@Faeku I drive a Honda, but I have no problem with the way a VR6 sounds. They've always had a good sound to them - even the intake sounds cool. You won't find me saying my Honda is the best car out there, nor will you find me saying that about any VW, but it doesn't mean they aren't fun, good, or cool. Personally, I love the way my Honda sounds, all the way to 9000rpms with 240 all-motor horsepower. This car sounds good too, maybe better. The uploader username is retarded though -growup.

If your talking about both mk4s then there is a difference but if the generation can change... they are on the losing side.

@turbofalkon exhaust cutout= a piece of pipe after the header that splits into 2 pipes, 1 is for the exhust the other is just open so you can run no exhaust. you close off the open side when you want to use your exhaust. watch a youtube video about it or something my man.

had 2 1.8t's sold one (with a 35r on it) and i kept the black one 03' (ko3s turbo) got the heated leather in it. its my daily and i have had my giac x+ and an intake on it for the last 4.5 years. no problems except for a new rear main seal. its torquy and it outruns all the n/a hondas in town. even the new si's. id rather have a vr6 for the sound!! i wont even put exhaust on my 1.8 cause i hate the sound of 4cyl open pipped car. even though i would gain hp's. eventually im going mk4 R32

@volkhead247 Keep the 1.8T. The vr6's I've had, friends had, family has had, have had so many problems. The 1.8T's I've had experience with though are phenominal. You can get a much better power to weight ratio out of those 1.8t's than you can a vr6.

u add a body kit, or is it lowered.....it doesn't look stock, my buddy's gti looks like shit cuz its so high off the ground.....thats why i had my R32 lowered plus a modest-lookin body kit.....most my money went to performance tho, new ECU, big turbo (25 psi), Miltek exhaust & headers, race cams, Eibach Springs, Baer brakes, pirelli tires, K&N intake, the works lol got up to 165, afraid to go much faster lol i gotta get a dyno just to see what numbers i'm running hehe

that was before the streetwerke turbo kit.......the setup comes with a turbo-back exhaust, i kept the miltek components and put on the downpipe and high flow cat, everything else i kept miltek.......i HAD the miltek cat-back in addition to some cheap headers, NOW a mix streetwerkes (DP and Cat) and miltek.....and btw, i worked at carvalle custom cars in high school as an installer so u can go ahead and stfu, i misworded a few things and u go ballistic, goddamn

thanks for all the kind words... It is an electric cutout thats wired to a switch under my dash and I can close the flap and it's back to stock. The exhaust is just some custom made pipes really. The wheels are Drifz Nos. I now have some way better looking wheels - Miro Mo2's staggered.

its an electric flapper valve just after the header that allows the gas to bypass the mufflers. Its usually loud as all fuck when someone gets on it next to you with the flapper open.

the only way it will trigger any codes is if u dont have ur o2 sensor in iv done a couple of cutouts on dubs, tl type s and a 350z. the best way i know of making a cutout is to buy a test pipe and fabricate it onto that.

I have a Mk4 GTI with the 1.8 Turbo engine. The cutout valve needs to be installed after the cat, or can one be fitted right after the turbo down pipe (that is BEFORE the cat)? Will the latter trigger any warning lights or generate error codes on the on-board computer? Who makes/sells your cutout valve?
