  • I saw a bunch of kids test it on youtube and it failed. they stabbed it and the knife went through.

  • I like it but they need to make the outer layer slash proof, if you get slashd the jumpers ruined, you want it to last longer than one fight.

  • exactly, and hyperdermic needles can pass through kevlar.

  • omfg, people are too scared these days. its bad..

  • Anyone who tries to cut you rather than really stab you doesnt really want to kill you anyway, they just want to scare you on a power-trip.

  • slashes to the arms and throat aren't meant to scare you. In particular the hands and forearms make excellent targets for disabling someone from being able to grip or fight back.

  • @Jujutsuka4LIfe I agree with you because at the sites you suggest, the arteries are relatively close to the skin compared to most of the rest of the body, and it is arterial blood which is under the highest pressure and so spurts out rapidly but in most instances where someone is attacked with a knife they don't see it coming and it will be a stabbing wound because the assailant isn't trying to win a fight by hitting targets, their trying to kill

  • @mlndstream

you obviously have never learned to handle a knife...

  • @yogioto would you rather wear that shirt while you were being'slashed'or'stabbed'?. Humans generally prefer to avoid killing each other when possible, slashing is something someone would do to someone else who isn't armed in a'fight',the knife cuts surface veins giving large psychological impact causing rapid compliance, stabbing wounds will hit the arteries and then cut out on another angle causing gaping wounds pumping out blood giving you less chance of survival than if you were shot imo

  • yes and no. you can slash someone much faster than stab and by stabbing you have less control because you might get stuck. therefore many techniques concentrate on slashing vital points. several of them can be cut withing 2-3 seconds and make you bleed out in no time. so yes, stabbing is very dangerous but also easier to evade. if somebody knows what he is doing and even if he wants to kill you, he will use slashing. I have practiced knife fighting for years and am more afraid of slashers...

  • notice the guy is'cutting' the fabric, not'stabbing' the fabric, there is a massive difference between these two types of attacks, I have yet to see that fabric stop a direct knife point stab, and I sadly doubt I will, as a true puncturing stab, rather than his cutting slash, is what gets into internal organs, and the deeper arteries rather than just surface skin and veins where the blood loss is much less. Like the Romans said,3 inches of stab is worth 14 inches of slash.

  • "Most fatal thoracic/abdominal knife wounds are puncture wounds - not slashing as demonstrated in this video."

If you get shanked in the back, you're dead anyway. Even if you're wearing a kevlar stab proof vest or a covert kevlar stab proof vest, they're easy enough to spot and they'll stab angled underneath it. The best you can hope for is to buy some of these fine products and try to roll away from the knife.

  • What happens if you attach the garment around say, a watermelon and you stab it full force with a kitchen or bowie knife ? Does it penetrate ? Most fatal thoracic/abdominal knife wounds are puncture wounds - not slashing as demonstrated in this video.

  • Just for the record, these Hoodies are now available in Ladies colours (Pink and Cool Blue ) Also T.Shirts are now available all from bladerunner with the same protection. Search in google for bladerunner.

    Peace.

  • sweet

  • What a bloody good idea. I want one.

  • Excellent idea. A lot of lives and limbs would have been saved if people wore kevlar lined products.

I have bought the kevlar gloves now I'll by the Kevlar hoodie. Both will be very useful when least expected. :)
