I really want to like this show, I really do. I just...can't. Much like Tanner Faust on Super Cars Exposed, there is a lack of a certain professionalism and personality for me to get to like this as much as possible. I can, however, respect this for what it is, but the show (for me) is just unwatchable.

how can u guys doubt the fact that audi is "up there" with lambo and other much respected car manufacturers? In europe, a car's quality, especially a highly appreciated sports/track cars, comes from numerous years of Lemans race. And audi has fair number of wins along with Porsche, Mercedes, and BMW. If we're talking about personal preferences such as looks of the exterior and interior, they could all be different, but audi's technologies are nothing to be laughed at u know.
People really need to stop comparing the 911 and the R8 based on numbers and track stats. A car is more than just how fast it can do a quarter mile or go from 0-60; it's the style and it's the feel. Aesthetically speaking, I think most people would agree that the 911 can't compete with the R8 unless you're a Porsche fanboy, in which case you should stop reading my comment or you might work yourself up writing an angry response.
Putting two somo wrestlers in an R8 would drastically effect its performance. So even with two elephants inside if it can perform well, it is the car to go.

Great review even though I don't entirely agree with the comparison to the Gallardo. I've only driven the V8 manual but I can imagine what's it like with an extra 100hp. The R8 much more German then the Gallardo is more precise and balanced the quattro is more liberal so you can pull spectacular slides. And keeping in mind all the equipment on the Lambo came from the A8. The R8 is a good well balanced drivers car puts me in mind of the NSX-R. Everything about is precision.

I really want to like this show, I really do. I just...can't. Much like Tanner Faust on Super Cars Exposed, there is a lack of a certain professionalism and personality for me to get to like this as much as possible. I can, however, respect this for what it is, but the show (for me) is just unwatchable.

reviewing a supercar should be fun, just like Top Gear or any other car shows for that matter, i think TheSmokingTire has done a really great job and make it fun... don't care about the facts/stats, big smile is enough to describe the expression... I wish I could audition for the next driver though. Cheers !

@TheSmokingTire i love your logic about the comments people give. its true that people who buy these cars are looking for what they feel is right. and the guy about the slobs driving... to be honest i bet there are a lot in the world. but who cares... personally i still prefer a 911, but i so still love the styling of the R8. and it is true a 911 can be scary at the limit but its all pure fun!

how can u guys doubt the fact that audi is "up there" with lambo and other much respected car manufacturers? In europe, a car's quality, especially a highly appreciated sports/track cars, comes from numerous years of Lemans race. And audi has fair number of wins along with Porsche, Mercedes, and BMW. If we're talking about personal preferences such as looks of the exterior and interior, they could all be different, but audi's technologies are nothing to be laughed at u know.

People really need to stop comparing the 911 and the R8 based on numbers and track stats. A car is more than just how fast it can do a quarter mile or go from 0-60; it's the style and it's the feel. Aesthetically speaking, I think most people would agree that the 911 can't compete with the R8 unless you're a Porsche fanboy, in which case you should stop reading my comment or you might work yourself up writing an angry response.

Putting two somo wrestlers in an R8 would drastically effect its performance. So even with two elephants inside if it can perform well, it is the car to go.

in my opinion, a 2 seat, mid-engined and really expensive car isnt good for a daily drive...
i would get a gt-r for a daily drive and a r8 for the weekends...if i had the money, of course!

Buy a gtr, put a cobb stage 2 and u can beat this r8, Porsche gt2, and gallardo 560lp on a straight line as well. If gtr didn't exist, this r8 wouldve receive a 10 rating.

Great review even though I don't entirely agree with the comparison to the Gallardo. I've only driven the V8 manual but I can imagine what's it like with an extra 100hp. The R8 much more German then the Gallardo is more precise and balanced the quattro is more liberal so you can pull spectacular slides. And keeping in mind all the equipment on the Lambo came from the A8. The R8 is a good well balanced drivers car puts me in mind of the NSX-R. Everything about is precision.
