@videosbythe5 The major difference you're going to find with a civilian AR-15 and an m16/M4 is that the M4 and M16 will have a full-auto bolt and an auto sear. There are different versions of the m16, the most current M16 being used is the M16a4 (semi-auto and 3 round burst) and the M4 (full-auto and semi-auto). M16's and M4's are AR-15 platform weapons.

@doowopit in the pas three months, i have learned that.Although the m1 carbine is a bit heavier than handgun, but you cant put a scope on it, it does not have the range, but the m2 carbine was made for continuos fire, and the m3 version as a sniper and the m4 is basically a chopped m16.and i heard that some m1 carbines were made for continuos fire.

@videosbythe5 Because it's better to have a rifle with twice the kinetic energy of a .45 and far better accuracy? It was given to a lot of "special" troops (those who's jogs weren't just to shoot people) that carried a lot of extra gear. A garand was too heavy and the pistol wasn't adequate. This filled the spot perfectly.

The correct answer is, "A magazine has a spring, a clip does not". A clip is simply a piece of metal, no different then a woman's hair clip. Not every magazine is required to be fed with a clip. The Garand is unique in this case. I reload AR mags and AK mags without a clip all the time. It's pretty simple unless your biased toward the Garand.

So I don't see why it would be wrong to say a spent mag because I did spend all the ammunition in the mag hence making it spent. Although one could say a spent shell the expression could be applied an empty magazine. Seeing as how anyone should underatnd what a spent mag (including you) would mean I don't see why it would be wrong to say. It's not like clip vs. magazine, they are different things.

This is incorrect.

To put matters bluntly, a clip feeds a magazine. A magazine feeds a rifle. To better illustrate this, consider the M1 rifle.

When loading an M1 Garand, operators utilize an en-bloc clip. (The M1 Garand contains an internal magazine.) The en-bloc clip feeds into the internal magazine; the internal magazine feeds the rifle.
