Hmm, basically, if you know what key the song is in, you take the melody note and either go down two notes in the scale or up two notes in the scare (a third in either direction). Sometimes one will sound better, sometimes the other one will. Just send me a message, or the song you're trying to do, I can try and help. Winning your love back is a big deal :)

The C flute has some intonation problems at certain notes. You did very good. You might try using a metronome in your recording program to keep you together through all of the music. It's really hard to play together with a rubato piece... Keep playing!
