  • Wow! Great movie! I am surprised there are only 70,000 views.

  • Is that alarm sound from Sly Copper 1?

  • @legokingmike No, it's an old recording of a military Klaxon alarm. They all pretty much sound the same, though, so perhaps that game used a similar sound.

  • Best Viral lego Stop motion---- EVER---- Hear that people------EVER!

  • shweet!

  • The end reminded me of a good Twilight Zone episode.

  • Oh my god, I finnally found this video! One of the greatest Lego films of all time, I forgot the name but I was serching for this video for 3 days!

  • 3:48 where do you get torso???

  • i never saw better movies but this movie is greatest on lego movie on youtube

  • so a plant was in the case :0

  • Sorry I ran out of room for my explanation. and others when animation was choppy and quality was average with a small amount of CGI, but the videos are relatively interesting. The second era kicked off with keshen's advancement in animation. Many FLAs replicated keshen's techiques, adding CGI, smooth transitions, and other advancements

  • Where did you get the Black Fedora/Indiana Jones Hat from?

  • @BrickOfSteel I made it gray with post production effects. Basically outlined it all by hand.

  • @SmeagolStudios Wow. You must be REEEEEEALLY patient.

  • @SmeagolStudios You are a professional.

  • @BrickOfSteel i have one xD i got free one ..

  • one of the best brick films I've seen on youtube. Should have a lot more viewings than it currently has.

  • The voice acting for every character but jack sucked

  • @SmeagolStudiods Actually trailers for Wall-E had been released before this was made. So he could have easily copied it.

  • Its like the 6 day

  • awesome bro, i felt like i was legitly watching a movie. heard about it from nxt maniac studios.

  • DID YOU COPY WALL-E????

  • @EP1KCAMPER I think you're joking but if not check out the video description

  • how com the ads have no buffering and the video has loads un fair:(

  • 5/5 stars, one of the best brickfilms on youtube.

  • Awesome!

  • wow

  • this is one of the best brickfilms i have ever seen! keep up the good work!

  • i like the way you put the water drops on his hat!

  • it was beast but that ending was LAME!!!

  • how did you make the rain at the begining

  • This is so one of my favourite videos it has the best quality graphics effects every thing

  • Great job painting the hat. It looks like you bought it like that. I don't know if you were trying to make it black but the LEGO stores with customizable mini figure counters have black fedoras. Just a heads up if you plan to ever remake this our something like it.

  • @RoryVideos I didn't paint it, it was done in post-production. But anyway it's dark gray, not black, so if Jack ever makes another appearance I'd probably do something similar to what I did this time.

  • @SmeagolStudios Did u mask the, hat and just remove the RGB from it, so it's like B&W just on the masked section, bcs the hat would give of a dark greyish color already if u actually filmed it in B&W?

  • @AgentJuly19903 Yes, that's exactly right

  • @RoryVideos They actually have black fedoras, I'm not sure what set or them it was from, but I know Lego did make them

  • @nightfire734 Yeah. You can buy them with customizable mini figure counters at any LEGO store.

  • Very Coole! You are the best!

  • at 4:14 the green light is computer made or did you just set a green light or any light to get this effect??

  • @ktoschris It's a flashlight shining through trans-green LEGO pieces.

  • sulated this video won 5 awards at the NXT awards :3

  • Wow best lego storyline i have ever seen

  • how did you make the mouths move like that? also you should post tutorials

  • incredible animation!!! I really think this is the best lego animation video I have ever seen. Can you please tell me how to make it. Thank you. I look up to you as a role model.

  • incredible animation and epic CGI, but i was dissapointed that there was no action, like most detective and spy-ish movies..all talking but very good job..i especially liked the rain....though how did u get the mouths to move like that? Which software and how?

  • @MrGopherAnimation answered your PM about it. As far as action...it's modeled after film noir of the 1930s-1940s, which was generally very much about tension and dramatic/relational conflicts; these detective films tended not to have much in the way of action scenes because it was more about tension than all-out thrills. It's all about intrigue, emotions, etc. and I think inserting action movies into that would really have killed the tone.

  • how did u make the city?

  • @hjeepisbest magic. also some computer animation.

  • Best brickfilm making team I've seen so far. Editing; story, lights, dubs, everything is so smooth and the stories gets you carried away..

  • Wow! That was Incredible! What 3d animation program did you use?

  • just an epic lego movie!

  • awesome

  • Not only was this a simple stop motion, but I noticed some things that the film didn't need, but put a nice touch to it. Very good job!

  • how did you make the rain

  • @lego13brothers1 with a spray bottle

  • i love this kinda bladerunnerish atmosphere goin on: jazzy music, futuristic setting, and raining in some shots

  • There's a brickfilm as good as this. It's called Picturesque. It has 3 parts to it.

  • Your the best! How did you do the mouth movements?

  • @mrjedimaster229 This may not be true, but I think he used Axogon Composer.

  • I saw the Poly-Tech logo on Jack's air purifier.

  • I am making a fifteen-minute movie about an undercover branch of the CIA. I need your permission to use the name and personality of Carl Orsino for a serial killer.

  • @joshyboot uhh...no thanks, come up with your own characters please. Thanks.

  • Do you use a certain animation software for your movies? I use Stop Motion Pro, the program that the guys who do Wallace and Grommit use. It works pretty well in most cases

  • @joshyboot Stop Motion Pro has some nice bells and whistles, personally I don't use any stop motion software. I just take still images and sequence them into a video afterward.

  • @joshyboot Did you buy Stop Motion Pro or download it?

  • joshyboot @VideoInLife I bought it for $180.

  • amazing, best lego vid ever!!! reminds me of walle

  • @aatvideos This does take some ideas from Wall-E. But he made this before Wall-E came out. So it's not considered Copyright.

  • @BrickfilmAnimation It doesn't take ideas from Wall-E, which I couldn't possibly have seen anything of before writing the script and making most of the film. I finished it before Wall-e came out. There are a couple of superficial similarities because they were both inspired somewhat by the film "Silent Running."

  • @SmeagolStudios Oh. I forgot. it takes after Silent Running. It has similarities to Wall-E. Am I right?

  • @BrickfilmAnimation read the vid description

  • @BrickfilmAnimation Now I see. Both Wall-E and this film borrow ideas from, "Silent Running." I'm sorry.

  • i really liked it. its better than all those kiddy Lego animations that people do.

  • @TDogg186 Yes it is. And over the years of filming my tests, I've improved a lot. My movies will be HD and I'm making a detective film myself. It's called,"The Criminal Incident." So don't make fun of my test. PLEASE! Or I will flag all your videos.

  • @BrickfilmAnimation well I will make fun of what I like. You cant flag my videos because you don't like my comment. My videos are all within the terms of use and don't infringe on your rights or anyone else's rights. In other words you cant intimidate me.

  • @TDogg186 I'm just trying to point out. Do people listen these days? So yes, my video looks bad. But it's just a test run. So it is not supposed to look good the first time. I've improved over the years. I promise you. My videos will almost as good as this one. So lets be friends. Alright? I made that video when I was 10.

  • @BrickfilmAnimation ok i agree. are you a member of bricks in motion?

  • @TDogg186 Actually, yes. Go to my channel, and you'l' see a link to bricks in motion. And search Brickfilm Animation. I have no videos on there, but you can look at it.

  • im sorry but to me that hat looks black and to me i thought u got it from the indiana jones shang hi chase or something

  • @MrRedraider100 I dunno if this is a reply to something, but it was the brown hat, I made it gray in post-production. In some of the darker scenes it's tough to tell I suppose, but yeah it's gray not black. The shanghai chase set didn't exist yet when I made this movie.

  • @SmeagolStudios ooo now i see it sorry i see it now any way great movie

  • @MrRedraider100 He outlined it gray frame-by-frame. But there is a black "Indiana Jones" hat. You can find them at Lego stores.

  • And well thought out.

  • Well-Done,

  • excellent,

  • in words of this, great,

  • This is probably the most well-done brickfilm so far of this generation!

  • wow i never had time to see this but it's amazing and i loved how the whole thing makes sense at the last few seconds

  • There MUST be a sequel.

  • There MUST be a sequel.

  • Not only have you mastered setting for us a 1940's atmosphere, but you have reminded us of another great classic, "Grace" by Nosniborus.

Smeagol, you have outdone yourself, let alone bested all great brickfilms I know of currently.

If you don't mind me asking, what program did you use for your green screening?

  • @razorxxlego

Oh nevermind. I saw your "behind the scenes" description on your website.

    Great job on the film!

  • @razorxxlego CompositeLab, it's part of a suite of software by FXHome

  • @SmeagolStudios

Thanks dude, and how did you do the lighting effects such as at 4:15 with the air purifier and at 4:22 with the phone ringing?

  • @razorxxlego flashlights. trans-green lego. patience. The phone effect was touched up in post somewhat, too, I used a mask around the stud to mask in a frame with the light shining on it.

  • @SmeagolStudios

    Ooh that's clever! Thanks.

  • @razorxxlego He used Axagon Composer, a free video editing software. If you have Win 98/XP/2000, you can download it

  • Hey man, amazing videos! I mean, you really captured that time period, and even how the government acts today (all secretive) This is truly a masterpiece. Great effects, animation, all around. Keep up the good work!

p.s- If you ever need an extra voice, ill be happy to help!

  • Aren't you planning on making a sequel to this? It would be cool. I'm entering the Avant-Garde contest. I will make a detective film myself. What do you think, Smeagol?

  • SEQUEL pleasessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss. I beg of u!!!!!!!!!

  • Well done Smeagol.

  • you should make a sequel

  • I agree

  • Me too

  • EPIC movie.

  • your the best brick filmer on youtube i love your use of stop motion and 3d animations and your realy good at editing. awsome :D

  • wow, just... wow

  • this is the most awesome lego movie ever made 5 stars

  • uh... i dont get it

  • It's saying how there's a mystery in new air purifiers because the world is really polluted, right? So the whole mystery wraps around a plant that will renew the world...I think...Am I right Sméagol?

  • More or less, there are some elements that are deliberately ambiguous to allow for the viewer's interpretation. I think Jack's attitude toward the mystery and society is really more important than the mystery itself.

  • i saw your video on nxtmaniac awards

  • omg......that was awomsome the polt 5/5

the story 5/5 the climax 4/5 and the ending 5/5

im sorry but that vid might just be the best iv ever seen.

  • that was totaly awsome!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dude this is ausome the way they move, talk, blink, everything this is the best lego movie i ever seen

  • that was the most proffesional brickfilm i have ever seen!!!

  • speechless...........

  • Wow, just wow....

  • I have never seen such a beautiful and well put togther stopmotion as good as yours and to top it of the computer-generated effects lookrd great like the rain and the water.

  • did you paint the indiana jones hat gray?

  • No, I filmed with the brown hat then outlined it frame by frame to make it gray in post-production.

  • that must of taken a while

  • @TheLegoboy65 -BrickfilmAnimation

If he did spray-paint his hat, it would be ruined. And it wouldn't look good. That's why he outlined it frame-by-frame. Right Smeagol?

  • awesome

  • this was the best stop motion that i have seen

  • This looks incredibly proffesional, smeagol. Fantastic blend of computer-generated effects with traditional stop motion! Was the water animated by some peice of software?

  • The raindrops were done in-camera with a spray-bottle, but the rest of the water was created in Carrara.

  • Ah, cool! Thanks for replying.

  • the last stand is longer but i like this better

  • how did you get the rain effect

  • Very well done and most enjoyable! Certainly one of the best video productions I have seen recently. Creative and imaginative.

  • what's a LAYGO????

  • it was just some stupid thing that i did when my friends came over.

  • in other words a joke. haha.

  • oh lol

  • u rule at thsi!!

  • How make talk effect? You know mouth moves etc.

  • it freezes every two secs because the file downloading is so big, just pause it and wait until the vid is loaded half way then u will watch it smoothly :)

  • Amazing, that is so cool. i wish i could rate it 10 stars

  • That was incredible! Easily one of the best brickfilms I've ever seen.

  • dude that was asome its like a real movie you should soooo make another as the next part to it :)

  • this is awersome

  • Impressed. This was by far not only the best produced Lego movie I have ever seen but one of the best stop motion videos as well. A+++

  • This vid freezes every 2 secs..

  • pause it and wait 4 it to load

  • Congrats on all those awards

  • brillant work!!!!

  • Amazing the lip syncing is just superb

  • That was very amazing. Great work indeed.

  • how can that guy be eclared inysint when everybody saw him i just don't understand

  • It's something of a joke; in the 40s and 50s the legal defense would sometimes plead "temporary insanity," meaning the criminal was insane while committing the crime but is now sane. Basically an easy way out of facing punishment.

  • okay i understand know..... oh and can you make an tutorial of making mouth animation it looks fantastic

  • nice story line and great efects you should do more like this.

  • WOW! This is some serious stuff!

  • How did you make the mouth animations.

  • How did you make the effects

  • i meant to say part 2, sorry.

  • is this the whole movie. Please make a part 1, because i like secret agent/ spy/ detective movies

  • Well done....excellent effects, awesome animation, and one of the best stories i've ever heard!! 5/5

  • Thanks for telling me about the download. I downloaded it and made a fan trailer and was wondering if I could post it.

  • A few other people have done the same, it's fine with me I guess. Just make sure to link to the original video or post it as a video response and be clear it's a fan trailer.

  • I will, Thanks

  • maybe you should do a sequel. this is made so well. Maybe Jack expands on the air purifyer case

  • great movie i thought the story was brill
