  • Anyone remember a radio interview he did many years ago (early '70's)with Anne Nightingale...He was a tough interviewee...Loved him then and still do...

  • Have seen him live many times. Love his singing, his playing and his state of mind.

  • Extraordinary interview, what an extraordinary guy. I saw him at the Rainbow in about 1971 and thought he had gone bonkers - thank goodness sanity regained.

  • bit of a juxta seeing him on such a programme

  • Seen Roy quite a few times live over the years, love the sense of closeness and friendliness at his gigs. He's a great guy, and he's definitely still got it at 70......All the best Roy.

  • Still thinking like a hippy eh Roy? What an odd guest to have on this show, he was never mainstream.

  • bizarre seeing him on this

  • Such an interesting and lovely man. Thanks for everything, Roy!

  • My Dansette youth brought back by a portal of the digital age - he's not bad is he?

When will BBC Music be launched...

  • I saw him in Clon last week, just amazing.

  • Incredible - why can't all interviews be this interesting?

  • Brilliant. xo

  • Brilliant thanks for posting Roy Harper is awesome he is one of very few who stood the test of time without selling out. Thanks Roy

  • Thanks so much for posting this. Iplayer didn't keep it. He's not really live breakfast telly material is he! Love his old stuff to death!!! Seen him live a few times. Never likes to play his real old stuff, which is understandable, but I wish he would!!

  • Love this! :)

  • Great to see the old boy being rolled out into the mainstream to give us a page of his thoughts.

Cracking stuff - I bet it certainly condused the normal audience at this time of day!

  • Mucho thanks for the cleaver person who recorded this, excellent! Hugs to all the Stormcockers Jo (Of the mary jane variety) xx

  • Great to see Roy on telly! Anyone who can start a song with the line "The kettle's on" and make it so beautiful has to be a genius!

  • bemused but delighted at the idea of Roy being on the telly

  • I was watching a vid of Roy singing Me and my woman rec somewhere in Holland last year..I didn't know he was still performing, then I was talking to a friend about it and she said he was on telly this morning so I'm very pleased to have found this and thank you for posting. Always a pleasure to hear Roy and he can still sing, lovely stuff.

  • Englands finest living poet....we love you Roy, please come to New York City soon.
