UGH, I hated him..this was quite helpful (yet again xD). Also, if people are lame like me and missed the chance to get on his back here's what I did. Jump into the lake for a bit as he cannot follow you there. Wait until he gets lost and runs back and forth, then climb the path (no the winding one, the one to the left of the lake). He'll follow you there until you reach a stone ledge. From there you can jump up and onto his back though it's kind of annoying.

Things that are fun to do to this particular Colossus:

a)stay in the lake and watch it run around_^)

b)make it run off the fire altar area and watch it leap back onto the stage

c)Stab it and kill it as it jumps to make the game EXTRA SLOW MO (European version <V_V)

d)Take the stick with fire and bash it on the head

This game sucks, you spend 15 - 20 minutes riding a horse going in circles, the character moves clumsily and slow, the controls suck, the camera is awful and controlling it is a pain. The graphics are nice and the music is nice, as well as the emotion, but as a GAME and not a "art presentation"... Shadow of the Colossus sucks ass.
