It was all just decent, we want a Superman film that is fantastic! Get better actors, more action, better story... a better Superman movie! The sequel for "Superman Returns" has been cancelled for almost two years now. Brandon Routh has said in interviews that his contract to play Superman again has now expired. Therefore, he will not be coming back unless he renews it. "Superman Returns" was not a very good movie and fails as a story about a superhero. I sure wish there was a reboot restarting with Krypton- the next Superman movies need to do just like the current Batman movies. More villains need to be used other than Lex Luthor.

Actually- Nuclear Man was in "Superman 4: The Quest For Peace". "Superman 3" had the super computer called W.E.B.S.T.E.R. named after criminal mastermind Ross Webster who was filling in for Lex Luthor. Lex Luthor is too important to be left out of the stories- but he should stop being the only villain used in them. I am ready to see ones Superman can actually fight with such as Metallo, Brainiac, and Darkseid. Those are his top villains other than Lex Luthor and would be perfect for fighting.
You are right. Superman 3 & 4 were so bad I just lumped them together. I would be nice if the powers that be make the next Superman project a two or three part continuing series. With characters like Darkseid there's just too much to cram into only 2 hours. And film them back to back. Like they did with Back to the future or Lord of the rings, so we don't have to wait 3 years per movie.

He basically wanted to do a whole story divided into three films about the entire life of Superman. It is completely unknown which villains he wanted to use.

To be a Superhero you must be tested you must be put up against unbearable odds you must be put in positions where normal ppl would give up. and for a SUPERMAN you will need a SUPER Hardcore villain to do that. Brainiac is, by far, the best villain for Superman. Doomsday is a close second, with the whole Doomsday storyline being the best sequence ever. Brainiac has a lot more potential workspace as a villain, but Doomsday's power to inflict mortal wounds is irresistible. Putting the two in the next Superman movie seems like a no-brainer.

Dude they need to do a movie on the Death of Superman by DoomsDay. The problem with Superman in movies is that he's hard to relate to. So how do you make him more relateable? You kill him off with one of the greatest DC story of all time. And thats a long story line ..... (sniff sniff) I smell a trilogy...
I wrote a screenpay killing off lex luthor, but then his brain is placed into a younger body thus creating Lex Luthor Jr. But it was basically the set up chapter, the first part in a trilogy dealing with the death of Superman storyline. But no hollywood agents have said yes to giving my script a chance... so you probably won't ever see it happen... at least not my version anyway...

Couldnt agree with you more, I find Tom Wellings portrayal of Superman the worst. To me, the Smallville series just feels like they have took superman and turned the whole thing into a soap, the only troulbe is, fans and regular mainstream "love" this, and so it looks like Welling is going to be the future of the Superman franchise.

It's not going to be a sequel, it's going to be a reboot. I like the I dea of Brainiac for the main villain. I heard someone's idea was to spend the first half hour of the movie on Krypton. I wish I could write the script too though. Problem is I wouldn't know where to go with the whole love child between Superman and Lois Lane thing. Better to leave that to the professionals.
Only real problem with that plot is that there really aren't that many Kryptonians left, other than Superman's cousin Kara, and a shitload of Kryptonian criminals trapped in The Phantom Zone. Come to think of it, they could introduce Kara (Supergirl) and make it so they both have to fight Brainiac, and the Kryptonian criminals. It's a good excuse to do General Zod again. Hey, maybe Warner Bros will read this and make that the basis of the next movie, reboot or not, it'd be pretty sweet.

Supergirl would be a bit much to introcuce. I like your idea for a Bruce Wayne cameo, but I can't imagine Batman being around and NOT trying to help in some way or another and I have mixed feelings about a Superman/Batman team up film. As for Brainiac, not only should his Charecter develop well, but he and Gen. Zod should be directly to blame for Krypton's demise. It'd be a bit of departure from the comics, but it's a worth while risk. And Brainiac should look like a mix of bionic and machine.
Brainiac would be really hard to cast I'll have to think about that one, but I think that Daniel Craig would make an interesting choice for General Zod. If they make him a bit darker than they made him in Superman II, he could be awesome. I'm talking just casually walking through the streets of Metropolis burning things with his heat vision, until Superman shows up. Also, they should leave out Ursa, and the one that couldn't speak from Superman II. Gen. Zod is a stand alone villian.
Well, you see in Superman II, it was Terrence Stamp who played Zod but that was 1980. He did it well, I just think that since the new movie will most likely be a reboot, get a new actor. I think Dan Craig would make a great Zod. If they do Zod, I'd like to see a better fight between him and Supes than in Superman II. He does have the range to play a badguy. (Watch Road To Perdition) If Bruce willis can pull off acting it a machine/alien costume, I can kind of see him as Brainiac.
I don't know I think Daniel Craig would make a hell of great Mr.Freeze in the Chris Nolan batman Series and he would look like someone that can take down Christen Bale as Batman in a fight and Craig is also a great James Bond too

I'm pretty sure everyone knows this by now, but the next Superman movie apparently will not be coming out in 2009 as that is only next year. They say the soonest one can be released is in 2011. And there is still debate whether it will be a sequel or the beginning of a new series. All I care is that Bryan Singer understands "Superman Returns" has to be independent of the Christopher Reeve movies. It cannot be a sequel to two movies that already have two sequels. The world has changed since then.
I think it was nice to see something that was so true to the old Supes, but you are right, times have changed and at this point Big Blue needs a makeover. I think this is something that Warner Brothers now realizes due to the new Batman's success.
I think they need to make a movie as a live-action story to the pilot episode of "Superman: The Animated Series." And it should have the subtitle as "The Last Son of Krypton" as that is the name of the pilot episode. They should do a modern-day story of Kal-El being rocketed away from Krypton just before it explodes and landing on Earth in Smallville. Then have him growing up as Clark Kent and discovering all his powers. Then he becomes Superman for the very first time and starts saving lives.
It's all been done before and I understand that to redo it with today's technology would be cool, simply remaking something that was already done would not do well. Not in this case anyway.
I think it would have been a great idea if lex didn't just try that. At this point, we need a physical enemy such as...dare I say...Doomsday! Nice vid though.
That does sound like a neat idea- but they already made an animated movie called "Superman: Doomsday." It is the story where the Man of Steel takes on the intergalactic monster and the battle results in both of them falling to their death. And then Lex Luthor steals Superman's body and makes a clone who is just like the original- but he at least takes orders from the criminal mastermind and even kills the villains. The real Superman is later recovered and brought back to life to fight the clone.
Yes I have watched Superman Doomsday at least 58 times. But an animated straight to DVD movie is not significant enough to rule out a live action Doomsday.I also think that people should realize that just because Doomsday is in the movie doesn't mean that Supes must die. Recreate the story already. I'm glad to see Smallville paving the road for that mentality.

1. Doomdsay is killed in the movie
Problem Doomsday was WAY too powerful to be killed in a single Superman confrontation
2. They try to kill Superman and revive him before the end so that he fights someone at the end
Problem Superman Doomsday already went down that path and it wasn't animated gold
3. The 3 part Death of Superman
Problem. As much as it hurts me to say, the studio is too cheap to carry out 2/3 films

They don't need to do a reboot. Superman Returns was good. It wasn't perfect but neither was Spider-man 3 and there's 3 more Spidey movies coming.
Just rev up the action and keep the costs down. Brandon Routh pleased many. So it shouldn't be a problem. I don't get the big deal.

Dude they need to do a movie on the Death of Superman by DoomsDay. The problem with Superman in movies is that he's hard to relate to. So how do you make him more relateable? I wrote a screenpay killing off lex luthor, but then his brain is placed into a younger body thus creating Lex Luthor Jr. But it was basically the set up chapter, the first part in a trilogy dealing with the death of Superman storyline. But no hollywood agents have said yes to giving my script a chance... so you probably won't ever see it happen... at least not my version anyway...

I Heard Routh's contract had expired and studio are looking to make a Re-boot movie, using Tom Welling for new Superman, and he wont have the classic Iconic suit, it will look different.

Couldnt agree with you more, I find Tom Wellings portrayal of Superman the worst. To me, the Smallville series just feels like they have took superman and turned the whole thing into a soap, the only troulbe is, fans and regular mainstream "love" this, and so it looks like Welling is going to be the future of the Superman franchise.

It's not going to be a sequel, it's going to be a reboot. I like the I dea of Brainiac for the main villain. I heard someone's idea was to spend the first half hour of the movie on Krypton. I wish I could write the script too though. Problem is I wouldn't know where to go with the whole love child between Superman and Lois Lane thing. Better to leave that to the professionals.

Only real problem with that plot is that there really aren't that many Kryptonians left, other than Superman's cousin Kara, and a shitload of Kryptonian criminals trapped in The Phantom Zone. Come to think of it, they could introduce Kara (Supergirl) and make it so they both have to fight Brainiac, and the Kryptonian criminals. It's a good excuse to do General Zod again. Hey, maybe Warner Bros will read this and make that the basis of the next movie, reboot or not, it'd be pretty sweet.

Supergirl would be a bit much to introcuce. I like your idea for a Bruce Wayne cameo, but I can't imagine Batman being around and NOT trying to help in some way or another and I have mixed feelings about a Superman/Batman team up film. As for Brainiac, not only should his Charecter develop well, but he and Gen. Zod should be directly to blame for Krypton's demise. It'd be a bit of departure from the comics, but it's a worth while risk. And Brainiac should look like a mix of bionic and machine.

Brainiac would be really hard to cast I'll have to think about that one, but I think that Daniel Craig would make an interesting choice for General Zod. If they make him a bit darker than they made him in Superman II, he could be awesome. I'm talking just casually walking through the streets of Metropolis burning things with his heat vision, until Superman shows up. Also, they should leave out Ursa, and the one that couldn't speak from Superman II. Gen. Zod is a stand alone villian.

Well, you see in Superman II, it was Terrence Stamp who played Zod but that was 1980. He did it well, I just think that since the new movie will most likely be a reboot, get a new actor. I think Dan Craig would make a great Zod. If they do Zod, I'd like to see a better fight between him and Supes than in Superman II. He does have the range to play a badguy. (Watch Road To Perdition) If Bruce willis can pull off acting it a machine/alien costume, I can kind of see him as Brainiac.

I'm pretty sure everyone knows this by now, but the next Superman movie apparently will not be coming out in 2009 as that is only next year. They say the soonest one can be released is in 2011. And there is still debate whether it will be a sequel or the beginning of a new series. All I care is that Bryan Singer understands "Superman Returns" has to be independent of the Christopher Reeve movies. It cannot be a sequel to two movies that already have two sequels. The world has changed since then.

I think it was nice to see something that was so true to the old Supes, but you are right, times have changed and at this point Big Blue needs a makeover. I think this is something that Warner Brothers now realizes due to the new Batman's success.

I think they need to make a movie as a live-action story to the pilot episode of "Superman: The Animated Series." And it should have the subtitle as "The Last Son of Krypton" as that is the name of the pilot episode. They should do a modern-day story of Kal-El being rocketed away from Krypton just before it explodes and landing on Earth in Smallville. Then have him growing up as Clark Kent and discovering all his powers. Then he becomes Superman for the very first time and starts saving lives.

That does sound like a neat idea- but they already made an animated movie called "Superman: Doomsday." It is the story where the Man of Steel takes on the intergalactic monster and the battle results in both of them falling to their death. And then Lex Luthor steals Superman's body and makes a clone who is just like the original- but he at least takes orders from the criminal mastermind and even kills the villains. The real Superman is later recovered and brought back to life to fight the clone.

Yes I have watched Superman Doomsday at least 58 times. But an animated straight to DVD movie is not significant enough to rule out a live action Doomsday.I also think that people should realize that just because Doomsday is in the movie doesn't mean that Supes must die. Recreate the story already. I'm glad to see Smallville paving the road for that mentality.
