Maybe it does, but from what I've learned from my Guam history classes it seems as if every time Guam tried to play an active role in its own governing it seems as if the U.S. government just kind of disregarded it. I don't know if anything has changed recently that's really changed that, but it doesn't seem that way to me.

The reason Guam gets no respect in the House is because other than being a strategic military outpost...Guam can not provide the Main Land with any monetary gains. Guam has no exports (except for cars...save this one for another discussion) and all Guam does is ask for monetary aid. Until Guam can show that it can stand on its own two feet, no one in the House, or in the Main Land will shine a spec of respect for the Island i live in and love.

Yeah, there are a few too many members, however I have seen a ton of island improvement projects and volunteer efforts from both bases, so they don't disrespect us.

Any fighting between the US and any country in Asia, Guam is a very tactical location,you can fly your airplanes there, land, refill your gas and fix your plane, rest, and then the next day fly and do what you need to do in Asia. You can reach anywhere if you own Guam. I'm not say people are gonna blow up Guam, but if a war broke out (Example-China) people are gonna want Guam. That means there will be fighting there.
