This is an awesome song...it's kind of disheartening to read some of the comments left by people who have nothing better to do than criticize how Hillsong worships...they are an incredible worship team and we've used many of their songs in our own worship team with a similar impact...so for the person who said something about the lights and stuff our church doesn't have any of that...people are moved by the song and the presence of God not the image presented by the band

I personally think Hillsong and their concerts help teenagers grow closer to God through worship more than any other group because the music gets our attention, but we soon find ourselves falling on our knees in overwhelming outbursts of praise. I dont watch how they worship and their atmosphere, i feel God. Worshipping is not something for us to see, but is for us to communicate with God, to see God.
I dont care how others worship, or the songs, i just know that when i worship to communicate to God, to sing to Him.
You may know the song and the lyrics, but do you know the true meaning?
You may know the bible, but do you know the meaning of it?
For me, i dont really focus on the instruments, the singers or lightings. I'll just focus on the words and just sing it to God. How others worship is not for us to judge as is a personal thing between us and God. When we dont know what God has done in others lifes, we have no right to judge their way of worship.
I agree with warml that when people see Hillsong concert and compare with secular concert there is little difference. But I feel Gods presence in Hillsong concert and not the secular.

cont: i just feel we've drifted away from the real heart of worship. i dont think we should focus the cameras on the lead singers, their gibson guitars plus state of the art sound systems, their hundreds of dollar clothes, etc...
i watch a hillsong concert and see very little difffrence from a secular band's concert.
These songs are used in many churches across the country, when I watch them preform ... I am not often focusing on what they are wearing but what they are saying. What power is behind the words. & I must agree with what Remote said.. If I wanted to go to a concert for the instruments I would not choose Hillsong.....
i wonder if people would still go to hillsong concerts and conferences if the bands said, "when you come to the concert, you will not be able see us because we will be covered with a gigantic sheet, there will be no light show, just the crowd in musical communion with God.
No doubt in my mind. The atmosphere, the music, the pure praise of thousands of like-minded followers, oh yeah, id be there. Coming from a drummer, it'd be fun to go there to see how people like Rolf Wam (the drummer in this vid) do their thing. But that would ONLY be a miniscule benefit on the side.
Just know that there is at least one christian that would prove your theory wrong. You make a good point, there is a bit of overkill.
But most people's hearts are in the right place. Because to tell you the truth, if i wanted to go to a concert to see a BAND perform, i would not see hillsong.

heres the thing music inspires an emotional response from people. Same with the lights and the atmosphere. They don't use the lights to put on a show they use them to create a mood that helps people enter into worship. And for the person who said they are wearing expensive clothes.... dude seriously how do you know how much they paid for them? And besides that what does it matter... Seems to me that you need to redirect your focus onto God instead of worrying about what they are doing
You're right mate, but it's not only the music. Have you ever gone into a gap between worship songs, with nobody playing/singing, and suss out what you feel? You feel god. Although hillsong uses lots of effects/lights/media, the focus of it is still to glorify God.

this latest album is quite so strange since Darlene Zschech is (for the first time) not the worship Pastor... this worship event (seems to me) turns out into somewhat of a concert. :)
Yeah, strange is a good word, but its a good strange. These recordings are huge, cause the church is huge, and there are multi sites for the church services, so they put on this "event" each year for album recording. I respect Darlene for stepping out of the spotlight and allowing the many other talents of the church to share the leading experience. She is training the next generation. But i see your point.. its a transition even for us who just follow Hillsong stuff and dont attend teh church.
check out Ben Fielding, man I love his guitar "Big Red" I notice he has the strap positioned higher then when they recorded "Saviour King" last year. Go Fields of Joy!
This is truly a powerful song. I love it when Darlene allows the "church" to sing without the music. To me it sounds like a prayer to God. It's great to see people of all ages crying out to God.

This is an awesome song...it's kind of disheartening to read some of the comments left by people who have nothing better to do than criticize how Hillsong worships...they are an incredible worship team and we've used many of their songs in our own worship team with a similar impact...so for the person who said something about the lights and stuff our church doesn't have any of that...people are moved by the song and the presence of God not the image presented by the band

We went from Puerto Rico to the Colour Conference and the concert. Been in the concert was awesome...the Presence of God...wow.
I fell in love with Jesus all over again and Australia was a beautiful scenario for it. : )

I personally think Hillsong and their concerts help teenagers grow closer to God through worship more than any other group because the music gets our attention, but we soon find ourselves falling on our knees in overwhelming outbursts of praise. I agree that the lights and music are purely meant to set the mood for worship, nothing else. Although I do know some people who like Hillsong more than anyone purely based on the fact that they like the music and guitar solos, I believe that most teens

i think its a really goooooood thing to make modern music for god. Its Worship for Teens!!! Teens thinks that to be a christ is a old thing but this is not so. A wonderful thing is Hilsong.

I dont watch how they worship and their atmosphere, i feel God. Worshipping is not something for us to see, but is for us to communicate with God, to see God.
I dont care how others worship, or the songs, i just know that when i worship to communicate to God, to sing to Him.
You may know the song and the lyrics, but do you know the true meaning?
You may know the bible, but do you know the meaning of it?
You may know who God is, but do you know God?

For me, i dont really focus on the instruments, the singers or lightings. I'll just focus on the words and just sing it to God. How others worship is not for us to judge as is a personal thing between us and God. When we dont know what God has done in others lifes, we have no right to judge their way of worship.
I agree with warml that when people see Hillsong concert and compare with secular concert there is little difference. But I feel Gods presence in Hillsong concert and not the secular.

cont: i just feel we've drifted away from the real heart of worship. i dont think we should focus the cameras on the lead singers, their gibson guitars plus state of the art sound systems, their hundreds of dollar clothes, etc...
i watch a hillsong concert and see very little difffrence from a secular band's concert.

These songs are used in many churches across the country, when I watch them preform ... I am not often focusing on what they are wearing but what they are saying. What power is behind the words. & I must agree with what Remote said.. If I wanted to go to a concert for the instruments I would not choose Hillsong.....

No doubt in my mind. The atmosphere, the music, the pure praise of thousands of like-minded followers, oh yeah, id be there. Coming from a drummer, it'd be fun to go there to see how people like Rolf Wam (the drummer in this vid) do their thing. But that would ONLY be a miniscule benefit on the side.
Just know that there is at least one christian that would prove your theory wrong. You make a good point, there is a bit of overkill.

But most people's hearts are in the right place. Because to tell you the truth, if i wanted to go to a concert to see a BAND perform, i would not see hillsong.

heres the thing music inspires an emotional response from people. Same with the lights and the atmosphere. They don't use the lights to put on a show they use them to create a mood that helps people enter into worship. And for the person who said they are wearing expensive clothes.... dude seriously how do you know how much they paid for them? And besides that what does it matter... Seems to me that you need to redirect your focus onto God instead of worrying about what they are doing

You're right mate, but it's not only the music. Have you ever gone into a gap between worship songs, with nobody playing/singing, and suss out what you feel? You feel god. Although hillsong uses lots of effects/lights/media, the focus of it is still to glorify God.

This song is on my ipod... i was doing hw last night and was listening... then i just couldnt stop playing it over and over agian... finished the homework and then just played it infinitely and it just felt good singing my heart out to God!

Worshiping God should not be abt the singer singing it, but to focus on God alone, if you focus on th singer instead, it's just feels so wrong. But I have to admit she's a really good singer..and the song's really nice(:

Its know as the passing of the baton,Darlene knew that it wasn't about her from the beginning that's why she was great,cos God lifts up the humble and so she has been teaching and guiding these guys and so she has passed the baton,passing the mission on all for the glory of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.Praise God for a woman like her and I also praise God for the younger generation!!

this latest album is quite so strange since Darlene Zschech is (for the first time) not the worship Pastor... this worship event (seems to me) turns out into somewhat of a concert. :)

Yeah, strange is a good word, but its a good strange. These recordings are huge, cause the church is huge, and there are multi sites for the church services, so they put on this "event" each year for album recording. I respect Darlene for stepping out of the spotlight and allowing the many other talents of the church to share the leading experience. She is training the next generation. But i see your point.. its a transition even for us who just follow Hillsong stuff and dont attend teh church.

This is truly a powerful song. I love it when Darlene allows the "church" to sing without the music. To me it sounds like a prayer to God. It's great to see people of all ages crying out to God.
