. so i got pissed and attacked the cat with it lol

  • hi, i just got on of these and the thing is that it doesnt work the LED eyes wont light up and so i think it doesnt charge, ive already recharged for 20mins, and the bug was turned off and the remote on the remote does turn on thought. Any help

  • @neonchris007 If you followed all the normal charging procedures and it still doesnt light up then it is a factory dud!

I have purchased many myself and ocationally I get a dud bug! the fault may lay in the battery and since the toy was minted in 2007 the batteries should all be crapping out by now...even my best flyers will soon be dying out!

only way to keep flying is to open it up and place a new battery- experiece in electronics required!

use a battery from a recently crashed toy heli!

  • @neonchris007 REFUND

  • and if that child escapes from within, then run!:)

  • haha i just made a roll with my dragonfly and kept flying that was crazy :D.

Thx for the wings again ;).

    greetz

  • You are very welcome!.... you should try to aquire a back up aircraft while you are still ahead! I myself have already worn out my first dragon fly but still have a fleet ove over 6 bugs!

  • hmm my mom won't allow it XD but maybe i'll get an rc airplane for outside :D.

But i found out how i can do a roll with it and keep flying :D.

    Do you wanna know how?

    greetz

  • you should film any stunts and post them. as far as I know I really only like the adventure of flight endurance and basic flying thru obsticals.

  • i would love to film it but i don't have a camera XD exept for my webcam but then u can't see the dragonfly on the video :S.

    Its pretty wierd!

But i have put a metal bar over 2 chairs then when i fly i turn with the dragonfly and make the wing touch the bar so it rolls then fly further :D.

It takes alot of practice but it worked XD.

I'm now trying to do a loop!

I almost did it today :p pretty hard to do :S

    greetz

  • Find a friend who actually has a camera to film the stunt for you while you fly!

Oh... and try not to crash and burn!

  • well that is one of the problems i don't have a friend who has a descent camera XD

  • keep always your child within

  • How much is it?

  • The Rc dragon Flys are now on clearance at Radio shack for about $15- $20 dollars!

As of August 2009 they could also be purchaced at Target, Kmart, and Walmart but you will have to find the stores that still stock them and the still run $25- $30 dollars. on line at E-bay it is over $50 with shipping! They may be out of production and will probablly become fazed out. Only die hard enthusiast will seek them out to keep a running fleet of exotic flying toys.

  • i lost the tail ribbon will paper work?

  • A small strip of paper could be used and attached with some thread, If you want to pull a long ribbon it must be very light.

  • what kind of paper? art paper? japanese paper?

  • I think you must experiment with different papers, Japanese paper or maybe rapping paper used to cover and protect glass... maybe even shiny chrome mylar!

  • your playing with a childs toy..

  • Have you flown one of these? it is not always easy and some of my toys are very expensive or too delicate for a child!

  • HELP!!!

can someone give me a link where i can buy replacement wings please?

  • You could buy the replacement wings at Radioshack and maybe some of the last bugs as they are on clearance... search all your local radioshacks and take advantage of the fact that the bugs are selling fo about $16 dollars!

I purchaced over 20 and may post some for sale on E-bay....but will only do it if just to help....I am trying to maintain my squadron fleet. do not throw it away as wings are easy to get if you do not have the wings, I might send you some but bug me later as last resort!

  • well i can't buy it from Radioshack because i live in Belgium and i don't think that they sell wings over here :( i broke my second set of wings a min ago :S

houmutch would u sell the wings for + shipping to belgium?

    i would buy 5 or 10 :) if i can't find anything closer.

    greetz

  • I have never shipped anything overseas but I could give it a try. The wings should be easy to send by Mail, I will look it up. But I could get a lot of wings here but I have no use for them as of now. the wings cost about $4 dollars here. please check to see if you can find them locally.

  • Looks like the Product is beginning to disappear from Radio shack and other stores!

I went over to several radio shacks and cleaned them out here in Miami.

they were selling for about $15 dollars! I know that the internal batteries on things have a life of about 2 years since its 2007 launch but they seem to still fly strong!

If they discontinue production of future bugs then I will keep my fleet going by adding in new batteries that could be taken from a matching "other toy" .

  • the freaken bird . a eagle dive down right at it , it missed the body it got the tail , that happen to me , i live in alaska

  • These things are still available at Radio shack and even on the internet and they have gotten a lot cheaper! If you should get attacked again by a bird maybe it is worth getting that on film!

  • Good work on video lesson postings...I am more focused on modding and adjusting the aircraft as well as a study on how things work so we can all make it fly better!

  • had one , a bird swap the tail off

  • What bird?

I was flying a day ago in Miami Florida and was messing around with the native parrots and some pigeons, The pigeons, chased it sometimes!

  • when i first got this... this was so hard to control

I find expert mode easier than beginer mode

  • I really do not know why the buit a trim and beginner - Expert mode.... ?

If you change the trim out of neutral , you will eventually crash, and beginner mode produces crappy responses during flight when power is demanded in critical moments....Always set to expert mode and trim at neutral- and use the tairl ribbon!

  • how, thanks for the tips... ill remember that....

i actually find that having the ribbon off, outdoors and the ribbon on indoors is easier. also, if you tie a hair band onto its neck, is easier to fly.. i just put some hairties around the neck instead of clay

    HELPFUL VIDEO THOUGH!!!

  • I am glad you were able to achieve balance in your aircraft, I discovered a need to balance one of my first bugs by clipping a piece of plastic I found on the floor to add wieght, not pretty but it flew!

  • so do I.

    Beginner is harder to tern.

  • bobo

    bobo

  • same here weird!!

  • keep always your child within

  • did u know the legs are the attennas??? if u twist a long wire on the legs n tape it down the middle of the body u get alot more range. i took the guts of my dragon fly n turned it into an rc plane?? u wana see the vid??

  • I suspected them to be the anttenas- you might be right, I will sodder a wire onto it and see what happens, Thanks!

  • wait so the ribbon thing helps it fly????

  • yes- the ribbon helps it fly- see video.

It produces downward thrust by keeping the nose up and it helps slow it down without losing thrust.

    I always use them!

  • oh 1 more thing. i never got a tail ribbon so i used a paper clip to make it fly better. it works great now except 4 the mixed up wings

  • good work on the improvized wings, radio shack is still selling the wings online so get a few extra.

  • i tore up both of the wings so i had to mix- match the only non broken ones :(

  • these fucking suck i swear

  • not everyone is able to fly these things and some have been factory lemons, Other people are able to fly these and some quite high, you will have to keep practicing , they won't fly well at all on a windy day.

  • i love my dragonfly, but i tore up both of the wings, now i have to go buy some at radio shack

  • it sucks i used to have it it can go left right and straight and when it goes striaght after 10 seconds it goes on the ground and you cant make it go up

  • can you make a video on how to istall the wings please i want to use them

  • To replace a wing: Gently pull the wing rods straight out of the plastic sockets and then un hook the back of the wing, notice a plastic hook near the back holding it on.

do the same for the other wing but if it is undamaged you can leave it on and fly different colored wings!

    Adding wings on:

1st hook the one wing side on the plastic hook and then push the rods into the sockets- make sure they are in tight! Repeat on other wing.

  • i think there crap XD

  • That would depend on many factors- I own 8 and 3 are actually factory duds! you might be right... many need to be tweeked as they are not perfect, but thats the fun part!

Once flying they are tempermental to any wind and cannot be flown in the slightest of winds.

The pilot must be able to balance the throttle for perfect flights.

I fly several at a time and charge in sequence for nonstop flight, people often come up to me asking if they could buy one.

Experience will make you fly better!

  • i got 1 for christmas last year it broke tho lol

  • go get another one now that they have become much cheaper!

They can be found at Radioshack,Kmart,Target, and Walmart and Online.

The average price is $40-$50 dollars Walmart has them on clearance for $25 bucks!

  • i just bought my second one and it costed only 19.99 at radioshack

  • Good work! I just noticed that they came down in price! $20 Dollars! I now have 11 Dragon flys and I must say Under calm flying conditions and with lots of people watching, You will need more than one on battery charge mode while flying.

The time to buy is NOW!

  • yea i was suprised to see price drop so low haha

  • I began flying a fleet of 4 bugs and recharged the ones I already just used...I attracted some attention as people kept bugging me about selling one so I bought some recentlly and made a killing! .... I'm getting some more!

  • Leonardo DaVinci would've loved to have these to play with!

  • I am still studying these machines- very interesting diversion from my usual ship building. after making this video I found out a fellow flyer had already done a battery upgrade and had also posted it on you tube...

I too must try this experiment!

I guess that makes me a made scientist!
