wow i used a scythe as a weapon of choice so many years ago *sigh* mine was smaller so blocking was easier but balance and focus is needed all the time. i was good but still i didn't like the mind set needed to really master it. it's the kind of weapon you can't let who your fighting get near at all so they must die or be injured, the blade it only good if they are on the very inside or very outside of it and the pole does not swing fast enough to injured on it's own like a staff would.

this is like the roku shaku kama, okinawan kama on a six foot pole, there are some interesting sweeps that can be done with this weapon, keep up the good work!

Very nice indeed, but if I were u I try to use a Guan dao, Naginata, or a Voulge ,

the way the scythe blade is angled inward means that the sweeping motion is rather ineffective.

it doesn't really look like it takes advantage of the design of a scythe. it looks more like a quarterstaff or glaive fighting style.

Your striking's ok, but blocking's not so good. Try looking at naginata, they keep it mostly on the centerline so nobody can move in. Like scythe, it's a heavy weapon, and you don't dare let someone close because then they have a serious speed advantage. Look up what're called the koryu bugei. Should give you some idea.

the scythe is a beautiful weapon and anyone who can wield it with skill has my utmost admiration very good its one of the most difficult weapons to master good job and amamzing speed with it it many not be the fastest ive seen but amazing none the less the scythe is heavy too which makes speed with it nearly impossible like i said you have my admiration

i guess buster blade is the chinese version i use zonbatos and great swords the martal art style i practice is clled Zui-Quan and yes it is cool

Indeed you are correct, but it is a weapon that is hardly used in martial arts today as you saw. Type in the search engine about martial arts with a scythe and the chances are, you'll mainly see this video stand out.:)
