@beervark I accidentally thumbed up this comment. you're dumb. Shane MacGowan was born in Ireland to Irish parents and the the Pogues' music and even their name are heavily influenced by Irish music and culture.
@beervark the pogues were an irish rock band formed in 1982 and fronted by shane macgowan, macgowan left the band in 91 because of a drinking problem, but the band carried on throughout untill 1996 where they then split up, the band then reformed in 2001 and played mostly on the US coast on st patricks day!! they were founded in london although he was born on xmas day in kent whilst his parents were visiting relatives he grew up in tipperary he was irish by soul and heart but not by blood
''we walked him to the station in the rain, we kissed him as we put him on the train, any we sang him a song of times long gone, oh we knew that we'd be seeing him again..'' the lyrics my friend, the lyrics encompassed with irish trad passion and great meaning for any tastefule person, you have good taste!
hicksy1982, could you please fix the picture? It looks like your vid got squashed back when You Tube did one of their maintenance! Many of my favorite vids ended up looking like this! Oh, and The Pogues Rule!
Favorite song from that band.
