Gah! To think I ever thought I was good at signing music. Damn. The young people today are blowing me away. Although it fills me with envy, it also excites and entertains me to see such a proliferation of talented music signers on YouTube. So… rock on!

You did such a great job. I taught a high school ASL class, and my students love this video. They think you are adorable, but they also love the energy you give off. It makes us all want to dance with you! Keep it up.
I think you did a great job. Signing music is a performance art. It is the only way to portray the mood of the music. I say keep it up. I have a two year old deaf neice, and I will be showing her your videos. Me and her mother are still learning to sign and are no where near ready to start this. But we will. Thanks for your interpretations.
I am moved that you're doing what parents should be doing. Keep it up and just keep on signing daily that's the only way to learn. Any questions, I'll be happy to answer.

@zephyreros I have to agree, Zephyreros is good... I mean great!!!! For anyone truly involved in the Deaf community and easily recognize that your are fluent in ASL. Great job on the performance. Wish I could do that. Awesome.... keep it up.
wow! i have studied asl off and on all my life and only got really serious about it in college. I want to say that my receptive skills are poor but i can honestly say that I actually understood about 85% of what you signed (even with the dancing)! Keep performing and don't let the haters get to you! :o)
I dont think people understand that there ist just one way to sign anything, when i sigh Fireflies. i use Lightflies, so it looks more fluid and goes with the song, but i saw someone else use the litereal term for fireflies, its all how you choose to sign it, this is a good performance...lol

Look, Cool Beans, if you want people to stop replying to you, you might want to stop using words like horrid & rubbish. You don't like the video? Fine, you are entitled to your opinion & don't watch it. But you said yourself you are in training; a student. If you obnoxiously cling to your own ignorance even when evidence presents itself that you are wrong, the you have NO business being in a people-centered profession such as interpreting.

Zephyreros, I am an interpreter in training for deaf people. I definitely know who signs clear, ASL, etc. You were moving so much, I couldn't understand one thing you signed. Don't put me down for making a comment. I have studied asl with 3 teachers and all say you don't sign clear. My teacher signed a fast song and I understood her.
"Cool Beans": I saw your YT video and I find it very hard to believe that you are an interpreter; your signing is amateur at best. If you don't like Zephyreros' videos then don't watch them, but just because you don't appreciate his talent doesn't mean he isn't very good at what he does. Very annoying and unclear. if you have to sign with music, don't dance. Very distracting. I am an asl interpreter and I always sign songs and don't dance as I sign because I know it is distracting and makes the asl unclear.
Which parts were unclear? If he was trying to interpret you might have a valid point but he wasn't... plus I thought everything he signed was clear anyway... and the energy fits the mood of the song. If you want to interpret this properly, standing still would not be appropriate, as that is not the mood that the artists are trying to convey.
Amazing job on this performance... I'm very impressed! Cheers from Gally.
@"Cool Beans": You should read up before commenting. He is a Deaf performer, these videos are for entertainment, not formal interpreting. They are amazingly fun and require a lot of skill! :)
In response to your other comment saying this video is horrid. I think your perception skills aren't good so it stirs you to be frustrated because you cannot understand my signing. Your signing isn't fluent in what I've seen in your videos so you cannot say you're an ASL interpreter just yet. I come from a Deaf family and I know who's good and great. I know who's bad and very bad.
@coolbeans1216 I'm sure people have said this to you already, but his interpretation of this song (and other songs I've seen) are fantastic. He has a great ability to keep the meaning and integrity of the song while still accurately interpreting it into ASL. That's hard to find (and hard to do, imo). And it's a performance, not interpreting so jumping around and dancing is acceptable and makes it much more interesting.
And for the record, I had no problem understanding his signs.
Post this as a "response" to CaptainValor's video. That way people will be able to see the difference between this interpretation and that one, and maybe (maybe???) learn something in the process about ASL as a language.

WOW!!!!! I finally got to see ASL Interpretation of this song, I got a feeling!!! I've been hearing this song on oprah youtube, radio, everywhere but never understand a word.. Thank you to this guy who interpreted this song!!! AWESOME!!!
Awesome interpretation. I like how you kinda dance along. It suits well with the song. But what's the sign you use at 0:29? You do this a couple of times in the video.
That sign is showing a large group of people dancing very closely together to the same beat. At least in this context that's what I interpret it to mean. It's related to the sign for "crowded"( (or "on top of each other") and he does it to the beat of the music. He shows the largeness of the group at the end of the sign by extending it out. Hope that makes sense!
