Actually read the interview in February 2006, Saddam's General Ali Ibrahim al-Tikriti who lived during the Iraq-Iran war in the 1980s even said that US never gave Iraq WMDs but only ingredients that could have been made ouf low-chemical use. The fact is most of the WMDs came from Europe and USSR, we're not even on the top ten of the list.

ROTFL Saddam murdered himself WAY into power in 1968 as Baath Party leader and as a leader of Iraq in 1979. You had no proof that CIA put him into power as leader of Iraq. In 1981, Israeli Air force destroyed a nuclear reactor build by France in Iraq to deny Iraq a capability to build it's WMDs program.

Sadaam built his army with SOVIET weaponry, funded by his oil, and money from Saudi and Kuwait (so Sadaam could protect them from Iran).

European companies assisted with his WMD programs. Like poison gas (Germany), and nuclear technology (France). Get your facts straight.

The Reagan administration tried to get Sadaam into our Sphere of Influence, but he opted for the Soviets because they'd sell him weaponry without question or strings attached. We wouldn't.

We gave intel to Sadaam when he was losing the war so the Iranians couldn't win (bad for us), then later we transfered anti-tank missles to Iran (via Isreal, money from the sale went to the Contras) so Iran could prevent Sadaam from winning (again, bad for us).

Of the three options, the least unnacceptable was them NOT FIGHTING. That was our preferred scenerio (as was the rest of the world). The two fought until exhausted though.
