That infamous "Rendezvous in Paris" high speed non-stop (as in one continuous take) drive on Paris streets in 1976 has a Ferrari 275 engine dubbed over the engine sound of the actual car they drove, which was a Mercedes 450SEL 6,9.
And this Kawasaki V12 doesn't sound anything like that, so you may as well heard that sound in a videogame.
For the record, Allen builds all of his bikes and, incidentally, his patented enclosed mountain bike drive (I think Cannondale are producing that...) at home in Berkshire. He uses a lathe made in the fifties and a milling machine of similar vintage. Things that need to be oven baked are, assuming they fit, baked in the kitchen oven. Aside from the V8 1500cc (two Kawa 750s as I recall), the numerous 5 cylinder two strokes, the V12 Z1300 and of course the Viper, he also made a V twin Honda SS50...
Where can I find some close-up photos of this engine? I'm assuming he made a new lower block assembly and crankshaft and then bolted two stock Kawasaki 6-cylinder inline barrel assemblies to it.
The sound is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!
There is a company producing Suzuki Hayabussa V-8's for sports-racing cars in this manner.
This is very impressive, not just how he built the thing with very modest equipment... But he rides it like a stolen horse! I have watched hundreds of clips of things built or rebuilt that are just idling or being driven like they are made of glass but NOT this guy, he is not afraid of the monster he created and that's just too cool. I wish he was my neighbor!
I just thought about my comment about cooling the back bank of cylinders, and I'd forgotten that these were water cooled. I'd been looking at video's of CBX's when I came across this, and had "air cooled" stuck in my mind! Awesome bike!
the only bike in this video is a Kawasaki (6cly)z1300 that the builder turned into a v12 2300 cc bike by cutting apart two z1300 crankcases ,then welding them together in a "V"config ...makes it a v12 . Try looking up the builder...Allen Millyard..he also makes kawasaki v8s, straight six and straight fives...and is a friend of mine
saw that tnx buddy, by the way while searching for this bike, i found a really nice one w/ a viper v10 engine on it kind of ike a cheaper version of the dodge tomahawk how crazy is that ...very very nice stuff.
He has made all sorts of weird bikes: 4-and 5 cylider verdions of old kawa triples, one bith 48 cylinders or somenthing, and different V8,V6 and V12 like this one. He has also made a regular bike-looking bike with the Viper V10 in it, 500 bhp. And lot's of the bikes he makes are sreet-legal. He's brilliant: )
This is truly an engineering masterpiece, Millyard has a history of equal creativity. Amazing that the finished bike still looks somehow stock. It is great to see that a hobbiest can create something so remarkable.
To show that they can, to show that they think and make inovations.remember the kawasaki H2 with the huge 2 stroke engine, these bikes needed some serious skills if you were to drive them and stay in one peace

There used to be a midget motor made by SESCO that was a fused V8. very fast little motor.

I wonder how he manages to cool the back bank of cylinders... Seems like they'd run much hotter than the front bank and cause problems!
Not bashing this at all, I think its awesome, just wondering!!

The engine is watercooled. That makes it a lot easier.

It clearly is a V 12, but how did he loose 300cc in the process ?
Anyone ?

Different crankshaft and therefore a shorter stroke maybe?

That makes sense. Thanks.
I'd kick myself for not having thought of that... ;-)

Had to sleeve down the cylinders for clearance.

you must be blind or you don't know anything about motorcycles.
he used 2 1300cc 6 cilinder kawasaki engines and slapped those together in a homemade crankcase.
