@Area 8800 and @ssuchiehli: Undeniably that US and Japan are friendly allies (in comparison to China) to Taiwan while China is Taiwan's unfriendly neighboring country. I think we all agreed that Taiwan is not a part of China, a state of US, nor a colony of Japan. According to my knowledge, the Taiwanese American community do shares the same view.

We all recall the tragedy (or embarrassment) of what our former president Chen had experienced and the Taiwanese American community had been working on this issue ever since. The problem may not be corrected overnight, but it is safe to say the problem is being addressed.
