  • Wow pussy the more cops killed on the street the better huh? Your a real winner. I bet if something happened to you or your family you would call police. Your just a shit talker probably with a long criminal record who has been caught and arrested many times, a loser who isn't shit and never will be. Please go out tonight and try to kill some LEO in your town and let us know how it works out for you. But alas you won't because your a pussy. I don't know and have never met anyone in my dept or a

  • this is a great instructional video mr.weinblatt. thanks for sharing it with everyone. hoping to make it as a officer here in my town. could use all the help i can get.

  • the more cops that are killed on the street the better! as for officer neslon! your an ass. how many police brutality incidents have been caught on video?? thousands. citizens do have rights!!! as for a search. you must have reasonable cause to call a sniffer dog. unless you lie in court. like you must do many times.never ever admit to anything. as for me I knocked a cop out in a fight, all charges were dropped and i won a brutality claim in court! wanna see the papers?? ass, or genius???

  • I have a question: When you ask the driver to produce his registration & insurance and he says "I keep the papers in my wallet", should the driver ask to extract his wallet so he can produce his documents?

  • It would be easier to take you serious if you didn't have a lisp.

  • First of all. dont leave your door open if pulled over, if directed too, get out of the car, windows up , and close the door, make sure any weapons are not visible. under the seat is the best! never consent to a search of your vehicle! say no, it is within your rights.dont admit to anything, even speeding, they will use it against you in court. when getting home, wash your car good to get all that cops germs off your car.

  • @cocacolacollecter Cool story bro. You do realize there's more than one way to search a car, right? How about just not bringing weapons in your car in the first place, genius?

  • my class leader in training stumbled across this and showed us this and said he bassicly condensed three weeks of class in ten minutes

  • I'm going to school to be a police officer but I have a question, you say that as you walk back to the car with the driver. You can put your finger prints on the trunk. Why do this? I mean why put your finger prints on his car? Just wondering.

  • @camarodan32 so if they take of they can dust the car and say that is the exact car cuz it has your prints on it

  • @xInfamous187x

posted this hate speech...23 minutes ago what are you doing on youtube? I thought I told you to blow your brains out or could you not accomplish that? you know its not good to disobey your father. Oh and the fact that you have to view my profile to reply to me makes you a loser. Fuckboy.

  • aah, the nazi method.

  • When do we see the police state training vids, where 'police enforcers' kick the shit out of the people they are supposed to serve and protect....collaboraters in the corporate, millitary world...wake up 'peace officers' please.

Common law is the only law...statutes are acts...without our CONSENT you have no power.Anyone chipped yet?Peace.

  • fuck pigs

  • fukin pigs

  • How come you touch the trunk when you go up to get the registration??

  • @andrewlytle70 Someone could be hiding in the trunk with a weapon if you were to be talking to the driver he could hop out of the trunk slowly and shoot you in the back.

  • I'm someone who is thinking about getting into law enforecement, I have a couple of questions though. 1) Just curious what is the point of putting your finger print on the vehicle?

    2) I know you say that is just an option, was that your dept's primary method, because I know some ppl (like some old lady or something lol) may get offended by that method, thinking they were stopped for something more then a traffic violation?

    3) What dept did you hail from and are they hiring in your area?

  • What's your P.C. for having the driver exit his/her vehicle upon initially stopping them? This wouldn't fly in my State.

  • I enjoy your vids. I will being going to college for criminal justice, and it's nice to get a idea of what I will be going up against when I am a police officer. Great vid!

  • I notice in LA a lot of cops ride 2 to a car...so probably they don't do this unless they suspect you are a gangster or a really bad guy. an officer working alone is another story.

  • Unmmm, no. That takes too much time for a simple violation. I can see using that if the occupant may be armed but nah.

  • This is very similar to a felony stop, I could see quite a few citizen complaints coming from using this style of contact on every driver. Use this when stopping a more suspicious subject or vehicle.

He is right; it doesn't replace the traditional driver/passenger side approach, but can be very useful.

  • another tool for the communist movement yay! USSR

  • Ugh, your foul fingerprints are not worthy on my footprints.

  • im 21 im joining the academy in san diego, i like your video your advice is excellent. thank you!

  • Ah a good ol vector bar!! LOL

  • fuck da police

  • dont we still have the right to privacy in our vehicles? i was taught growing up that you did not have to exit the vehicle, only to provide documentation(license, registration) through a cracked window? is that accurate or am i missing something?

  • when the officer get's out of his driver side and moves to teh passenger side what if the man decides to run what happens then?.....gives him a five second head start

  • callihn:

Some law enforcement agencies think so too. Some even make it their policy to approach vehicles in this manner. Others leave it to the officer's discretion.

  • You are most welcome. I'm glad you enjoy (and learn from) my videos.

    -- Dr. Richard Weinblatt

  • Wow this video is horrible. Did they edit it at all? lol

  • is the point of putting your fingerprint on the trunk for future reference?

  • That is one of a couple of reasons why we train law enforcement officers to touch the trunk.

    -- Dr. Richard Weinblatt

  • for if something happens to the cop

  • This is the only type of stop my department does along with the Parish (county) sheriff and the Louisiana State Police. It's called the "come see me" Most agencies in Louisiana do this manditory. However we do not play chineese fire drill by walking around the unit and going to the passenger side door of our units. When you do that you expose yourself with no barrier and you have to take your eyes off of your suspects in the car. Also you get a big dose of Strobe or LED light in the eyes.

  • Shreveport apparently does not do this mandatory, of course I may have been dealing with a careless officer. I was stopped for no seatbelt (which I was wearing, actually), the officer walked up to my car, I wanted to warn him about the unloaded firearm on my dash but he interrupted me asking for my information. The officer seemed completely oblivious to the weapon the entire time!

  • This is the only method used by my department and by the Parish (county) sheriff and the Louisiana State Police, you can be diclipined if you go to the car first. We call it the "come see me" However we stand behind the driver side door in our patrol unit . Walking around behind your unit to go to the passenger side to call the driver out leaves you taking your eyes off the subjects in the car and leaves you exposed while walking on the passenger side of your unit.

  • thats weird calling a diver to ur car for a 10-27 in sullivan county they normaly go to the car and keep from passing to far up so the driver has to move their body to u and u can see their person and inside of car and check the trunk of the car for anyone in it by making sure its down by pushingit down and to leave ur finger print but i guess thats just cause u all are different from up here in Tn

  • PIG SCHOOL !

  • I used this traffic stop technique a few days ago when I was by myself and stopped three known gang members in a vehicle. I called the driver back, who did not have any ID.The front passanger ran from the traffic stop when my code 3 cover officers arrived. I found out after the fact the subject who ran was armed and wanted for assault on police. I believe that if I had approaced the vehicle that weapon may have been used on me. I would have done a high risk stop, but I just didnt have enough thx

  • May God watch over you and protect you! On behalf of everyone you work to protect, We thank you!

  • Thanks for this Video I'm still a student and I want to be a cop and/or maybe for the NJ state Police and thanks again!

  • Florida, Alpha, Bravo, Charlie? ummm...what is this this the Military Police? haha geez!

  • Thanks for the comment. Actually, different areas of the country use either of the two different phonetic alphabets on the radio. Some are even a combination of the two. When I was a patrol division deputy sheriff in Santa Fe County, New Mexico, we used the police phonetic (A= Adam, B=Boy, etc.). In theCentral Florida area, where I made this video, the prevailing system used was the military phonetic (A=Alpha, B=Bravo, etc.), so that is what I used for the video.

  • Cops don't even realize they are money collectors for publically traded corporations (your police stations) that profit private investors.

Congratulations, you're obediant little corporate 'officers.'

  • lol go find ur meds.

  • You're an idiot. I didnt' realise that when someone is robbing your house and the cops show up to stop them, there is some sort of profit margin between that.

  • what you dont understand is that fines are ways to try and prevent the drivers to stop committing the offence he/she was charged for.

You think officers want to hand out drunk driving tickets? Everyone's families are on the line because of drunk drivers, gangsters and street racers.

    get a life idiot

  • What is the point to go on the other side of the police vehicle? What if the suspect suddently takes off with his vehicle, while you are on the other side of the driver-seat?

  • I think it's so you can see what's going on inside the vehicle. If you stood behind the driver's side door, your view of the driver would probably be partially blocked by the C-pillar. I'll have to try it out, though. Haven't heard of this method before.

  • This would confuse me...I would be nervouse to get out of the car lol

  • Fair enough. I am sure you have forgotten more about this sort of thing than I will ever learn, so I meant no disrespect.

  • None taken, mitch8185845 (actually, you get a thick skin when you post as many videos as I do on youtube, Facebook, etc.).

You should be learning and analyzing ideas and concepts. By doing so, you should survive, thrive, and stay alive, while serving your community. Keep questioning and pondering. Critical thinking is crucial. Stay safe and thanks for serving your community.

    --Dr. Richard Weinblatt

  • You should never walk between your cruiser and the suspect's vehicle. If some knucklehead scumbag falls asleep and hits the back of your crusier, you're both gonna get smoked. It happens.

  • Thanks for your comment. I agree with your observation. However, this is just one tool in an officer's tool belt. Each approach has advantages and disadvantages. Each situation needs to be judged in that light.

    -- Dr. Richard Weinblatt

  • This may work for you on a street that has a low traffic volume, however if that driver get's struck after you order them out of the vehicle, who does the liability rest with? Also a follow up on the touch the trunk...very old school mentality...why give your position away? The latent print idea...find me a case. Hiding in the trunk...most trunks these days are too small and it's fairly obvious if it is ajar, not to mention most have an inside release these days.

  • the gun could be where he keeps all the papers your looking for moron lol

  • I don;t think the subject should ever get out of the car unless he is riding with you handcuffed. You can't see what he has on up under a coat if you walk back with him. A gun can come from anywhere!

  • Isn't that a bit unsafe to allow the violator to go back to his or her car? Unless you already did a search of the vehicle I'd think twice before allowing somebody to go back to their car without knowing what they may have in their center console or somewhere else up front.

  • Wonderful video, however not so wonderful for it to be public knowledge. I used some of the same techniques, and now I feel like I need to change them again when the bad guy knows what I'm doing!

  • very good video. god bless the police.

  • @Fishnalltime

I agree to both of those statements, some cops give other officers a bad reputation.

  • i hate cops when they pop the hood for mods

    fuckin losers

  • well quit fuckin ricin and get a real car. bmw maybe? or did mommy and daddy pay for your riced out POS honda?

  • I've been an officer for 3 years now and I love this technique! I only use this when I work the graveyard or when I feel it's unsafe for me to approach. But if i feel that it's unsafe another unit is on his way. Great video!

  • Yeah its good for officers at departments with a low number of officers, luckily for us when I call out on traffic there is another unit about 30 seconds away and already headed towards me.

  • A question for all working officers out there:

Why does the instructor in this video put his thumbprint on the rear of the car? Is this a trade secret?

  • SquadCo288:

Good question. Law enforcement officers are trained to do this for two important reasons...1) it puts their fingerprints on the violator/suspects car linking it to the car if something happens to them and 2) the officer can ascertain if person or persons unknown are hiding in the trunk by pushing it down gently. It is ideally an automatic trained move that all officers do.

    -- Dr. Richard Weinblatt

  • Roger that... I would avoid walking or standing bewtween the cars at all costs. more than a few cops have had bad endings doing that. Might be a good idea to have driver place keys on roof of vehile. Makes it harder to take off if the situation breaks bad.

  • Airborne80-

You are correct and I appreciate the comment. As I said below, officers need to modify based on their personal preferences and local protocols.

    -- Dr. Richard Weinblatt

  • I hear you. And just for the record, I was not trying to down your training at all. Just my own addittions to the topic. You are correct in that there are many ways to operate and one can find fault in all of them. Good training :)

I don't have to talk to the police.

I don't want to get out of my car because I don't trust the police.

I have a right to be left alone.

  • All good accept standing in front of the patrol car and walking between the cars. Not a good idea with the rear end collisions officers face today.

  • Agreed. This technique is but one that is available to officers. Not all techniques, or parts of the techniques, are appropriate for every stop. Officers need to evaluate each traffic stop situation and use these techniques as a tool on their tool belt and pick the best tool for them.

    -- Richard Weinblatt

  • Sounds like a good tactic during night traffic stops.

  • good video
