It has to be very, very lightweight. That's one reason it is filmed indoors. Any breeze at all would carry it away, just as currents carry jellyfish (which are essentially the same density as the sea).

It is a gorgeous model and concept.

@Biotektan Actually I believe that it wouldn't as propellers are heavier and require more energy, yes at the moment they are easier and cheaper but that's just based on the fact that they are manufactured greatly it would be the same story with these if they were produced as much besides doesn't this just blow your mind. Festo designs are biologically based anyway.

There might be something in this. RC planes are too fast. Slow flappy airships are could be a lot easier for beginners and safe indoors.They could go further and have it software controlled like a airborne Sony Aibo.
