I watched the whole of An Inconvenient Truth and I don't believe one bit of it. You do realise that pretty much everyone believes the world is warming up right? Obviously it is all the glaciers are melting, the debate is whether man has influenced that warm up or not. The fact that it snowed where you live or something is hardly proof that the world is not warming up.
Still, the world has had hot and cold periods on graphs that go back centuries and centuries. We're most likely just having another one of those hot periods. Greenhouse gases are natural anyway and without them we will not be here. Most of the world's CO2 gets absorbed by the sea and trees. Also CO2 is heaver than air, so it doesn't rise up into the atmosphere, it falls to the ground, so thats the reason why myself and a lot more non-believers don't believe in global warming. Obvious really.
But see that was my point the earth IS getting warmer and yes it does fluctuate naturally maybe that is the cause so I can kind of understand how you choose not to believe in man caused global warming but how can you not believe in it at all? As to your science yes it is true that the oceans and plant life absorb CO2 but not as much as we produce, thats why atmospheric concentrations of CO2 have increased by 35% since the start of the Industrial Revoluion.

Great intentions, Ms. Ethridge. But conveniently for Mr. Gore, he didn't tell the truth. Sure there are lots of scientists that think humans are causing global warming, but the scientists that *actually* study C02's impact on climate say that if it affects climate at all, the affects are negligible.
The vast vast majority of scientist are convinced green house gases, and specifically carbon dioxide, are changing the climate and that we are reaching a tipping point, the consequence of which will be devastating, life threatening and rendering species extinct. You need to wake up taramail9.

There are loads of people out there who are saying global warming isn't happening but the fact is that it IS happening!! It's not just a cyclical phenomenon anymore. In the last century or so the CO2 levels have risen above the average & is certainly 4 times higher, if not more, in recent years (2005 onwards).

There is absolutely no serious scientific disagreement that global warming is happening and that it's our fault. The only reason so many people think there is is that the oil firms are throwing billions of dollars into spreading lies and misinformation by starting "think tanks" that are paid to "discover" exactly what the oil firms want and governments are being lazy and listening to the think tanks instead of the scientists because it means they don't have to do anything.

i do think there's a natural pattern to this..but i also greatly believe that all the co2 emissions, oil spills, water pollution, littering and cutting away forests is speeding up the process maybe about 10 fold..and im soo happy that companies have realized that 2009 is the time to go green. =)

Great intentions, Ms. Ethridge. But conveniently for Mr. Gore, he didn't tell the truth. Sure there are lots of scientists that think humans are causing global warming, but the scientists that *actually* study C02's impact on climate say that if it affects climate at all, the affects are negligible.

There are loads of people out there who are saying global warming isn't happening but the fact is that it IS happening!! It's not just a cyclical phenomenon anymore. In the last century or so the CO2 levels have risen above the average & is certainly 4 times higher, if not more, in recent years (2005 onwards).

There is absolutely no serious scientific disagreement that global warming is happening and that it's our fault. The only reason so many people think there is is that the oil firms are throwing billions of dollars into spreading lies and misinformation by starting "think tanks" that are paid to "discover" exactly what the oil firms want and governments are being lazy and listening to the think tanks instead of the scientists because it means they don't have to do anything.

I love this song! Melissa Etheridge is one of my heros. You know, even if this whole global warming thing is a load of crap, everything we're doing to help can't be hurting. Sure, there might not be anything to stop, but at least we're making an effort to help our planet. Too bad it took a potential environmental crisis to get us to act like we care about the Earth.
