Yi need AS for doublehit, and he gets a lot of AD from Wuju style. For him, phantomdancer is the best first priority. Critical hits with Wuju, and movement. Its different with miss fortune, as she has a skill that provides AS, and nothing for AD. Vayne.. say no more.

@PerfectionObsessive No, a good Vayne-player knows that you will proc off your W using your other abilities. Autoattack - Q- attack - E into wall - stunned target and W proc and you've probably got yourself a kill. Off course, buying a PD early on (after IE ofc) isn't bad, but it's mainly because of it's crit and Movespeed. So basically you don't need AS until late game, cuz that's when the enemy champs are starting to become a real problem, thinking about tankyness, but early-game: DMGISBETTER!

Question: Were I to go for a melee DPS, would crit >> att spd (to a reasonable degree). It's easier as a ranged AD carry to get multiple shots off in a row, but for a melee carry, its harder to get a series of shots off (but not impossible obviously). I just wonder if it's better to hit harder per hit rather then hit faster, but still only get a few hits off in a series before running again

@ all the people who say that AP's can be carries. Carry is a term to describe a certain role on a team. A core team consists of 1 tank, 1 jungler, 1 AP, 1 AD and 1 support. The AD is often refered to as a carry, as he will be the main damage dealer on the team, and most likely the one with least survivability. The reason AD's are called carries, is the fact that they need to be carried in order to carry. This is because they need gold more than they need levels, which is what AP's need.

For all those questioning the definition of a true (or hard) carry, there is a reason why AP champs are not true carries. Generally, AP champions peak in the mid-game, but after that, they get weaker by comparison to AD champions. AD champions start off a lot weaker, but they get stronger and stronger the longer the game goes on.

In the end-game, an AD carry will always do more damage than an AP carry, plus they can destroy towers much quicker.

Ive found its kinda pointless to go Attack damage on him.

Rush blood razor, then hit his W and your doing 10% of their hp as magic damage with each attack.

He doesn't need attack damage unless your opponent is a tank with some heavy magic resist, although malady helps alot with that, as well as providing attack speed.

Had to stop watching because you got so much wrong. Jungling does NOT always give you more gold than laning, if you are good with last hits/early kills you will get more gold laning. The primary reason to jungle is not that you will benefit, it's that the ally you leave on solo lane will benefit by getting much more XP and gold than otherwise.

Said by TSM and other pro's, carries are defined as auto attackers mainly because the main source of their damage comes straight from substainable damage. Ap champions such as Kayle are also under the hard carry category because of her aa while akali isnt.

There's a middle ground between "AP nuker" and "AD carry". Akali, for example, has pretty sustained damage as well as nice burst. The same can be said of Morde, Vlad, and a bunch of other champs that aren't 'nuke' per-se. I'd call these AP carries.

@leaguetopten having a high auto-attack damage doesn't make you a "true" carry. being a true carry means that you bring the hurt during team fights and are able to turn the fight towards your teams favor. the reason AD have high auto-attack is just so they CAN keep up with the AP carries in terms of damage. I've carried tons of teams AP, Ryze in particular. Being a carry isn't limited by AD/AP, its the players' skill to control fights.

@leaguetopten You seem to be completely missing Cassiopeia. Completely sustained, long range AP carry. And your comment about only starting with doran's, and not getting stacking items, rub me the wrong way. Mejai's is a great item, much more efficient than Leviathan or Occult. And starting with a different regen item and potions is a great way to go. Maybe a regrowth pendant for a Philosopher's Stone, or a Meki for a Tear (Cass), or a Ruby for a Catalyst (or Sapphire + pots).

@SilentderLaute Lux is no real caster? She has a 30 second cooldown ultimate that does over 800 damage with the right items. Veigar, can one shot any overfed AP hero, or take them down in 2 shots. Kennen, I admit is more sustained DPS, but can still pump out brilliant burst. Annie, Vlad and Anivia are the same, but Vlad is more sustained, but Annie and Anivia are pretty bursty. Please learn your game before you come preaching.

Annie/anivia/vlad are dangerous even without items and if they get feed they destroy almost everything.... a veigar without a lot of gold is quiet useless and his early game is pretty much terrible.... so i don`t count him as a carry cuz feeding annie instead is better and easier ...

Lux/kennen etc are strong i agree still i dont think they can wreck enemy teams almost alone cuz of lack of CC/staying power or range..

Kennen is rly strong but his low range and his energy system...meh

Didn't get through the whole video yet, but I disagree with your recap comments. Some Carry champions are better off with AS or AD/AS first, like Yi. With Wuju style as your secondary pump skill, you are better off grabbing a PDancer, SotD, Ghostblade, or even a Cleaver first, *most* of the time.

I think Panth really isn't a carry in the sense that he's more like an AD version of burst caster. He is powerful early game and tends to fall off lategame in comparison to other carries in terms of damage unless being fed.

Also, in response to stark's. Its not very always very good because in order to get the max benefit, people needs to be in a group and you have at least 2-3 people in your team which benefits from auto-attack. Getting stunned and killed has nothing to do with it, whether you got yourself some AD items or starks.

Having low attack damage but high attack speed does less damage than a balanced build NOT because people have armor. It is because its not gold effective. With the same amount of gold, when you have low attack damage, it is more effective to buy AD first.

Champions like Warwick can't really carry the team. He's more like an offtank and he doesn't deal much damage lategame. Olaf is an offtank too. Shaco is an early game ganker and he has no value during a teamfight. And Jax? Isn't he like an anticary? I don't think Jax could carry the team.... unless the enemies are dumb. Pantheon can only carry if he gets really fed. If he just farms and deosn't have a level advantage to destroy the enemy team early and midgame, he won't do much lategame.

I think it should be mentioned that since a melee carry will always be in range of attacks, that survivability should always come after 1-2 damage items. Banshee's Veil or Frozen Mallet are both great for melee carries.
